About the property

Cabin, 3 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 6-8)

Welcome to our cabin on the Holy Waters of the Au Sable River that sits on 5 acres of wooded property and offers you everything you could possibly want to escape into the peaceful serenity that Northern Michigan offers. Whether it is FISHING, HIKING, GOLFING, SNOWMOBILING, KAYAKING or simply escaping to a peaceful and relaxing environment, our cabin will suit your needs.

We're located on a prime stretch of the Holy Waters, a 'flies only', 'catch and release' section nationally recognized by people all over the world. Simply walk out the front door and wade into the river and experience the pleasure of fishing in the world class Au Sable River.

For those of you that enjoy winter sports, the cabin is located inside the snow-belt region of Michigan. The annual snowfall in this region is significant and the snowmobiling you will experience is nothing short of spectacular. We have taken advantage of riding right from the cabin to both the Grayling and Gaylord snowmobile trail systems. The convenience of not having to trailer your snowmobiles to a trailhead is a luxury you can experience while staying in this cabin.

Our cabin is located within minutes from charming downtown Grayling where you can visit the quaint shops and restaurants. Other nearby attractions include Forest Dunes Golf Club which was just ranked #1 public golf course in America (10 minutes), Mackinac Island (85 miles north), Hartwick Pines State Park (15 minutes) Hanson Hills Ski Resort/Park (10 minutes), Gaylord/Traverse City/Lake Michigan/Petoskey and many others.

The cabin offers 3 bedrooms and one bathroom. The master bedroom has a queen bed while the other two rooms have oversized built in bunk beds. There are also 2 daybeds in the great room. We offer a full kitchen with new appliances. All beds include linens and towels are provided.

We hope you enjoy the cabin as much as we do and hope you are able to create your own memories here.

Peaceful and Beautiful

  • 5 of 5

We reviewed many cabins and decided on this one due to location of our xc skiing weekend plans. We arrived late Friday night. The directions provided where perfect. When we got to the cabin we were vey pleased. It was warm, clean, comfortable, and waiting for us.

After we unpacked we bundled up, turned off all the lights and stepped outside to see the billions of stars. WOW!

We cooked our own meals and the kitchen had everything basic that was needed. We also brought a slow cooker so that when we returned from xc skiing, we had dinner waiting for us.

Our dogs came with us and they loved the place as well. We took them out to walk the property several times and the property offered room for exploring. The river spans the entire back yard of the property and theres a smaller river along the front of the property. No neighbors to see and plenty of trees. As someone else reported, pictures don't do this place justice. We really want to come see it during summer months and explore the river.

If you're looking to get away, without internet or TV, this place will satisfy that. There was a small radio in the cabin so we listened to NPR while sitting on the day beds looking out the large windows into the back yard. We saw deer each day that we were there.

The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was nice. Perfect family time!

Thank you for offering your cabin to us. It's location and surroundings pleased us very much.

Nice clean cabin with all the comforts of home. Location is wonderful right by river nice and private. We where deer hunting but didn't have any success. My favorite spot was the large window sets with the beautiful river view. Lots of snow very pretty this time of year.

Lovely Cabin, lovely area!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I just returned from a 3 night getaway. We weren't familiar with the area in advance, and were pleasantly surprised! The area is lovely, and the cabin location couldn't be better, as it was private with a great view of the river. We were able to hike and canoe during the day, then return to the lovely cabin. We took full advantage of the bar-b-que grill and firepit every evening for dinner, smores and conversation! One of the reasons I picked this cabin was based on number of 5 stars given and it turned out to be a good choice. The cabin was clean, and comfortable. We especially liked the 2 day beds in the living room, since my teens could each have one, leaving the couch available for the adults. The kitchen had everything we needed, except a dishwasher and garbage disposal. Was concerned about only 1 bathroom for four of us, but it all worked out. Also a previous reviewer mentioned that the cabin doesn't have air conditioning and we found it was not needed due to the cool evening breezes. (There are room fans). The large front windows afforded two lovely views of the river which we very much enjoyed, especially since a pair of red breasted robins live in the front meadow. We would love to return!l Also Owner was extremely responsive.

Secluded and Romantic

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary here and we couldn't be happier with the property! The cabin is very comfortable and we slept well in the master bedroom. Our dogs enjoyed racing around the property. We utilized the grill, fire pit and fireplace while there. Happy with all. We also did some catch and release fishing in the river and caught a bunch of little trout. Not bad considering we had never fished in our adult lives and brought poles that we borrowed from family. It is only an hour drive from Traverse City (lots of wineries) and there is a great place to eat right in Grayling called Spike's Keg of Nails. We would highly recommend this cabin and cannot wait to return!

Wonderful Retreat

We were very pleased with our recent stay at the cabin. It was very secluded and private. The cabin was clean and well maintained. It was centrally located in the heart of northern michigan and very close to numerous state park hiking and biking trails.
