Many people ask us where we are from, how did we get to the Goldgrube,… FAQ We will inform you a bit, lift a tip of the veil. After getting resignation and having had my deal of stress, traffic jams etc in Belgium and Holland, we have decided to look for an apartment house in either Tirol or Salzburg. We have been in Austria (Carinthia) for a long time on holiday. However we like to have a two season business. Half a year sitting on a mountain waiting for the first guests to come, is nothing for us. Before moving here we have not been in the Raurisertal before. The house was found via the internet and during one of the many trips looking for a new home. At the 1st of July 2005 we have bought the Goldgrube. Before living in Austria, we have been in Belgium, around Antwerp. In Belgium we landed, departing from our home country The Netherlands via Singapore where we stayed 3 years. In the Netherlands we have lived in or around Utrecht, Groningen, Stadskanaal, Veenendaal, Chaam. We have had planned to do a lot of skiing and mountaineering , but… you guessed it already, not that much time left after taking care of our guests and the house. We have two kids. Our son and his wife live in Amsterdam and our daughter boy friend and kids in Boom (Belgium). We see each other two times a year up north and they come down once or twice a year. Our new family member is Heidi. Born June 1st 2014. She is a mix from an Appenzeller and Border Collie more or less. Any way cute and lifely. Our new living environment suits us well. We are getting along very well with our 200 neighbours being the total population of Bucheben. Fancy a holiday with friend and or family?

Our family of five, with children age 6, 14 and 17 + one dog had booked appartment Arnika for two weeks.
We where not disappointed.
The house and our appartment was very well maintained, and had everything we needed to feel at home. The location was perfect for our planned hikes in the area.
For familys with young children we reccomend a walk through the Rauriser Urwald, the Hochhalmbahn gondola, a walk to the gold panning place only 6 km.away, for this trip our kids borrowed bikes at the Goldgrube. A trip to Krumltal and Tal der Geier is also highly recommended. We even got to se marmots on our way up and the voltures flying over the mountains. For the tough ones, you can go Paragliding in Zell am See.
We had a wonderful barbeque evening with our hosts and the other guests at the Goldgrube by the stream, delicious food!
Every morning we had fresh rolls delivered at our door for breakfast. After long days hiking in the mountains and sightseeing it was wonderful to come «home» and relax and just enjoy our wiew from every window and our balcony. Only hearing the stream and birds singing. Our dog probably had the best vacation ever!
We went home to Norway full of energy and great memories.
Tolle Location...super Skigebiet
We hadden 1 slaapkamer in gebruik.
