This spacious cottage sits on a point of land which creates an unusually private setting with panoramic views of Lake Elmore. Almost 500 feet of private shoreline to explore and a private dock for swimming and great fishing. Water access near the dock is directly off the lawn with a gradual drop-off and a sandy bottom for several feet. Canoe and kayak rentals available just across the lake at Lake Elmore State Park. Fully equipped kitchen, dishwasher, laundry, toys, games, satelite TV, video library. Close to Stowe and all the outdoor recreation opportunities Vermont is famous for. Hike the abundant area trails or to the top of Elmore Mountain and its fire tower for fantastic views of the Green Mountains . Relax on the large screened porch or choose a special place along our shoreline to enjoy. This vacation home is beautifully remodeled. We are happy to answer your questions and look forward to sharing our cottage with you.
Our family of four stayed at the cottage for two nights. We wished we had booked it for a longer stay! Everything was tidy and clean and we had all we needed to bake a wonderful Father's Day breakfast. While at the cottage, we kayaked, hiked to the fire tower, and just relaxed. It was the perfect weekend. The screened in porch is divine! Eating meals on the porch and just laying back and reading there were my favorite things to do. The beds and sheets were amazingly comfortable and we had plenty of towels, etc...The master bedroom has enormous windows with views of the lake. The best piece of property on lake Elmore. Kathy and Steve were very easy to work with. We hope to return again!
Oh, and if you visit the little local store, make sure to have some ice cream. Delicious!
I won't repeat all the other great things written in the other reviews. We had our eye on this place for a few years and finally got the chance to go up for a few days to celebrate our anniversary. It's very well set up for renters - and sparkling clean. It has everything you need and nothing you don't need. Many properties have family photos and belongings that give you the feeling your in someone else's house (which of course you are), but this place felt like our own for our brief stay. There was plenty of room to put our stuff, like shelves in the kitchen, space in the bathrooms and bedrooms. The lighting in the place is wonderful. There are fancy lights with dimmers in many of the rooms and guess what: they ALL work. The sheets on the bed were so nice I ordered two sets via Amazon. All the bedrooms are upstairs and there's plentiful fans, but on a very hot night it may be warm for you if you're used to AC. The photo of the master bedroom doesn't do it justice. There's an amazing view through the large windows (which, THANKYOU, have room darkening curtains) overlooking the lake and the tops of the beautiful birch trees. The lake is very busy for one of it's size. We saw every conceivable manner of watercraft on the weekend. It quieted down during the week. It's a private spot and peaceful. But don't expect silence. Most nights we sat down on the point of land by the fire pit on the two 'zero gravity' lawn chairs - which were exceedingly comfortable. There is plenty to do in the area but the property is so pleasant .... we didn't feel compelled to leave.
This house looks like the only house on the lake surrounded by water on three sides. There is a lake view from every room including the bathroom. Huge kitchen with everything you need for a week vacation. Gas BBQ grill was used frequently. Three tables for eating options but we always ate on the outside porch. Can't beat the view.
Loved the wood panel inside. All kinds of interesting furnishing and decorations. Beds were all on the second floor. Allowed us to spread out our guests for some privacy.
Lake is gorgeous. Provided paddle boat is fun to explore the lake. Only 2 adults in the front. Adults in the back and you will get wet. We saw no life preservers available but you really can not sink or tip this boat. We used the cottage for a staging area for our daughter's outdoor wedding in the State Park a mile away. Big help staying so close to the park and having a place to change. Fantastic setting for the wedding.
Wifi in cottage was very useful. We had no cell coverage at the lake (maybe a good thing).
Small market on other side of lake. Main shopping in Morrisville about 10-15 minutes away.
Owners were easy to work with. They responded to my emails quickly and even mailed to us my wife's favorite pair of pants she forgot. Had a wonderful stay!
Just got home from a perfect long weekend in the cottage. Everything was clean and in working condition. The pictures don't do it justince. The location is great for either an active stay, or just kicking back to relax. Enjoyed the outdoor activities close to the Lake as well as the great food and beer. Definitely planning on coming again for hopefully a longer stay.
Recommend the hike to the fire tower as well as the mountain biking opportunities that abound in and around Stowe.
Kathy and Steve are a pleasure to deal with. I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a great time in Vermont.
If you are looking for a peaceful place, well appointed amenities, tranquility on a lake and daily greetings from loons, ducks and geese...this is the place to be! Wonderful as a retreat or family vacation. Close to Stowe's Recreation path, falls, hiking trails and yoga centres. Don't forget to stop by The Flour Store in Morrisville, where they prepare delicious fresh sandwiches. A must see place!
We just got home after three days at this lovely cabin on Lake Elmore, and I can tell you that is was not enough time! The master bedroom looks right over the lake, it's so nice it made me want to wake up early enough to watch the sun rise through the window. The piece of land this cabin is on is easily the nicest one on the lake. It felt peaceful and private, but close to so many things. Kathy and Steve were great to work with when we had a few questions during our stay. We will not hesitate to come back to this oasis. But next time we will go to the Elmore store on the first day for their Elmore Mountain bread!
On the shores of beautiful Lake Elmore. Close to Stowe, VAST trails, and all Vermont has to offer. Newly renovated.
