This 5 bedroom/5 bath home is located on what is called 'Ice Box' hill near the Historic area of Mazatlan. We have ocean views throughout the house and it is a 200 to 300 foot walk to the Malecon that runs along the Pacific Ocean shoreline. You can see the infamous 'Cliff Divers' from the patio. There is a swimming pool with Jacuzzi jets and it overlooks the Ocean.
The house is spacious with 5,000 square feet and has all the amenities of your home. The house was totally remodeled from top to bottom. All the furniture, beds, linens, cookware, dishes, glasses, etc. are brand new. We have a water purification system that runs pure water throughout the house, so you don't have to worry about 'drinking the water'. We have Star Choice Satellite TV with over 200 channels including local channels in the U.S. and Canada. This is also our home and not just a rental, so we keep it in immaculate condition.
The location of the property is ideal. It is located in a very secure upper-class area of Mazatlan. It is a 10 minute walk to the Plaza Machado in the Historic District and a 10 minute walk to the Central Market and Cathedral. If you want to go to the resort area (Golden Zone), you can catch a Pulmonia or taxi in a 1 minute walk from the house.
Property managers will arrange for airport pick-up and shopping before arriving at the house for an additional fee. They can also arrange a variety of activities for you.
Please take note that this is not a party house as it is our home. We do not rent to people under the age of 25 - kids with parents are welcome. The house is an upscale neighborhood, so we require quiet after 10pm. We do not rent to Spring Breakers - sorry.

We alternate their time between their homes in Mazatlan and Walla Walla, Washington. We have been either living in or coming to Mazatlan for several years and absolutely love it here. This house is not just a rental, it is our home. We have totally remodeled the home over the last two years from top to bottom, so it is like new. We wish we could spend more time in Mazatlan and eventually will. We are both semi-retired and try to stay busy with various business ventures.
Liz purchased this house in 2004
First of all, it is not just a vacation rental. It is our home. We rent it out periodically when we are not there. It is not a full time rental. We decided on Mazatlan as there is not another Mexico city that has the benefits this City has to offer. It is has a wonderful Historic area with great restaurants and entertainment; a resort area with great night-life; 16 miles of sandy beaches for swimming, boogie boarding and surfing; great medical and dental care (cheap too!); and all the amenities you are used to (Sam's Club, Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Office Depot).
We love our home due to the 180 degree view of the Pacific Ocean and the fabulous sunsets. There are very few homes in Mazatlan that have the view and the location that this property has. It is located in an upper-class section of Mazatlan with other very nice homes. It is a 1 minute walk to the Ocean and the Cliff Divers and a 10 minute walk to the Historic area and the Central Market. We can sit in the pool with a drink overlooking the Ocean and watching the fabulous Mazatlan sunsets. Once you come as see the view, you will want to return.
The second I walked into this gorgeous house, located in a posh part of the city, my mouth dropped open looking at the spacious rooms and high-end quality products and furniture. Not only is it kept in immaculate condition, the quality of amenities (kitchen, TV, etc.) are top-notch. Let's talk about the views - WOW! We enjoyed several yummy meals out on the patio looking at the gorgeous ocean and city of Mazatlan - So very special! The floor to ceiling windows also allowed for expansive views from within the house. The pool was beautiful and so relaxing - again, with amazing views. We enjoyed such comfort and convenience. Historic downtown and great restaurants are within walking distance … and transportation to Mazatlan proper was always easy and available. Make your Mexico trip memorable and book this place. The owners are also very accommodating and responsive.
We just stayed at this beautiful VRBO Thanksgiving week. The views are spectacular, the accommodations immaculate. The pool water and pool area was also immaculate. The House, which features a modern kitchen with granite floors and counters, had an open concept in which light and views were in great abundance. The WiFi allowed me uninterrupted internet access and the dish network also worked without fail. It was a one block walk to the board walk and the stunning beach front views of the Pacific Ocean, Cliff Divers, and sea splashed rock out-croppings. All perfect for the photographer in me. Another fun thing was the ability to experience the vibrant heartbeat of the historical district of Mazatlan (all within walking distance) of which the architecture along the way will change your mind and heart about Mexico. Highly recommend at the risk of it being taken when we come back, which we will.
