About The Owner

I live in Denham Springs, LA with my daughters and grandchildren who live close by. Livingston Parish is a great place to visit and enjoy the outdoors.

The Owner purchased this house in 2008

Why The Owner chose Louisiana

Originally I purchased this house on the river so my parents would have a place to visit during the fall & winter after Hurricane Katrina destroyed their home in St. Bernard Parish. I got many requests from people who wanted to rent this house on the river.

What makes this house unique

The house is located on one of the most beautiful rivers around. It is wide and several bars and business are located close by. Lake Maurepas is only 7 miles away by boat. The trees around the house are beautiful and gives a very secluded feeling.

Guestbook comments from the manager

This place is amazing!! It feels like you are in your own little hideaway, we had activities planned for the weekend but did not want to leave the house, it was so nice. Fernando is great to work with and is willing to help in everyway. We will be back very soon!!! We are in love!

The house was very comfortable, had everything we needed. We loved the serenity of being on the river. We had an event catered in and it was a huge success!.. Fernando is a great guy and easy to get in touch with. We will definitely be coming back to this spot!

Great Location

  • 4 of 5

Pros: Excellent Location to all the boat ramps and the rivers. The dock on the river was fabulous. The living room and tv was a great place for us to relax. Plenty of parking, chairs and seating areas. Owner was extremely helpful and responsive. Very easy to work with. Had efficient kitchen items. Easy access to the house. Appliances worked great. Air conditioner worked great.

Cons: Mattresses were so uncomfortable we got air mattresses to sleep on. Not enough linens for the beds, so bring extras. The water in both bathroom showers trickled and we ended up using the hose outside to shower. The downstairs bath was hard to regulate the hot and cold water.

Definitely a great place for those weekend fishers! Everyone on the river was very friendly and nice. Would definitely stay here again if the water situation got fixed and better mattresses were in place.

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to submit a response. I am happy you enjoyed the river on the new deck and the house. Yes, it's a great place to go fishing. With regards to the linens, the only ones provided are on the made up beds. We do not provide extra sets, since we noticed that previous guests were taking spare the sheets and pillow cases on their boats or outside and wound up damaging or staining them. As an alternative, there is a laundry room with soap detergent provided to wash the sheets if a guest desires. I'm not sure why there was difficulty with the shower faucets. I will look into that. Replacing all the mattresses was definitely on the to do list for this fall. Thanks again.
