One double bedroom super king size bed, and en suite shower room and view over garden. One double bedroom with 2 double beds and en suite bathroom with bath tub.

Safe and friendly neighbourhood with convenience store, cafe, bakery, flower shop, and drycleaners at the end of the street plus buses to central London close by. 7 minute walk to nearest Subway, Ladbroke Grove, or Latimer Road. Walk to Portobello market with all its restaurants, bars and trendy shops. One subway stop to Westfield shopping centre with all the designer stores. 10 minute cab ride to Paddington and Heathrow Express or 40 minute cab ride to Heathrow.

Terrific place to stay!

We stayed at Ian and Bunty's London apartment over the Christmas and New Year's Holidays for about three weeks. (There were two couples and a teenager.) When we arrived to the location, Ian was there to meet us and show us around and make us feel welcome. Both Ian and Bunty were easy to get a hold of before and during our stay to answer questions. (Can we have show tickets delivered here? Where is the nearest place to get a Christmas tree? Where are some good local places to eat?) They were so helpful and had some great recommendations for us.

The apartment itself is lovely and quaint, and my favorite parts were the bright bay window in the living area, and the window in the downstairs bedroom that overlooks a park area. (I watched a family of foxes - cubs and all - several times out the window!) It is in a convenient location, within walking distance of two tube stations, and easy to get a ride from a taxi using an app. The kitchen is small, but well-equipped, and we were able to eat some nice dinners together as a family. (Thanks to my sister-in-law and brother-in-laws great cooking skills!).

The things I would be aware of are: 1) the stairs, because there are two levels to climb and they are a bit steep; and 2) there is a bit of a walk to the tube station. Under normal circumstances, these things are no big deal. However, I had an unanticipated injury and found myself in a walking boot for my entire stay, and was a little frustrated at my inability to get around. If you have a hard time with walking, etc. I would just be prepared for that.

Something to note about the upper bedroom is that the ceiling is sloped in the bedroom itself and the upstairs bathroom. For a tall person, taking a shower is pretty uncomfortable. I am 5'8" and it was rough; though, there is a bathtub up there, and that was a nice perk. Most of the time, the five of us took turns in the downstairs shower, which was roomy and had a tall shower head for my 6'2" husband.

Overall, we had a terrific stay at Ian and Bunty's apartment, and we are grateful to them for their warm hospitality. The Portabello local, where the apartment is situated, is lovely for walking, shopping and eating, and serves as a fabulous home base when visiting London. I would definitely stay here again!

Owner's Response: So glad you enjoyed your stay, would just like to add London is a city like New York where space is at a premium and city folk walk! the staircase to the apartment is a normal stair rise nothing steep about it! the winding stair within the apartment to the charming upper double bedroom and bathroom ensuite is a little steep however it has never presented a problem to our many guests over the years perhaps your foot in a walking boot didn't help? this might also apply to the distance to the 2 convenient tube stations a mere 8 minute walk away, whilst buses are even closer. Thanks for being such great tenants hope to see you on your next visit to London.

Lovely apartment in excellent location

Bunty and Ian's apartment is an oasis of calm. It is as described on the website but is even more charming. We were three adults and had ample room. It is well equipped and extremely well presented. All dealings with the owners were pleasant and efficient. We were greeted in a very friendly fashion by Ian and although we did not meet Bunty in person we had a lot of positive and informative email interaction. The area is safe, pretty and well served with restaurants,cafes,shops and pubs. It is also easy to travel around London using the apartment as a base. The tube is only a 5/10 minute walk. I hope we will return in the near future.

Perfect vacation home! Cozy, equipped & welcoming

Welcoming for us means, Ian meeting us the moment we parked our car, introducing us to the flat, the neighborhood and him. It means getting to an apartment where you feel immediately at home: open to day light - a A quiet site after intensive sightseeing, spacious enough for family of 5 (the stairs could be a problem for elderly and toddlers), kitchen small but well equipped for all our needs . 8 minutes walk to an underground or bus station. Grocery, deli, bakery & cafe' just around the corner. Being in touch with Bunty and Ian before, during and even after our stay is remarkable! Highly recommended!

Excellent rental with a central but quiet location

Great find - only 20 mins by tube to Oxford St & 10mins walk to Portobello Market but in a quiet residential street. Ideal for us and Ian and Bunty were very hospitable. Will definitely be back.

Beautiful spacious apartment in Kensington and Chelsea

This rental is a gem. In the heart of Kensington and Chelsea, a short walk from Portobello Road. Our place had a lovely bedroom with a modern up to date bathroom, an enormous sitting room, a convenient kitchen with all amenities including a washer and dryer and a bedroom and bath upstairs had we needed it. The owners are two of the most delightful and caring people you will ever meet. The apartment is close by a Tube station and convenient to all parts of London. Plus there are some wonderful restaurants nearby. We particularly liked an Indian and another Italian restaurant within walking distance of this home. What more can we say? This is a real find and we're coming back again as soon as we can.

Very pleasant stay in London

In early June, my wife, our 2 sons (19 and 23) and I stayed at Bunty and Ian’s place for about a week. This was my first experience with this type of on-line rental and I was a bit apprehensive but everything turned out great and we had a very pleasant experience. The place is exactly as advertised in a quiet residential neighbourhood (café, bakery, convenience store at the end of the block) and a few minutes from two subway stations (and the tube goes everywhere in London). It is bright, spacious enough and clean. The master bedroom is beautiful and very comfortable. The first few days were unusually warm for London and the upstairs bedroom was hot with limited ventilation. Bunty provided a fan and one of our sons was OK with that but the other preferred to sleep on the couch in the airy living-room (he is an adaptable and experienced traveller-South America and Asia) so that was not a problem. The kitchen is small but well organized and fully equipped. We were able to do a few loads of laundry before moving on for the rest of our trip in England which was very convenient. On Saturday, we had a fun day at Portobello market (just a short walk away). We didn’t meet Ian as he was out of town but Bunty was lovely and very welcoming. I would definitely stay there again and recommend the place wholeheartedly.
