Niagara Falls Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, 1 Bedroom + Other (See Description), 1 Bath, sleeps 4 (2 adults,2 kids)

Just a 14 minute drive from the brink of Niagara Falls! Our 'hoblet' has the look of a woodsy cabin, but is spacious and modern. 600 sq. feet in total with a large studio living room, separate bedroom and a bathroom with a built in 2 seater far infrared sauna. Outside is viewed through 5 sets of double glass patio doors & 3 skylights.Your retreat includes breakfast, via a lightly stocked kitchen and all the ammenities. The green living roof is very special. Your 'yard' is a hardwood forest with a small stream running through. Beautifully landscaped out in the country yet only 15 minutes from the brink of the falls with emphasis on nature and good energy. On site and for your viewing is our equine rescue, home to 7 donkeys, 1 mule, 2 pot belly piggies, and 2 wonderful, friendly little goats, (2 dogs). Your rental is completely private from the main house, has its own driveway with a delightful walk through the trees and past the 'circle of elements', a great fire pit with boulders encompassing that space.

Wonderful walks by the forest, ponds, & stream all help to create a very special energy in and around the 'cabin'. Your host, Petra, has received the Ambassador of Tourism Award from the Canadian government during her eight years as a professional tour guide in Niagara Falls, now Petra spends her free time looking after the donkeys and animals, and her guests. Please see our website for more photos of the 'space' and the surrounding area, we look forward to meeting you!

For our guests staying 2night or more, a wonderful one hour 'Meet and Greet the Animlas' is included with your stay. Spend some one on one time with your favorite donkey. The emphasis is on nature here enjoy the views and the animals.

About The Owner

I have over 8 years experience as a professional tour guide in Niagara Falls. And a proud recipient of the Ambassador of Tourism Award from the Canadian government. We share our 'space' with 2 dogs, and 7 equines, 2 pot belly pigs named Sheldon and Shpeck, and 2 little, sweet goats; Monty and George. We are passionate about animal welfare, and preserving nature. I speak conversational Spanish and German. Having lived and worked in seven countries, and having travelled extensively I believe my husband and I have come to understand what our national and international guest would appreciate and expect in their travels. We look forwarding to helping you see all the Niagara Peninsula has to offer, there is so much more than just the falls. (Plus our tricks of the trade can help you save money, time and aggravation).

Why The Owner chose Ontario

Avoid the hustle of hotels and the commercialism. Its all there for you when YOU want it, a short country drive away. Enjoy the energy of the forest and nature and at the same time your patronage helps provide the care and welfare of the rescued animals on site (as well as any other rescue situations that come our way). Be a part of it 'all' in so many different aspects than the everyday traveler experiences now a days. We are unique!

What makes this cabin unique

For more photos, and a 'feel' for what we have created please ask about our website - truly a retreat, yet all the modern comforts and facilities, and so much more! Even the locals come for a visit.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Arriving at The Hoblet was exactly what we needed. We loved the feeling of having our own little space nestled in the woods. A little bridge and walkway with animals to greet us for our stay and early rise. Having an Infrared Sauna in the comfort of our own room was a special treat to say the least. The circle of stones surrounding a fire pit was an excellent way to wind down our night. This is a very beautiful place to relax, unwind, detox and be in nature. I would recommend a stay at The Hoblet to anyone interested in doing just that. Glad we found it and will be staying here again the next time we are in Niagara.

THE best getaway to relax and/or enjoy the nearby attractions.

Just returned from our fourth yearly sisters' getaway to The Hoblet. My only regret is not being able to stay longer or visit more often (we are 6 hours away). If you are looking for a unique, relaxing getaway, this is THE place to stay. From the beautiful woodsy setting to the cozy cabin with all the ammenities, you really have to experience it to feel the peacefulness and tranquility The Hoblet offers. The animals add even more charm and I look so forward to seeing them each year! You will not meet nicer, more accommodating hosts - Petra and Mush bend over backwards to make your stay memorable. I can honestly say you will not find a better getaway - it is truly amazing.

Unique experience

  • 5 of 5

This cottage is so perfect for decompressing, relieving stress, and cooling off. A perfect home base for the Niagara Falls and other area points of interest. The falls are great, but one of the unique experiences was seeing an enormous ship go through the Welland locks. The entire area including the "hoblet" is so well landscaped, such beautiful plants, trees, and flowers. The "hoblet" animals are so charming, as well as Petra and Mush. We could not have had a better trip to Canada, the weather was great also. Anyone that gets to visit this place is truly lucky. Thank you Petra and Mush, how kind and generous you are to share your oasis.

My husband and I loved staying here! So much so we are returning in three months. It's comfortable, relaxing and peaceful. The animals are amazing. Monty and George are hilarious and so much fun to watch. I am very thankful that we found this little Gem!

We absolutely enjoyed our time at the Hoblet. Petra and Mush go above and beyond to make sure everything is comfortable for your stay. Petra is very knowledgeable about the region which is a great bonus. And anyone who loves animals will enjoy the animal family . Monty and George are the most gentle docile goats we have ever met. You won't be disappointed if you choose the Hoblet as your home away from home !!!

Beautiful Home-away-from-home

  • 4 of 5

We stayed five nights while visiting Niagara Falls and the area. The Hoblet was a perfect and special place for us to stay.

The Hoblet was clean... no, spotless, upon our arrival and Petra was so willing to provide any extras that we needed.

I would say my only wish was that we had more time to spend at The Hoblet. We had so much to see in the area we left early most mornings and returned just in time to prepare dinner and collapse from exhaustion :) . We intended to sit by the fire pit, but never found the time. The porch was our favorite dining room. We ate nearly every meal out there enjoying the atmosphere.

Bring apples and carrots for the critters. George and Monty (the goats) greet you every time you walk past. They are really full of character. We visited the mules and donkeys regularly and gave them a good head scratch daily, along with a snack on occasion.

Peaceful, Quiet and Beautiful.

  • 5 of 5

We had our girls weekend at the Hoblet and it was the best girls weekend to date! We've already booked for next year and can't wait to go back!! Petra was a great host, very welcoming and charismatic. Her enthusiasm for her animals was contagious. We loved visiting and feeding them, it was one of the highlights of our stay.

The cabin has the best of both worlds, privacy and seclusion but at the same time we felt secure knowing our hosts were close and available if needed.

I would recommend the Hoblet to anyone looking to stay at their own private paradise in the woods.

As we resque donkeys (and 'anyone' else in need, our latest arrival is Sheldon the pot belly pig) we find our guests enjoy the spirit of the animals. Included in a 2 (or more) night stay is a 'meet & greet' with the animals. One on one time and supervised by ourselves to introduce you to the animals that have found a home here. Groom them, hear their stories, and learn what is involved in taking in an animal. Many of our guests have commented on learning information about certain animals that has effected their decision on which animal would fit in their situation and which would not. Great photo time as well. This feature is totally optional. Some our guests barely have time to see all the sights in the area. When you check it just let us know if you would like to schedule a 'meet & greet'..

Also your hostess, Petra, is a certified hatha yoga instructor, if you wish to do a private class while here call for details, a 90 minute private one on one class for your party is $30.00 (Cad)
