Tennessee Cabin Rental Photos and Description

3 Bedrooms, 2 Full Bathrooms, Sleeps 8

This is our personal vacation cabin. We've had this property for 28 years. In 2005 we tore down our old house & built this cabin. While the cabin is 10 years old now and has some minor wear and tear, it is still as glorious as ever! The view is always amazing and the setting is wonderfully relaxing. I promise, it's the most peaceful place you'll ever be! It sits atop a mountain that you easily access from Hwy 321. No long, windy road. It is Very private. No 'cabin community' with 50 other cabins on top of you. If you're looking for what the mountains are all about this is it!! It is located 15-20 minutes outside Gatlinburg. You get the true taste of the Smokies here. It sits directly across the street from the National Park. The 15 mile Old Setters Hiking Trail is at the bottom of the hill. The most raw, natural, untouched part of the park is just minutes down the road. A few miles in the opposite direction is Greenbriar. This is one of the most beautiful rivers in the park. You can swim, tube, fish, picnic, hike, butterfly watch or ride thru. I admit, I'm biased, but I believe this is the best cabin in the Smokies!

Suitability:
  • children welcome
  • non smoking only
  • pets considered
  • wheelchair inaccessible

About Heather

My husband, 3 children and myself live on a horse farm about an hour from the cabin. I am a horse trainer & children's minister.

This rental property was purchased by my grandmother in 1987. I grew up on this property so it is very dear to my heart. In 2005 we tore down the old house and built the cabin. I designed the cabin, had the blueprints drawn, oversaw construction & chose each unique detail you see...except the spectacular view, of course. God gets the glory for that ;-)

Heather purchased this cabin in 1987

Why Heather chose Tennessee

I have never met a person that has not fallen in love with it.

There is an anointed peace in this place. I am so grateful to be able to experience it and feel blessed to get to share it with others.

What makes this cabin unique

I tell everyone that our house is what coming to the smokies is all about. Peace and tranquility. Many, many guests have altered their plans to get to spend more time in the cabin enjoying the view.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Heather, just wanted to take a quick moment to let you know how much we enjoyed our experience at your cabin. First, the location was ideal! Not far from downtown Gatlinburg and at the same time very private and quiet......from our experience of many, many years of renting cabins around Gatlinburg..... that is a very rare combination.....close, yet quiet and private! Second the views are outstanding! Seeing all those mountains snow capped was just stunning! Thirdly, the type of construction of the cabin and the decor of the cabin made it feel like a great get-a-way! Lastly, the cabin had everything anyone could ever want including a great kitchen, a beautiful outdoor fireplace, great porches to enjoy the outdoors, comfortable beds and even a washer/dryer if needed. We will most certainly be back and would highly recommend the cabin to anyone!

WOW!!!!

  • 5 of 5

I can't believe the price of this cabin was so low. I'm not the type of person that has to stay in the middle of everything when we go on vacation. In doing this I often find good deals too. This cabin was so much more than advertised. It was very clean which is very important to me after managing properties for over 15 years I know how quickly properties can get worn down and what they end up being if the owners don't take care of them. The owners take very good care of the property itself as well as everything in it (floors, walls, linens). The location is perfect. The view spectacular. The 10-15 min drive to Gatlinburg is easy and beautiful. Just down the road a little bit you can go on to the Great Smoky Mountain National Forest and walk straight down to the Little Pigeon River, roll your pants up and get in. The water is so cold! It's almost like this is a "hidden gem" because it's not real crowded like other places to get to the water. I sat on the back deck every morning with my coffee watching the sun come up and it's simply breathtaking I hope Heather will let us come back soon:) There were only two complaints I had but they weren't bothersome enough to lower the rating. The water pressure isn't very good and if you really like to cook like I do the cookware could use updating. Again, those little things are nothing compared to the value you get with this property.

Owner's Response: I just bought new, non Teflon cookware last month to update the aging Paula Dean set. It should have been there for your use. I hope another guest didn't swipe it :-/ The water pressure does stink. The water company put a pressure tank at the bottom of the hill so it is better than it used to be! :-)

Absolutely LOVED this place!!!!

  • 5 of 5

I read on other reviews prior to arriving that the pictures of this property don't do it justice; and that is true! This cabin is absolutely beautiful and the location and views were amazing! We couldn't have been happier and would absolutely book this place again! Heather was very prompt in all her responses to questions and made the process so pleasant and easy! The cabin was immaculate and perfect for our family of 5 and our dog! Can't say enough good things about it! Don't hesitate to book this cabin- you will love it!!!!!! It was very private but yet not far from anything we wanted to do. Can't wait to return!!!!!!!

Beautiful cabin

  • 4 of 5

The cabin is beautiful with comfortable beds, linens and cooking items are provided. We did have to purchase toilet paper during our stay as there was less than 1/2 roll in each bathroom. There were no trash bags other than the one in the trash can.

One of the bedrooms had poor air flow and was considerably warmer than the rest of the cabin.

The hammock that is in the photos is no longer there which was a let down to my kids. The listed "jacuzzi. Whirlpool" is the bathtub in the master bath.

Other than those problems the cabin and location was nice.

Owner's Response: We have recently purchased a new hammock. It is now located on the screened back porch. The toilet paper and trash bag must have been an oversight as we always leave toilet paper on the roll, one extra roll on the back of the toilets and one extra bag in the main can. The rental agreement does state that there will be a STARTER amount of each :-) The description of the jacuzzi on the webpage states that the jacuzzi is in the master bedroom, which it is. It is actually a name brand 'Jacuzzi' that fits two adults and has 6 jets.

GREAT CABIN

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is gorgeous and spacious. The pictures do not do it justice. I highly recommend this cabin for a family vacation, friends get together, romantic getaway and for travelers with pets. It is a very private cabin but is also close to town. There is plenty of parking and the driveway is well maintained (no gravel, all paved). It has an amazing view and a fabulous porch to sit and take in the scenery. The last night of our trip we sat on the porch for hours while we roasted marshmallows. We plan on renting this lovely cabin again. (side note for any travelers with dogs...the Great Smoky Mountains on the Tennessee side does NOT allow dogs on any of their hiking trails)
