Great place for a ski trip!

  • 5 of 5

This rental was absolutely perfect! Mike is a very accommodating host, "check in" was a breeze and the house was spotless, with plenty of entertainment and cook ware. It's a great place for ski trips (can comfortably fit 4 couples), with plenty of space for gear. The wood stove is a nice addition and was great for warming up boots and gloves. I would HIGHLY recommend this property!

A quiet get away.

  • 4 of 5

The house was set in the woods with a large lawn area. It was great for our dogs and a nice quiet spot to relax. Jay Peak was minutes away and we enjoyed the beautiful golf course and great places to eat.

We had a very nice stay at The Amidon House

  • 5 of 5

This property was perfect for a last minute Memorial Weekend getaway. There was only two bedrooms but they were both pretty big. The kitchen was pretty standard and definitely had enough dishes and cookware for our family of 6. Our oldest son slept on the pullout couch and said it was nice for a pullout. It was the type of place where we could leave our two dogs relaxing on the porch all day and our kids playing the yard with no worries. The porch was especially nice and allowed us sit and look out at the beautiful property. Highly recommended.

Spring in Vermont is beautiful, perfect spot!

  • 5 of 5

This place was perfect for a last minute getaway on a budget. The midweek price in May was only $150 per night and we got a lot for our money. The cabin is very private and we loved the entire property. Both mornings a group of wild turkey came through the yard while my girlfriend and I were having coffee. One of the two evenings a doe and her fawn were just hanging out at the far end of the yard. The cabin was very close to a bunch of hiking trails but some of the nicest hikes we had were just across the road down to the river.

The inside of the cabin was great too. The furnishing were all nice and fairly new feeling. There was a couple nice tv's and wifi but we didn't use them because we had agreed to "unplug" for the trip. The kitchen was very well stocked with pots and pans ect.

This cabin would be perfect for families or individuals who love nature or just want to get out of the city for a bit.

Can't say enough great things!

  • 5 of 5

What a great vacation! The mountain still had decent spring skiing and when not on the mountain The Amidon House was perfect. The property had a giant wrap around porch where we sat and watched the sunset most evenings. During the day the guys played horse shoes and at night we all sat around the fire (it was a little chilly.) The grill was very nice and seemed almost brand new. There was also a Tiki Bar out by the horse shoe pits which would have probably been pretty cool for a younger crowd but we didn't use it.

We found the inside very clean upon our arrival. The cabin was tastefully decorated with interesting wall art and leather couches. The kitchen had lots of cook and dishware. The mattresses, pillows and lines were all in good shape, not just a collection of stuff that no one wanted in their own home like other houses we've rented.

The manager was fast to respond with recommendations for places to eat and things to do besides the resort. My family and I have already discussed coming back later this summer and staying here again!
