Come see what island life is like on Little Gasparilla Island and experience island living in this beautiful condo! Start your getaway with a short ferry ride across the Intracoastal Waterway to the Hideaway Bay Beach Club. Our unit is only a stones throw from the ferry landing, boat dock and swimming pool. Seven miles of pristine beaches await you along the Gulf of Mexico; just a few minutes walk through the complex.
On Little Gasparilla, you will find a slower lifestyle that will refresh the soul and recharge the batteries. This unit is actively used by the owners so you will find it lives and feels like a home and not a rental unit.
On the island: Seven miles of pristine beaches offer ideal shelling conditions. Fish for snook, redfish, pompano and tarpon. Watch dolphins frolic and reach out and touch the occasional manatee. Swim, dive or boat in the bay or the Gulf, or both.
My family of 4 had a fantastic stay on LGI! We weren't sure how we'd like having to plan around the ferry schedule, but it ended up being fine. The ferry was run efficiently and most of the passengers seemed to be regulars with good insights they are happy to share. The proximity of the condo to the ferry is very convenient. My husband took his coffee every morning to the dock and sat and watched the fish jump and the dolphins swim by.
The condo was spotless and well maintained. Beds were comfortable and bedding and towels were nice. The kitchen was well appointed and had everything we needed. I did use a big pot for making a salad because I couldn't locate a big enough bowl, so even though we got by without it (or I just overlooked it), a big, over-sized bowl would be a nice addition. We brought a few bags of ice but really didn't need them because the ice machine in the freezer worked great. The bathrooms each had a small basket with often forgotten travel toiletries, which was very nice. LOVED having the washer/dryer in the condo...so nice to be able to dry beach towels and wash clothes.
Bring charcoal if you are planning to grill!
The walk to the beach is about 5 minutes and not bad at all. We rented a golf cart for 2 of the days and it made carting the beach chairs and gear much nicer. If/when we go back, we'll definitely rent one again because it was fun to be able to tour the island.
We all went for a run practically every day and each took different routes around the island on the "streets" and beach. The mornings were relatively cool and the island paths are mostly shaded. There's a quaint chapel not far from the condo complex that apparently holds services on Sundays...our stay didn't include a Sunday morning so we didn't get to attend, but the building itself is charming.
The unit is across from the pool and I never was bothered by the noise...by any noise in the complex, actually. There's a makeshift library in the pool area with a decent selection, as well as magazines and videos (VHS). I'm not sure what the borrowing rules are, but I took a book for the drive home and left one that I read during our stay in its place.
There are 6 or 7 beach towels that weren't fabulous, but they worked, and it saved us carting them down. I would recommend bringing your own beach chairs. They have 2 that are old, uncomfortable and heavy.
I highly recommend not only LGI, but also this condo.
A casual well maintained condo. This is our 2nd year and we've already signed up for next year.
Another great month at LGI. We love coming down to fish and to look for and collect as many shells as we can. The condo has everything we need to make our stay just perfect. Thank you for sharing your condo with us.
We had a wonderful stay in the Hideaway Condo A-6. The condo was clean, nice decor, comfortable and convenient. The check in and out process was easy. Access to the intercoastal waterway with free docking, lovely pool view and short walk to the beach. We look forward to another wonderful trip in our future.
So impressed with the island, property, and home rental! Place was a little dated but overall very clean and comfortable. It included many amenities, which made our stay much easier. Kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms were fully equipped. There were even seasoning items, paper towels, and toilet paper. Enough linens and comforters. There were about 7 nice sized beach towels, 4 beach chairs, like-new stacked washer and dryer, radio, and flat screened television. Arrival was made easy. Must board ferry at 12000 Placida Rd. at Hideaway Beach Club Owners (Google Maps). Fill out car registration, which is located in little hut. Put decal on car, which parking is directly across the street. Load belongings on carts that are provided there and wait for ferry. Ferry runs every two hours, make sure you have everything you need so you won't have to go back to mainland. Publix is only a 3-4 miles from ferry. But other than that, everything else is about 20-30 minutes away. Unit A-6 was spacious and comfortable and Scott was great to work with. We rented a golf cart from LGI Carts #941-697-3820, and Deric was awesome. He delivered cart with no hassle and very affordable ($50/day). The unit is next to pool, ferry launch, and marina. Very convenient, including wifi from pool building that we were able to access from almost everywhere. Beach is a little bit of a walk, so the cart came in handy for carrying all beach essentials. We had a blast and would rent again!!!!!
We had a wonderful vacation on Little Gasparilla Island. The condo was perfect for the two of us and there is certainly room for at least two more people. It is conveniently located near the pool and a quarter mile walk from the beach. The owners provided us with everything we needed including plenty of beach towels, beach chairs, outdoor charcoal grill, and the basic necessities for the kitchen and baths. The entire condo was clean and well-maintained. Although we didn't use the second floor bedroom, we found it spacious and light and appealing. The beach was wonderful; clean sand and clear blue/green water. No crowds! Just a few friendly people!
Nearby: The mainland and world famous Boca Grande are a short boat ride away. There you will find fishing guides, boat rentals, restaurants, golf, nightlife, shopping, and sight seeing.
