Why The Owner chose Olympic Peninsula

Port Townsend hosts the famous Wooden Boat Festival, The Jazz Festival and the quirky Kinetic Festival. Our town is a great place for relaxing, enjoying fine restaurants or beach walking. The house is 15 minutes away from Fort Worden, which is popular with visitors because of the beach. Port Townsend is part of the Olympic Rain Shadow/Banana Belt. Was just as described and exactly what we wanted

  • 5 of 5

A friend and I stayed there to celebrate our retirements. We wanted a location that was very quiet and private but also very close to town with amenities like restaurants, shopping and theaters. Guest Nest was this and more. The cottage was exceptionally well maintained and clean. The kitchen was more than fully equipped and the little extras like coffee and a basket of granola bars and trail mix were especially nice. We didn't use the Apple TV very much but it had a good selection of choices if we had wanted to watch it. Both beds were very comfortable and the walk-in shower was just what we wanted. We are definitely planning on staying at the Guest Nest again the next time we are in Port Townsend.

Just Right

  • 5 of 5

Cozy Nest was just the right size and very quiet. The kitchen was roomy and the island added significant workspace. We will definately book again next trip to Port Townsend. Bill and Lisa were excellent hosts.

Just right!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and two of his boating friends stayed here during a bit of a "working" boat trip. They all agreed that it was very comfortable, welcoming, and clean, and roomy enough for each of them to have their own space. They were able to meet the owners, and it's nice to know they're nearby - unlike "impersonal" hotel experiences. The location was great too - this isn't far from town (you could actually walk.) Having a functioning kitchen is a great way to avoid less-than-ideal "hotel breakfasts" and/or room service; it makes a huge difference, even if just for a few nights! Especially if someone has special dietary requirements (which one of the guys does, and it made things so much easier for him.) They were able to enjoy a nice breakfast together every morning.... They all agreed that it was a great place to relax after a long day, in a lovely private setting. (So relaxing that they even managed to do their laundry!)

My husband and I love VRBO / Home Away, and rarely use hotels anymore. All of them would definitely recommend staying here, and we plan to stay here next time we go up to Port Townsend!

The Guest Nest is the place to go for immaculate and serene accommodations

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the Guest Nest for 2 nights. After coming in from a long, cold, wet day, we walked into a preheated haven. Bill and Lisa had the place warmed up and ready to go for our arrival. The place was immaculately clean and very comfortable. We had everything we needed to prepare meals in the home, but we're close enough to town to be able to go out for a meal if we wanted. It was so private and peaceful. And a great location to be able to branch out on day trips and explore the area. Next time in Port Townsend, we will definitely return to the Guest Nest.
