About Annette and Carl York
We have been living in Cottonwood Heights at the mouth of the canyon for 20 years and love all of the benefits of living near the resorts. I remodel homes, and my wife, Annette, is a teacher at Franklin Covey. Our son Gavin is 10 yrs old, and our two daughers, Stella and Lola, love to ski at Snowbird/Alta. We bought this property as a family investment with our relatives so they can come to visit and have a great place to stay that is only 1 mile from our home. Thanks for choosing our Canyon Place Condo! Lola, Stella, Annette, Gavin & Carl York
Annette and Carl York purchased this Condo in 2006

It was a convenient place to stay
Worked out well for our family who likes to ski in different locations everday. there was enough room for all of us!
Comfy, great location and affordable
Our group enjoyed the townhome. It was comfrtable and the location was great.
Location, location location
If you are looking for a lot of beds close to both Big & Little Cottonwoods canyons, this is an excellent choice. The upstairs apartment has a great kitchen, large table which works for 10 people. Downstairs apartment also has a small kitchen which we did not need. Hot tub was a nice touch too. We had a couple small issues but Carl took care of them quickly. He lives close by so that is a definite help. 2 car garage is a plus as well. Very close to ski rental stores, grocery stores etc.and less than 30 minutes to SLC airport.
If you have group of skiers this is a very comfortable and affordable way to go.Great trip.
Two units, needs some work
First, it needs to be said that this is not one unit, it is two: one downstairs and one upstairs. The issue with this is it does not state this anywhere in the information. We got snow every night (and some days) but one, which meant we had family members coming and going to/from meals on snowy icy stairs. The master bedroom upstairs had a bed which sunk in toward the middle and even when we put a large pillow in the middle, we both still rolled to the center. The bathroom door is a pocket door but it is off the track and was nearly impossible to open and close, which meant no privacy and we had our daughter in the room. Both units are equipped with gas fireplaces that would not work. The owner was quick to send a repairman, but after one use, they would not light again. The kitchen was well equipped and most rooms had either dressers, a closet or both, with hangers. And there is a washer and dryer in both units. Just keep in mind, if you have young children, you would not want them staying downstairs by themselves, and the mattress in the master bedroom needs to be replaced. The gas fireplace would have been nice on the cold evenings but not a must. Also there is a hot tub and it was functional, I did not use it but other family members did.
Great Property and Great Location
We were very pleased with our stay. We were a group of 8 and there was plenty of room. The description of the property is very accurate. We were in town for a ski trip and the location is perfectly placed between the canyons that access the cottonwood ski areas. I would certainty recommend this rental to family and friends.
Extremely Convenient and Perfect for Large Groups
Our family ski group enjoyed our stay. This is actually two units with separate outside entrances, but that was perfect for our group which had 6 adults and 6 kids. The proximity to Alta/Snowbird was a huge bonus and something we can't recommend enough about this property. 15 minutes and we were on the slopes. Carl and Annette were great, super flexible (we had an initial concern about the upstairs fridge which ended up being a non-issue) but Carl dropped what he was doing on our arrival evening and came over just to make sure. We had a great time and a wonderful trip.
