Custom built in 2000, this 1500 square foot, two bedroom, 1 bath house has lots to offer the active beach loving family.

This ideally located home is one block from 26th Avenue beach and conveniently located in mid town Santa Cruz, 2 miles from Capitola and downtown Santa Cruz.

This house is a breath of fresh air with vaulted ceilings, and several skylights throughout for a spacious and naturally lighted kitchen and living area.

The gourmet kitchen is a food lovers delight, focused around a granite island for easy gathering and food prep.The kitchen is stocked with basic cooking essentials such as oils,spices,sugars and baking goods.There are fresh flowers throughout the house for each guest.

*Provision services or catering can be provided by request. For example, local farmers market produce, fresh local fish, or meat from the famous Corralitos market.

In addition to the comforts of this sunlit home, guests can enjoy the fireplace on cool Central Coast evenings. You can also enjoy the deluxe hot tub and convenient outdoor shower after a surf session or beach run.

For the working vacation, wireless high speed internet is available throughout the house.

Active families will appreciate this house has available wetsuits, boogie boards, beach chairs, wagon, beach toys, jogger stroller, and various size bicycles with helmets.We can also recommend wonderful babysitters.The new Live Oak library is a short walk away and is surrounded by Corcoran Lagoon which is home to Great White Herons and many other types of animals and birds.The Simpkins swim center is also close by and offers many options for swimming and playing for children and adults.There is wood for bon fires,a small portable BB-Q and table provided for beach parties.There are so many great things to do in our neighborhood that it is possible to spend a week and never have to drive anywhere.

About Cathy Pieratt

Andre has lived in Santa Cruz most of his life and I have lived here for almost thirty years. We enjoy living in this area because there is so much to offer. We go to the beach as often as possible with our two children.We also enjoy riding our bikes around town to the many wonderful places to see and enjoy. Water sports are definitely in the mix of our daily lives. Surfing, sailing, outrigger paddling and stand up paddling in Santa Cruz are popular things to do.

Why Cathy Pieratt chose Santa Cruz

We built the house for ourselves to live in and lived there for eight years until we grew out of it when our kids needed their own rooms.The house is perfectly set up for small families or a couple. We thought it would be a great vacation house and it has worked out nicely for our guests. Many of them return year after year and it is fun see their families grow.

What makes this house unique

The house is located a block up from one of the best beaches in Santa Cruz.It has a deluxe Dimension One spa, outdoor shower, beautifully landscaped yard, privacy plantings surrounding the property, bikes and a baby jogger for guests to use and the inside is immaculately maintained. We live next to the house and do all the maintenance and cleaning. If anything needed we are close by to help out.

Ideally located, spacious home with perfect owner

The owner was excellent before we arrived in all her communication through emails and Whatsapp. We arrived late on a Saturday, tired after a long drive, to find the house not just ready but immaculately cleaned with fresh flowers and a hand written note of welcome.

The property is spacious and easily accommodated two parents and two teenage boys. It is close enough to walk to the beach in bare feet! The beach itself is lovely although not ideal for body boarding. There are boards and bikes provided as part of the property which is a nice touch. The barbecue was in good order and clean. Who needs a hot tub in California? We did! Never thought we would use it but it was bliss to have a warm soak at the end of the day.

The key thing to this property is the location. It is away from the tourist bubble of the boardwalk and is all the better for it. You bike west to see the town and West Cliff Drive or head East and before you know it you are in Capitola. This is THE place to be situated in Santa Cruz.

Finally, the quality of the property is largely down to the way the owner deals with their guests and in this respect the owner, Cathy, was fabulous. Attentive, informative, helpful but never imposing. There is a reason why this property gets such a high rating!

Perfect Califiornian Beach House

We had a fantastic time at this great house in Santa Cruz. The cottage is comfortable, light, and airy . The main room is very spacious, the kitchen is modern and very well equipped, and the patio really attractive. The hot tub is great fun and perfect after sunbathing in the garden. Just minutes (a short walk of a couple of hundred yards down a quite road) from the glorious beach, and yet with easy access to grocery shops (we love Trader Joe's!!!) and to the highways, so easy access to places to visit.

Quiet and cool, this was a great place to stay and we all enjoyed our time there. Many thanks to Cathy and Andre for being charming and perfect hosts.

Perfect in every way!

There were six of us who stayed here, myself, wife, daughter, son in law and our 2 grandkids, ages 2 and 5. This place was perfect for us: location, house, yard and bikes. Cathy was excellent to work with. I booked this house with only a couple of weeks notice and she handled everything while sailing the BVI! Once we arrived she was more than accommodating, letting us check in early and offering us a late check out since there wasn't a reservation for the nights prior to and after our stay. I highly recommend this property.

Beautiful house - lovely stay!!

This beautiful little house was just perfect for a family getaway for myself, my two adult sons, my daughter in law, and grandchildren. I booked it because it was only a few blocks from the beach, and because it had a fenced in yard for my granddaughter to run amok in (which she did!) There was also a hot tub which the adults thoroughly enjoyed as well. The owner, Cathy, is a gem of a landlady and her thoughtful little touches were very much appreciated. This is a residential neighborhood so it is not for the loud party types. It did, however, suit us to a tee with quiet evenings and soft neighborhood voices. Our stay was enjoyed by us all and I hope that we can make it back here again someday in the future.

Amazing beach house!

We had such a wonderful time staying at this house during our spring break. The house is so comfortable! Super clean and has everything you will need. It was the perfect size for our family of 4. Loved using the hot tub and the short walk to the beach. The owner left the sweetest note when we arrived and even suggested a new restaurant in the area. The front and back yards are so beautiful. Wish we had more time to just sit outside and relax. The beach near the house was perfect for our family. We also loved being so close to 41st Ave so we could run to the grocery store or grab delicious coffee. We will definitely be back again!

Excellent choice

We gather as a group of UCSC alums every April in Santa Cruz, and this is by far the best gathering place we've found. The owners were immediately helpful if you needed something, but completely respected privacy otherwise. The house is attractive inside and out, and a short walk from the ocean. Everything was clean and as billed in the write-up. The backyard area is lovely and private for outdoor eating and visiting. Three thumbs up (even tho I have two)!

There are so many sights to visit and activities to do in our area it is almost limitless. Depending on visitors interest. There are many State parks to hike and bike nearby. Also all water sports, golfing, biking ect..

Santa Cruz has great wineries and restaurants to explore. Our house is located a block from 26th Ave beach which has great waves for experienced surfers when the swell is moderately large. there are lots of Dolphin, Otters, Seals to watch from the shore on a regular basis.
