About Mary Jean Davies
As a native of New Orleans, I enjoy preserving the beautiful homes and architecture of the city and after Katrina, this Victorian has enjoyed several facelifts to bring it back to its intentional beauty.

Why Mary Jean Davies chose Touro
Location! Location! Location! And the home is so charming that I think others would appreciate all the fine Victorian architecture so fitting for this great city of New Orleans! Because of its location, you can try a broad range of ethnic and cultural restaurants which have been rated #1 or #2 by the community and even in the United States (i.e. Shaya). Many of the restaurants have been around for generations like Casamento's and Pascal Manales. There's live music venues such as Tipitina's, Le Bon Temps Roule, & Dos Jefes Uptown Cigar Bar. LaBoulingerie is a great French bakery within a short walking distance and there are four grocery stores (i.e. Rouse's, Whole Foods, WalMart & Winn Dixie) in the area, not to mention all the corner convenience stores. There are many fun things to do all within walking distance. Explore these establishments all within walking distance: Mona's, Baru: Petite Grocery, Lilette; Theo's pizza; Nirvana; Casamento's; Savvy Gourmet Restaurant; Superior Grill; Canon's; Magazine Perks; Le Bon Temps Roule; Ms. Mae's; world renown Tipitina's; eclectic shops on Magazine St. Very close (longer walk or short drive): Dick and Jenny's; La Crepe Nanou, Frankie's and Johnny's; Column's Hotel; Commander's Palace; Kyoto; Upperline Restaurant, Cafe Rani, August Moon; Mahoney's Po Boy Shop; Delachaise; Canon's Restaurants; Nacho Mama's; Reginelli's Pizzaria; Prytania Theatre; cemetaries, Garden District walking tours, Whole Foods and Rouse's. Streetcar ride: French Quarter, Convention center, Superdome, New Orleans Arena, Downtown, Audabon Park and Zoo, The River Walk, New Orleans Center, Amtrak train station, countless restaurants and shops.

Highly recommended !!
We had SUCH an amazing time in Uptown, NOLA. Our 2nd time staying here, and thanks so much to Liz & Mary Jean for another fabulous week.
Beautiful high ceilings and balcony, and close proximity to lots of restaurants and bars. We never went to the Quarter once this trip.
Can't wait to be back guys!
Thanks for everything :)
What a lovely little gem!
The location is fabulous - nice quiet safe neighborhood away from the noise but only 2 blocks to Magazine Street. The apartment is one of 3 or 4 in the building, and is very quiet and clean and cute.
Great location, clean, amazing vacation!
We found this property because we were in a very bad area and had to get out quickly. The owners responded VERY quickly and we were out of the bad situation within an hour. The property is a few blocks from great bars and restaurants and a quick ride to the festivities! I would definitely recommend this property! Thank you to the owners that were so willing to work with us and help us out!
Mary and Liz were wonderful in the stages of planning all the way through to when we were actually staying at the property.
The howes is located walking distance to Magazine St which is a wonderful place to visit cute shops and restaurants. And Bourbon St is a quick Uber ride away.
Great place that I will definitely keep in mind for a future visit to NOLA.
Myself and 7 friends stayed at this beautiful home on Napoleon Avenue for three nights. We were all able to sleep comfortably. There was a coffee pot and great fridge storage. There is walking distance to a grocery store and a few restaurants. Also walking distance to the trolley that we were able to take downtown. The owners Liz and MJ were easy to get ahold of and the instructions were great and on time!! I would definitely recommend this house.
Friendly owners and great home
We (a group of eight friends in our 20s) stayed at the Napoleon over Fourth of July weekend in 2015. Liz and Mary Jean were both very sweet and responsive throughout the process. The refrigerator broke down while we were there, but they kindly allowed us to access the refrigerator in the apartment next door. While the trolley line in the area was closed for construction while we were there, the house was still quite accessible by bus, and a good distance from the places we wanted to go. The house was comfortable, well-furnished, and a good size for us, although as a disclaimer, our group isn't particularly high-maintenance. We particularly enjoyed the outdoor grill (made ourselves some steaks to accompany our crawfish boil from Big Fisherman's). All-in-all we had a wonderful time in New Orleans and at the Napoleon, and would definitely recommend both! P.S. I really appreciated the handwritten card that came along with our returned security deposit. Thanks to you both for having us as guests!
Blocks from the historical Garden District where celebrities reside; near cruise terminals; on the parade route (priceless); near Audubon Park, the Audubon Zoo, Aquarium, Tipitina's within walking distance, 4 grocery stores in the nearby area besides corner stores, fantastic range of ethnic and cultural restaurants from casual to white linen, park for children within a block, French bakery within walking distance, and too many more to list....location, location, location!
