Beautiful Ocean Front --Cabin

Bedrooms 3
Space 2,000 sq. ft.
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

Cabin, 3 Bedrooms + Attached Unit, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 8)

This is an old cabin on a secluded 4 acres that has been renovated. It is very comfortable and has a tremendous view of the ocean. There is a rocky path down the cliffs to the ocean for tide pool looking and for fishing but children should be kept back from the edges of the property bordering the ocean as the cliffs might crumble. There is a beach about 1/4 mile away that can be walked to. Guests must provide own linens and towels and take home garbage. This keeps the cost of the rental down. Its one of the best spots on the coast.

We are about 1 mile south of FB.

Since the property is up for sale it can be shown by appointment only and it may be shown while renters are there. There would be an advance notification.

Beyond my expectations!!

  • 5 of 5

We had a very nice stay at the cabin... the view alone was worth the price of the rental. It is a humble but homey dwelling, and based on other reviews I knew what to expect. Very reminiscent of my family's cabin back in the day. The vista from the red bench is stunningly beautiful and we spent a lot of time out there. It had been 10 years since my last visit to the coast but I yearn to return next year for another stay at this rental!!!

Rustic, ocean-front cabin in an excellent location

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed this spot for our weekend away -- a cozy cabin with stunning ocean views, perfectly situated between Fort Bragg and Mendocino Village. The cabin had all the basics we needed. Dolores was very responsive and made coordinating our stay very easy.

The ocean view is incredible! The cabin is quaint and comfortable.

  • 4 of 5

I would definitely stay here again because the view of the ocean is amazing. The property is quiet and private with woods on one side and ocean on the other. While the cabin is comfortable, it is old and outdated. If you are a "hotel snob," you should know this in advance so you are not disappointed. I love that this cabin was pet friendly which is good reason not to have new and expensive furnishings, etc. If you are used to a large tv and cannot live without it, bring your own. The ocean and woodsy property makes up for a small tv, though. Take advantage of that and keep the tv off. Bring fresh water as the water has some rust but not an issue other than for drinking. The cabin has two rooms that I would consider "master" bedrooms with queen beds. It has another large room with bunk beds, a twin, and a full. This room is great for 4 - 5 other people. The cabin is close to central Fort Bragg with cute shops and restaurants. Fish and chips and beer in the Noyo Fishing Center and Wharf where we sat outdoors and watched the fishermen come in and seals (or sea lions??) was the best.

There is a cleaning fee, per pet fee, and a service fee (from VRBO, I think) that is added to the nightly rate which adds to the overall cost of the rental. This is good to keep in mind when budgeting.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. It was very accurate. We have filter on the water storage tank but rust has been a problem.

Secluded yet so close to town

  • 5 of 5

This place grows and grows on you so as you never want to leave. Yes it is rustic, refined it is not, but that's part of the charm. What is really lovely is the location which is minutes from Fort Bragg, yet ultra private and slap bang on the wild coast.

Sipping mimosas outside on a sunny morning with the sea at your feet is cathartic. The fire in the evening, sipping a red wine with friends reflecting on the days excursions is perfect relaxation.

Do take your own drinking water. Will we be back? Most definitely!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. I found out when I had the filter changed after this renter had left that we had to replace the pressure tank and the water had bypassed the filter. Hopefully the water will be a lot better.
