We LOVED our stay in the Rue de Solferino apartment!! It was EXACTLY what we had hoped for. We loved the apartment itself and loved our experience as "locals" in the city. It's a wonderful neighborhood and location for visitors, with the Metro and RER so close. And we just adored being so close to the Seine. The convenient location made it possible for us to do almost everything we had planned for our trip. And we can't praise Claudette and Marie-Noel enough. They provided the best level of service and hospitality available. Thank you both - so very much. We would love to return to Paris and "our" apartment there; we're hoping that airfares become more reasonable so that we can do so in the not-too-distant future. There were just three small things that need attention: (1) one of the two fluorescent lights in the bathroom was burned out when we arrived, and there were no spare bulbs, (2) the plug to the hair dryer is incompatible with the electrical outlet in the bathroom, so that the only place that it can be used is in the kitchen, and (3) the hand-held shower head will not stay in its "bracket;" we found that it would fall out into the bathtub on its own, even when there was no water running in the shower. These small things in no way affected the quality of our visit - I just thought that I should mention them. Thank you again - for everything. And we will be posting a very positive report on the TripAdvisor forum for Paris. Although we're a little tempted to keep your company "our little secret," we want everyone to know about you and to contact you before they make other arrangements for their trips to France.
My wife and I stayed in this apartment for six nights. It was just about perfect. It is light and airy, with a very well equipped kitchen, spacious and gracious living room/dining room (high ceilings, red silk walls, moldings- very 19th century) , and a comfortable bedroom. Also, the location can't be beat - a few hundred feet from the Musée D'orsay with a terrific bakery (Gosselin) around the corner, and a nearby taxi stand and Metro. You will not be disappointed!
We stayed at the Saint Germain apartment for 3 weeks. We enjoyed the apartment very much. The apartment was perfect. - offering free calls to US and excellent wireless internet. It was equipped with everything we needed. The property manager was extremely helpful and anwered all of our questions.
The apartment was very quiet with the exception of the wood floors, which were extremely noisy (we were able to hear the noise from the wood floors above us). The floor noise did not bother us; it was part of the ambiance. However, I think a renter ought to be aware of the floors if they are sensitive to sounds.
The neighborhood was just perfect. We walked everywhere. Excellent restaurants, markets, wine bars, and specialty food shops were very close. We were several blocks from the D'Orsay museum and the Seine, and a brisk walk to the Eiffel Tower.
We will definitely rent the apartment again. We will always use France: Homestyle.
