Plus virtually unlimited parking for visitors, an RV, large boats, bikes or kayaks. No dangerous stairs up to a cramped second-story VRBO in an attic or over someone's garage; no staying in someone's damp basement; and no hassling with an unresponsive management company. It all just works here. Make your own meals in the full kitchen, enjoy the outdoor space and extras such as streaming TV, Netflix, ample parking for visitors and a separate laundry room. Park right next to the single-level house, which is safe and easy with only 3 porch steps and a walk-in shower. Stocked with videos and board games. When you take in the pleasures of our Victorian town, you can get anywhere in 10 minutes by car. Like to walk, run or bike? Reach the waterfront in 2 miles and ride along the harbor into downtown or follow the trail south from the house 7 miles through farm country to Discovery Bay. You're also adjacent to all the roads leading to the area's special attractions and don't have to drive through Port Townsend to start a side trip. Just get up and go.

Inside the Guest Nest you will find conveniences such as a full-size kitchen with dishwasher, refrigerator with ice maker, large microwave, coffee maker, tea kettle, toaster, stove/oven, crock pot and plenty of dishes, pots, pans and silverware to entertain family and friends. Two cozy bedrooms with forest views will welcome you at the end of a long day of recreation. One has a queen-size bed and convertible single futon sofabed; the other has a full-size log bed. The living room has a 42” HDTV with Apple TV streaming apps, Netflix, Hulu, DVD player with 125 movies, plus books and board games. Bluetooth pill box speaker for playing your own tunes. The living room sofa has a very comfortable queen-size, high-end futon bed, great for the kids movie nights or a third couple. The bathroom includes a large, safe walk-in shower with bench, a blow dryer and soft towels. There is a separate laundry room with washer, dryer and ironing board. You have a private deck and lawn area with guest table seating for up to 14 outside, plus another 4-6 inside. The layout allows families to be close together, while still having their own space. Bring your toys. There is room to park your boat, your jet skis, paddle boards or park your large RV. You can bring bikes or rent them 10 minutes away from Port Townsend's great non-profit bike shop.

The house is 5-10 minutes from Ft. Worden, the beach, San Juan Islands whale watching and fishing tours, restaurants, shops, parks, galleries, golf, wineries, The Farmer's Market and the ferry to Whidbey Island. Two grocery stores and the new Port Townsend Vineyards winery are just minutes away. The stunning Olympic National Park and the famous Hurricane Ridge is a bit more than 2 hours away. The house is adjacent to the road to Sequim, Port Angeles, Lake Crescent, Forks, Neah Bay, The Rain Forest and Washington's wild West Coast. About Bill & Lisa

The hosts, Bill & Lisa, have worked in the hospitality business for 20 years. They are attentive, experienced hosts who respect the privacy of guests but respond to their needs. That has helped the Guest Nest, first listed here in 2009, become Port Townsend's highest-rated vacation home.

Bill & Lisa purchased this house in 2009

Why Bill & Lisa chose Port Townsend

There is so much to do in Port Townsend and The Olympic National Park, including hiking, beach combing, festivals, golf, wineries, art galleries, antique shops and craft beer pubs. Port Townsend hosts the famous Wooden Boat Festival, The Jazz Festival and the quirky Kinetic Festival. Our town is a great place for relaxing, enjoying fine restaurants or beach walking. The house is 10-15 minutes away from Fort Worden, which is popular with visitors because of the beach. Port Townsend is part of the Olympic Rain Shadow/Banana Belt. Cities inside this area enjoy more sunshine and less rain than the rest of the Northwest. And Port Townsend is the perfect home base to enjoy day trips to the San Juan Islands, Sequin, Olympic National Park, the Hoh Rain Forest and Forks.

positive vibes

  • 5 of 5

Yes, this place is immaculately clean and has a great location near Port Townsend in a quiet, forested area. But the best part about this rental is that it truly feels warm and welcoming; the owners have gone to great lengths to make sure that every need is provided for, and as a result, the guests end up feeling like they are genuinely wanted and welcomed-- --very thoughtful hosts. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Beautiful property, lovely hosts

  • 4 of 5

This is a very clean, well appointed house in a nice forested area. The hosts were very helpful and gracious, even offering to lend us art supplies for our craft project if we needed them! Port Townsend is only minutes away and it is full of fun things to do and great restaurants. The home itself is very near to extensive walking trails in the woods. The only downside is that there is a practice shooting range within earshot. The sound cannot be heard inside the home. I mention it only because this might be an issue for some people. Other than this item, this is a very nice rental in a beautiful area.

Wonderfully quiet weekend

  • 5 of 5

The house was wonderful and had all the essentials. It was extremely nice and far enough away from the road that it was very quiet. Yet close enough to town to give us lots of time to enjoy the area.

Cute, Quiet, and Comfortable

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying at Bill and Lisa's cabin. The location was nestled in the woods so was very quiet and peaceful. The home was decorated very nicely and well stocked. The outdoor area would easily hold a group of people over for a BBQ comfortably. Check in and check out was a breeze and I would absolutely recommend to anyone staying in Port Townsend!
