About The Owner

My name is Beth Barton. I live with my husband of 41 years, Don in Daytona Beach, Florida. We have two sons, Jason & Justin a daughter-in-law, Jennifer and two granddaughters, Kaylyn (age 13) and Ashlyn (age 13) and a grandson age 10. We both work full time and try to get up to Sugar during vacations.

The Owner purchased this condo in 2005

Why The Owner chose High Country & Blue Ridge Mountains

My husband Don and I had been vacationing many years at Sugar Mountain trying to escape from the summer heat in Daytona Beach. It was so nice to enjoy the small town atmosphere, cool weather in the summer and the beautiful scenery offered everywhere you go. We really enjoy the 4 seasons at Sugar Mountain and couldn't find a vacation we enjoyed more than these mountains. We were hooked, and just had to buy a 'PIECE OF PARADISE' here. Now we can share our home with others.

What makes this condo unique

The long range unobstructed, panoramic mountain views make this property very unique. This is NOT in a high rise!! We are one of four villas in the building. We are at 5,000 feet altitude and during the hot part of the summer it never gets above 73 degrees. The private wood deck is much larger than most decks around and lots of seating available. The villa is very comfortable with 2 recliners, a comfortable couch and a rocking chair. The 10' ceilings add to the feeling of space and the layout is large and open with lots of glass to take in the views. There are only a few steps to enter from the road and with a rail on each side for easy access.

We are only a 7 minute drive down the mountain to Banner Elk, near all the ammenities.

Beautiful views in November!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at the condo. We did a lot of driving and hiking, making the most of the great location - Blue Ridge Parkway, Grandfather Mountain, Linville Falls, Price Lake, downtown Boone, downtown Blowing Rock, even Asheville - all over the course of 4 days, and there was still time for relaxing at the condo. Part of our stay was during the week, and in early November traffic was low. We had no trouble getting around. Beth was a great host checking in on us while we were there. She also provided a nice list of restaurants in the Banner Elk area. We hope to get out there again, and highly recommend Skyleaf!

Hiking Trip

  • 5 of 5

The pictures posted for this property really do it no justice. The view is unobstructed and absolutely beautiful. The condo is beautifully furnished and very clean...exceptionally clean! The location was central...we traveled to Boone in about 20 minutes...maybe less. Plenty to do nearby. The owners were fantastic to work with. Instructions to the property were easy and they also provided great suggestion for area restaurants. You really can't go wrong here. This place is a gem and the owners are fantastic to work with.

Weekend Ski Trip

  • 5 of 5

My 2 college-aged boys and I spent a fun long weekend at this condo and loved it! The location of the condo was great, very close to Sugar Mountain, restaurants and the grocery store, and we loved the cozy cabin feel of the condo. And the view was amazing! The boys snowboarded and I snowshoed at Sugar, we all did a great hike on the backside of Grandfather Mountain off the Blue Ridge Parkway, and enjoyed sampling at Grandfather Vineyards. Beth was very helpful and easy to work with. We'd definitely stay at this property again!

My husband, our 2 children and I said here for 4 days. The cabin is amazing and just as described. The views are breathtaking. The location is great! You are close to everything. We will definitely be staying again! Beth, the owner, is great to work with also. She was very helpful on things to do and places to eat in the area!

Can't wait for our next visit!!
