Niagara Falls Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, 1 Bedroom + Other (See Description), 1 Bath, sleeps 4 (2 adults,2 kids)

Just a 14 minute drive from the brink of Niagara Falls! Our 'hoblet' has the look of a woodsy cabin, but is spacious and modern. 600 sq. feet in total with a large studio living room, separate bedroom and a bathroom with a built in 2 seater far infrared sauna. Outside is viewed through 5 sets of double glass patio doors & 3 skylights.Your retreat includes breakfast, via a lightly stocked kitchen and all the ammenities. The green living roof is very special. Your 'yard' is a hardwood forest with a small stream running through. Beautifully landscaped out in the country yet only 15 minutes from the brink of the falls with emphasis on nature and good energy. On site and for your viewing is our equine rescue, home to 7 donkeys, 1 mule, 2 pot belly piggies, and 2 wonderful, friendly little goats, (2 dogs). Your rental is completely private from the main house, has its own driveway with a delightful walk through the trees and past the 'circle of elements', a great fire pit with boulders encompassing that space.

Wonderful walks by the forest, ponds, & stream all help to create a very special energy in and around the 'cabin'. Your host, Petra, has received the Ambassador of Tourism Award from the Canadian government during her eight years as a professional tour guide in Niagara Falls, now Petra spends her free time looking after the donkeys and animals, and her guests. Please see our website for more photos of the 'space' and the surrounding area, we look forward to meeting you!

For our guests staying 2night or more, a wonderful one hour 'Meet and Greet the Animlas' is included with your stay. Spend some one on one time with your favorite donkey. The emphasis is on nature here enjoy the views and the animals.

About The Owner

I have over 8 years experience as a professional tour guide in Niagara Falls. And a proud recipient of the Ambassador of Tourism Award from the Canadian government. We share our 'space' with 2 dogs, and 7 equines, 2 pot belly pigs named Sheldon and Shpeck, and 2 little, sweet goats; Monty and George. We are passionate about animal welfare, and preserving nature. I speak conversational Spanish and German. Having lived and worked in seven countries, and having travelled extensively I believe my husband and I have come to understand what our national and international guest would appreciate and expect in their travels. We look forwarding to helping you see all the Niagara Peninsula has to offer, there is so much more than just the falls. (Plus our tricks of the trade can help you save money, time and aggravation).

Why The Owner chose Ontario

Avoid the hustle of hotels and the commercialism. Its all there for you when YOU want it, a short country drive away. Enjoy the energy of the forest and nature and at the same time your patronage helps provide the care and welfare of the rescued animals on site (as well as any other rescue situations that come our way). Be a part of it 'all' in so many different aspects than the everyday traveler experiences now a days. We are unique!

What makes this cabin unique

For more photos, and a 'feel' for what we have created please ask about our website - truly a retreat, yet all the modern comforts and facilities, and so much more! Even the locals come for a visit.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Arriving at The Hoblet was exactly what we needed. We loved the feeling of having our own little space nestled in the woods. A little bridge and walkway with animals to greet us for our stay and early rise. Having an Infrared Sauna in the comfort of our own room was a special treat to say the least. The circle of stones surrounding a fire pit was an excellent way to wind down our night. This is a very beautiful place to relax, unwind, detox and be in nature. I would recommend a stay at The Hoblet to anyone interested in doing just that. Glad we found it and will be staying here again the next time we are in Niagara.

Magical Place

  • 5 of 5

This is a magical place and Petra is a magical woman. My husband, daughter and I stayed here while visiting Niagra Falls. Our stay was just as spectacular as the falls.

Warm, friendly, unique, and comforting stay.

  • 5 of 5

The Hoblet is an experience I am confident doesn't exist anywhere else. The cozy bright cottage, the experience with the animals, and the hosts make it a truly wonderful holiday. Our children, 3 and 5, enjoyed it immensely and made permanent happy memories. Thanks Petra and Mush for a wonderful weekend.

charming, comfortable and welcoming!

