*NEITHER OUR CABIN OR OUR VIEW WERE DAMAGED IN THE RECENT FIRES.*

This is our personal vacation cabin. We've had this property for 28 years. In 2005 we tore down our old house & built this cabin. While the cabin is 11 years old now and has some minor wear and tear, it is still as glorious as ever! The view is always amazing and the setting is wonderfully relaxing. I promise, it's the most peaceful place you'll ever be! It sits atop a mountain that you easily access from Hwy 321. No long, windy road. It is less than a mile from 321. The road up to the cabin is paved. There is one switchback curve but is plenty wide enough for any vehicle. It is Very private. No 'cabin community' with 50 other cabins on top of you. If you're looking for what the mountains are all about this is it!! It is located 15-20 minutes outside Gatlinburg. You get the true taste of the Smokies here. It sits directly across the street from the National Park. The 15 mile Old Setters Hiking Trail is at the bottom of the hill. The most raw, natural, untouched part of the park is just minutes down the road. A few miles in the opposite direction is Greenbriar. This is one of the most beautiful rivers in the park. You can swim, tube, fish, picnic, hike, butterfly watch or ride thru. I admit, I'm biased, but I believe this is the best cabin in the Smokies!

About Heather

My husband, 4 children and myself live on a horse farm about an hour from the cabin. I am a horse trainer & children's minister.

This rental property was purchased by my grandmother in 1987. I grew up on this property so it is very dear to my heart. In 2005 we tore down the old house and built the cabin. I designed the cabin, had the blueprints drawn, oversaw construction & chose each unique detail you see...except the spectacular view, of course. God gets the glory for that ;-)

Heather purchased this cabin in 1987

Why Heather chose Tennessee

I have never met a person that has not fallen in love with it.

There is an anointed peace in this place. I am so grateful to be able to experience it and feel blessed to get to share it with others.

What makes this cabin unique

I tell everyone that our house is what coming to the smokies is all about. Peace and tranquility. Many, many guests have altered their plans to get to spend more time in the cabin enjoying the view.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Heather, just wanted to take a quick moment to let you know how much we enjoyed our experience at your cabin. First, the location was ideal! Not far from downtown Gatlinburg and at the same time very private and quiet......from our experience of many, many years of renting cabins around Gatlinburg..... that is a very rare combination.....close, yet quiet and private! Second the views are outstanding! Seeing all those mountains snow capped was just stunning! Thirdly, the type of construction of the cabin and the decor of the cabin made it feel like a great get-a-way! Lastly, the cabin had everything anyone could ever want including a great kitchen, a beautiful outdoor fireplace, great porches to enjoy the outdoors, comfortable beds and even a washer/dryer if needed. We will most certainly be back and would highly recommend the cabin to anyone!

Our fourth visit, obviously we love this place!

Very homey and inviting cabin with spacious rooms, nice amenities, and a beautiful mountain view. Heather works hard to make sure everything is on point for her guests. We love this mountain home away from home!

Perfect weather, great place for family vacation

  • 5 of 5

The pics on the site do not do this place justice. We most enjoyed the back porch and the view.

Awesome!

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the mountains and the cabin was just as described. The view is beautiful and we loved the time spent on the deck and sitting by the outdoor fireplace. The weather was perfect and I forgot how many stars were actually in the sky. The sounds of Spring surrounded us as crickets or tree frogs started their nightly charades. The morning sunrise was pretty incredible also and even after the rain, the clouds hanging low on the mountains added just another beautiful effect. Thanks for sharing your lovely and well taken care of home.

Absolutely beautiful!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our vacation at Rocky Top Hideaway! The house and view are beautiful; exactly as pictured. This was the cleanest rental that we have ever stayed in! I usually come prepared to re-wash linens and dishes, because most cleaning crews don't do a very thorough job (and I have a beach rental myself, so I know how difficult this can be to find good cleaning crews) but this place was immaculate! We brought my daughter and her friend, and our 4 dogs, and everyone loved our time at the cabin. The fireplace on the back porch was awesome in the evenings! We had everything we needed. When we get the chance to come back to Gatlinburg, this is the cabin we want to rent, and I will definitely refer to everyone I know! And for anyone that needs to know (because we had to still check on our office while on vacation) the WiFi and cell service were perfect at the cabin! Thank you, Heather, for letting us rent your beautiful cabin, and bring our fur babies with us!

Perfect Family Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I decided to take a last minute trip to Tennessee with our teenage children during mid winter break. We contacted Heather the week before and booked her beautiful home. Her home is exactly as advertised. We could not have been more pleased. The view is spectacular and we spent many hours on the deck day and night. We highly recommend this property for anyone looking for comfort and relaxation. We will be back for sure to enjoy the view during a different season. Thank you to Heather for making sure everything was ready for our stay. This was by far our best rental experience to date.

Secluded cabin

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was amazing! We have been coming to Gatlinburg every year for over 30 years. We have 2 teenage children and were wanting something roomy enough for our family to enjoy. This has been my favorite so far! So beautiful and the mountain view is gorgeous. Loved the outdoor fireplace! The owner, Heather, was great to work with and always returned my text promptly. My family will definitely book again! Secluded and peaceful but only about 15 minutes to city. Loved, loved, loved this place!! Susan
