Gatlinburg Cabin Rental Photos and Description

3 Bedrooms, 2 Full Bathrooms, Sleeps 8

This is our personal vacation cabin. We've had this property for 28 years. In 2005 we tore down our old house & built this cabin. While the cabin is 10 years old now and has some minor wear and tear, it is still as glorious as ever! The view is always amazing and the setting is wonderfully relaxing. I promise, it's the most peaceful place you'll ever be! It sits atop a mountain that you easily access from Hwy 321. No long, windy road. It is Very private. No 'cabin community' with 50 other cabins on top of you. If you're looking for what the mountains are all about this is it!! It is located 15-20 minutes outside Gatlinburg. You get the true taste of the Smokies here. It sits directly across the street from the National Park. The 15 mile Old Setters Hiking Trail is at the bottom of the hill. The most raw, natural, untouched part of the park is just minutes down the road. A few miles in the opposite direction is Greenbriar. This is one of the most beautiful rivers in the park. You can swim, tube, fish, picnic, hike, butterfly watch or ride thru. I admit, I'm biased, but I believe this is the best cabin in the Smokies!

Suitability:
  • children welcome
  • non smoking only
  • pets considered

About Heather

My husband, 3 children and myself live on a horse farm about an hour from the cabin. I am a horse trainer & children's minister.

This rental property was purchased by my grandmother in 1987. I grew up on this property so it is very dear to my heart. In 2005 we tore down the old house and built the cabin. I designed the cabin, had the blueprints drawn, oversaw construction & chose each unique detail you see...except the spectacular view, of course. God gets the glory for that ;-)

Heather purchased this cabin in 1987

Why Heather chose Tennessee

I have never met a person that has not fallen in love with it.

There is an anointed peace in this place. I am so grateful to be able to experience it and feel blessed to get to share it with others.

What makes this cabin unique

I tell everyone that our house is what coming to the smokies is all about. Peace and tranquility. Many, many guests have altered their plans to get to spend more time in the cabin enjoying the view.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Heather, just wanted to take a quick moment to let you know how much we enjoyed our experience at your cabin. First, the location was ideal! Not far from downtown Gatlinburg and at the same time very private and quiet......from our experience of many, many years of renting cabins around Gatlinburg..... that is a very rare combination.....close, yet quiet and private! Second the views are outstanding! Seeing all those mountains snow capped was just stunning! Thirdly, the type of construction of the cabin and the decor of the cabin made it feel like a great get-a-way! Lastly, the cabin had everything anyone could ever want including a great kitchen, a beautiful outdoor fireplace, great porches to enjoy the outdoors, comfortable beds and even a washer/dryer if needed. We will most certainly be back and would highly recommend the cabin to anyone!

Some disappointments this year

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoy staying in this home, but for those of you wanting to stay here in the future a charcoal and gas grill is listed in the amenities of this property and when we arrived this year there was neither and we brought a cooler full of food to grill each night. We ended up having to buy a $20 charcoal grill at Food City that worked horrible. If grilling equipment is not going to be provided, the amenities description should be updated, it can really cause a problem for travelers counting on them being provided.

We also noticed that the grounds are not being taken care of like when we first stayed there three years ago. Shrubs aren't trimmed, trees are growing up right next to the deck, into the deck and into the view of the home. The view is what it is all about, if the trees are left to grow the view is gone.

Some people will think we are being picky and these things aren't a concern for them, but with food intolerance's I have to cook our food and rely on having a grill. Our eating out is very limited. Also the view is a big deal for the cabin and I hope it's not compromised in the future.

Charming cabin with excellent views

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was very impressive. It was very clean and plenty of space. Location was only 15 minutes from the Gatlinburg strip. I would definitely recommend this as a family trip cabin rental.

Beautiful spacious cabin with fantastic views!

  • 5 of 5

We were very impressed with the cabin, the pictures really don't do it justice, its much larger in person and a beautiful home. There was plenty of room for our family of 5 to lounge around and spend time together. The hammock and swing were a favorite, as well as the front deck & fireplace. Heather was very responsive to any questions and she was a joy to work with. We would definitely stay here again!