  • 5 of 5

Petra and Mush (and all of their animals) were such welcoming hosts during our stay! The Hoblet is so unbelievably charming and cozy and we felt immediately at home. Though the main house is in sight, our privacy was never in question and with a lovely view of garden and woods from the plentiful windows in the main room of the Hoblet, it truly felt like we were in the middle of nowhere! When we were ready to take in the sights, however, it was a quick 15-20 minute drive to restaurants, Walmart, and the Falls. The Hoblet is so homey and comfortable; with no cable or wifi, it was lovely to be "unplugged" for a while, though there is a huge DVD collection for enjoyment when you're ready to settle down in the evening.

We hope to take another trip back in the not too distant future and absolutely plan to stay here again!

Owner's Response: ...thanks so much for your review, we sure enjoyed having you! Just wanted to mention that we do have wifi available (upon request and some conditions apply), BUT we do try to encourage the unplugged experience! Hope to see you in the fall, best time of year in Niagara! Thanks again.

Peaceful and relaxing environment.

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at the 'Hoblet'. Petra is extremely kind and generous with sharing her knowledge and experience about Niagara Falls and the surrounding areas. She is worth the cost of staying here by herself. She offered several great tips that helped us to better plan our days and even save money. We really enjoyed getting to know her.

In addition to her expertise, you also get to enjoy the 'Hoblet' which is very cozy and well taken care. It is the most unique experience we have had with a rental, and we will never forget it. Our 2 year old absolutely loved the animals and would talk about them every day we were there. It was so much more relaxing to stay away from the hustle and bustle of the busier areas. Petra has perfected the ability to create a "retreat" for people to take their minds off regular day stuff and enjoy nature. Also, it was only 15 min from the Falls and most other places we needed to get to. Only downside to the Hoblet is for someone with really young children as there is only 1 bedroom. We knew this going in so I expected the challenge. Our 2 year old needs a separate space, otherwise he will not sleep well if we are in the same room so we ended up sleeping on the couches. Again, our choice so I don't fault anyone but ourselves, but just a reminder for couples with young children who have similar situations. One other suggestion, we got the adventure pass and if we could do it again...we would just get the hornblower ticket as the other 3 were rather disappointing but that's just our opinion. Many other things to spend your money on in the area :-).

Hope to return at some point in the future - by ourselves or with older children :-). Thank you Petra!

Wonderful Retreat from the City

  • 5 of 5

We had the pleasure of staying in this gorgeous getaway for a couple of days last week. Petra and Mush are very warm and made our stay fantastic. The fire pit with the twinkly lights is really something to be experienced. You won't regret it! The animals are super friendly, and kept our teenage girls busy, especially Sheldon and Schpecky the pot bellied pigs. They were adorable!

This was also one of the cleanest farms that I have ever seen. Everything was spotless.

We will definitely be back, and bring the rest of the family.

Thank you so much!

idyllic getaway!

  • 5 of 5

This is the second time we've been to the Hoblet and it was just as great as the first! Petra is an amazing hostess, and the animals make the experience exciting, fun and relaxing! The Hoblet is clean, in a convenient location, and has a great little kitchen which made it possible for us to have time in to completely relax. The sauna is a lovely perk and we even got to use the hammock on a sunny afternoon. We will definitely be back to the Hoblet sometime soon and couldn't recommend it enough!

As we resque donkeys (and 'anyone' else in need, our latest arrival is Sheldon the pot belly pig) we find our guests enjoy the spirit of the animals. Included in a 2 (or more) night stay is a 'meet & greet' with the animals. One on one time and supervised by ourselves to introduce you to the animals that have found a home here. Groom them, hear their stories, and learn what is involved in taking in an animal. Many of our guests have commented on learning information about certain animals that has effected their decision on which animal would fit in their situation and which would not. Great photo time as well. This feature is totally optional. Some our guests barely have time to see all the sights in the area. When you check it just let us know if you would like to schedule a 'meet & greet'..

Also your hostess, Petra, is a certified hatha yoga instructor, if you wish to do a private class while here call for details, a 90 minute private one on one class for your party is $30.00 (Cad)