This was my first time to Mazatlan and I was not disappointed. I stayed at this lovely home for six days of luxury, with comfortable beds and all the amenities you could ever need. With incredible views, the home was beautiful and peaceful. The pool was a welcome relaxation and great way to cool down from the day. The home is definitely located in an upscale neighbor hood, that felt secure and safe. With just a short walk to the water, I was able to take in the sites and sounds every morning. Miles of boardwalk and not once did I feel uncomfortable walking by myself in the morning. The cliff divers are just two blocks away and provided spectacular entertainment.
The owners were very helpful in pointing out places of interest and dinning suggestions. I felt the house was centrally located and it was just a short pulmonia ride to just about anywhere. (BTW, pulmonia's, are our versions of taxis. These were great, extremely affordable and very readily available.) Not one of the restaurants that they recommended were a disappointment. We ate out every day at a new location. I averaged about $6-$10 per meal and that included shrimp for almost every meal and of course a margarita...or two. The seafood is brought in fresh every morning.
We were fortunate enough to be visiting during the Day Of The Dead Festival. It was truly an experience! The owners had recommended a restaurant on the festival route that was amazing. This was truly a magical and special night. We spent a lazy day lounging on Stone Island, sipping margaritas, having lunch and napping, while under the comforts of an umbrella at a beach restaurant. The rest of the time we explored, shopped and ate our way through the week.
The key to staying in this fabulous rental, is taking advantage of the information the owners provided. We followed every thing they suggested and it was fantastic! They suggested their favorite local spots that were not touristy but safe and very enjoyable. To me that was a great added value.
The time went way too fast and I definitely plan to be going back again and staying at this house.
I stayed in this VRBO as a second time around. This time was as good as the first experience. VERY clean, private quarters with my own bathroom, bed very comfortable. I enjoyed sitting on the covered patio, reading, being on my IPAD, and enjoying the solitude and beauty with a great view. Only a few short blocks walk or pulmonia ride to Centro, where there is the market, theatre, restaurants, shopping, etc. This is a wonderful home to stay.. great view, wonderful bedrooms, kitchen is large and well equipped. The dining area is very large, and can be set up to dance and learn salsa dancing. The pool is warm. Highly recommended.
This house is amazing! There is nothing left out or not included in this home. The moment we arrived, we were greeted by the house manager. She was very helpful in orienting us to the home and area. There is also a binder filled with helpful info.
The house is beautiful! It is upscale and extremely comfortable. The view is incredible. The neighborhood is safe and walkable. We spent everyday exploring. We had more than one person tell us that we are in one of nicest neighborhoods in Mazatlan. We took the helpful advice from the owners and visited some of their favorite spots, including Stone Island, Centro Historico, and the Mercado. All worth going to. We also had a refreshing swim every evening.
My best friend and I have been friends for more than 30 years and been staying in VRBO homes for the past 10 years. This home was by far at the top of the list!
Lastly, when you rent this amazing home...get the masseuse! You will never regret it!!
After spending 17 days here and re-reading all the positive reviews piling up, I can readily say it's all true, and there are just not enough superlatives.
We were three mature couples vacationing together for the first time. One of us has limited mobility with a recent total knee, but she is plucky and never once complained about all the stairs from the street to this unit. The effort was certainly worth it-- so much space for the group and so much privacy for each couple. Every need and comfort was thoughtfully provided. All six of us could work in the kitchen (equipped to the satisfaction of the home ecs and chefs in our group, and complete with condiments and spices) at once. All of us could comfortably "supervise" the cooks, or watch satellite TV. All of us could dine together in or on the patio, where the ocean view and sunsets were priceless. We enjoyed frequenting the Malecon, the shrimp ladies, the Mercado, and Plazuela Machado-- and all of us, even the two couples new to Mexico, felt very safe. For the couple accustomed to staying in a Golden Zone resort, the Centro Historico experience, even during noisy Carnaval, was far superior in feeling closer to the Mexican people even with so many Gringo ex-pats around.
Local management has changed, and we may have been the first guests for the new management team, which is still getting its sea-legs. We did find them immediately responsive to urgent needs, and we were especially grateful for maid service with fresh linens during our stay; it was excellent and came at a very low price.
For future winter visitors, we strongly recommend the Camerata Campell Sunday concerts in the Teatro Angela Peralta, and the first Friday Artwalk.
Yes, we would return to these fabulous digs, and hope to do so another winter.
Within a 15 minute walk of our home, you can be at the beach, several restaurants and bars, stores, central market, cathedral, doctors, dentists
