Northern Michigan Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, 3 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 6-8)

Welcome to our cabin on the Holy Waters of the Au Sable River that sits on 5 acres of wooded property and offers you everything you could possibly want to escape into the peaceful serenity that Northern Michigan offers. Whether it is FISHING, HIKING, GOLFING, SNOWMOBILING, KAYAKING or simply escaping to a peaceful and relaxing environment, our cabin will suit your needs.

We're located on a prime stretch of the Holy Waters, a 'flies only', 'catch and release' section nationally recognized by people all over the world. Simply walk out the front door and wade into the river and experience the pleasure of fishing in the world class Au Sable River.

For those of you that enjoy winter sports, the cabin is located inside the snow-belt region of Michigan. The annual snowfall in this region is significant and the snowmobiling you will experience is nothing short of spectacular. We have taken advantage of riding right from the cabin to both the Grayling and Gaylord snowmobile trail systems. The convenience of not having to trailer your snowmobiles to a trailhead is a luxury you can experience while staying in this cabin.

Our cabin is located within minutes from charming downtown Grayling where you can visit the quaint shops and restaurants. Other nearby attractions include Forest Dunes Golf Club which was just ranked #1 public golf course in America (10 minutes), Mackinac Island (85 miles north), Hartwick Pines State Park (15 minutes) Hanson Hills Ski Resort/Park (10 minutes), Gaylord/Traverse City/Lake Michigan/Petoskey and many others.

The cabin offers 3 bedrooms and one bathroom. The master bedroom has a queen bed while the other two rooms have oversized built in bunk beds. There are also 2 daybeds in the great room. We offer a full kitchen with new appliances. All beds include linens and towels are provided.

We hope you enjoy the cabin as much as we do and hope you are able to create your own memories here.

Lovely Cabin, lovely area!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I just returned from a 3 night getaway. We weren't familiar with the area in advance, and were pleasantly surprised! The area is lovely, and the cabin location couldn't be better, as it was private with a great view of the river. We were able to hike and canoe during the day, then return to the lovely cabin. We took full advantage of the bar-b-que grill and firepit every evening for dinner, smores and conversation! One of the reasons I picked this cabin was based on number of 5 stars given and it turned out to be a good choice. The cabin was clean, and comfortable. We especially liked the 2 day beds in the living room, since my teens could each have one, leaving the couch available for the adults. The kitchen had everything we needed, except a dishwasher and garbage disposal. Was concerned about only 1 bathroom for four of us, but it all worked out. Also a previous reviewer mentioned that the cabin doesn't have air conditioning and we found it was not needed due to the cool evening breezes. (There are room fans). The large front windows afforded two lovely views of the river which we very much enjoyed, especially since a pair of red breasted robins live in the front meadow. We would love to return!l Also Owner was extremely responsive.

Secluded and Romantic

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary here and we couldn't be happier with the property! The cabin is very comfortable and we slept well in the master bedroom. Our dogs enjoyed racing around the property. We utilized the grill, fire pit and fireplace while there. Happy with all. We also did some catch and release fishing in the river and caught a bunch of little trout. Not bad considering we had never fished in our adult lives and brought poles that we borrowed from family. It is only an hour drive from Traverse City (lots of wineries) and there is a great place to eat right in Grayling called Spike's Keg of Nails. We would highly recommend this cabin and cannot wait to return!

Wonderful Retreat

  • 4 of 5

We were very pleased with our recent stay at the cabin. It was very secluded and private. The cabin was clean and well maintained. It was centrally located in the heart of northern michigan and very close to numerous state park hiking and biking trails.

Fantastic Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I used the cabin for our honeymoon. It is a beautiful location and the cabin is amazing. It has 1 master bedroom that is quite large and 2 smaller bedrooms both with bunk beds. 2 nice days beds in the giant livingroom/dining room combo. A big comfortable couch and 2 other nice chairs plus a rocking chair in the bedroom. It was very well decorated and had all the amenities i could have wanted. Very cozy with the fireplace, we made a fire everyday and they have a huge stack of firewood for your use which is nice. The river is right there off the huge yard. There is a huge expanse of area around the cabin that is part of the property. I never saw anyone in the area although there are some other cabins somewhat in the vicinity. Very private for a romantic getaway, but also a good dose of nature and good accommodations for a family. I would highly recommend it to anyone! Its only about a 10 minute drive to get to downtown grayling where there are little shops and restaurants. We are already making plans to go back again! I do not think you could find a better value dollar for dollar anywhere. Really beautiful and the cabin is spacious and well done.

Beautiful and Relaxing!

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from a week's stay at the cabin. It is as depicted, well equipped and clean. The river is just a few steps away and the wildlife abounds. We had a doe and her two fawns on the lawn each morning with a few others as well. While sitting inside on a rainy morning, saw our first bald eagle flying over the river...quite a sight!

The beds were extremely comfortable and I actually slept better there than at home. As mentioned in a few other reviews, there is no cable or internet so note that if those things are important to you. We didn't miss it really. My husband went into town for his internet fix at Thanks a Latte.

We did miss having a pot large enough for ear corn so we went and bought one. We left it there so others after us will have one available.

The sheets and towels were top notch and the furnishing comfortable. There is a charcoal grill and outside table and chairs which were a nice perk as well.

All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone who would like a peaceful cabin to relax and rewind.
