The family has owned this property on the Chattahoochee since the 1930s.
We enjoyed the short walk to town. I was also impressed with the extras provided in the home. The kitchen was fully stocked with anything you may need for cooking. There were also plenty of necessities supplied such as dish soap, dishwasher tabs, toilet paper, and paper towels. My family loves to stay in different places, and we have rented many places. This was a very nice touch and not at all the usual. We would definitely stay again!
We loved the peace and quiet this area offers and all the beautiful scenery!! The cabin was perfect! We really enjoyed our stay and plan to come back in the spring!
Loved the cabin and being able to walk to anything we wanted to do and see. The cabin was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The hot water in the bathrooms was plentiful. The gas stove was easy to operate and heats up the cabin quickly when you come in from the cold. We enjoyed our time in the cabin.
Our recent trip to Helen was so much fun! We enjoyed the cabin immensely! Located in a very quiet area with the Chattahoochie River behind it and the horses that pull the buggies in town in front of it! Now that sounds like a location way out of town but it's not!! We walked to Betty's to grocery shop and also to Hofer's to eat lunch. The inside of the cabin was just perfect. Love all the beautiful wood walls and the back porch. Each room had plenty of space. Don't know if there's a limit on people but you could put several air mattresses on the floor in the loft area! We will definitely visit again!!
Our third trip to Helen, we finally got it right! Stay away from those chain hotels with almost no privacy, this cabin is what you've been looking for.
Very clean and comfortably appointed, it is only a 10 minute walk to the main road, convenient to everything. Don't fight the Helen traffic, just leave your car parked at the cabin and take a leisurely stroll around town.
I might would suggest to the owner some low profile perimeter lighting in the fire pit area. It's a great place to hang out and mingle with friends, but with all the trees it's a little dark. Nit-picky, yes, but i think it would be a nice touch.
All in all, no disappointments here, great little cabin in a convenient location. We'll be back!
