Saint Michel is in the Latin Quarter, an area in the 5th and parts of the 6th district of Paris, on the Left Bank of the Seine river, nearby the Sorbonne University.
Known for its lively atmosphere and bistros, the Latin Quarter is home to several higher education establishments besides the university itself, such as the Ecole Normale Superieure, the Ecole des Mines de Paris, the Schola Cantorum, and the Jussieu University Campus.
The area gets its name from the Latin language which, as the international language of learning in the Middle Ages, was once widely spoken in and around the University.
Today the Left Bank is considered as the city's most romantic and fashionable district mixing day and night life.
If you take a stroll you can easily find tons of restaurants, bars, pubs, cinemas, music and festivities in the area directly behind the building. Or you can go shopping on the Boulevards Saint Michel & Saint Germain. Or simply visit the booksellers on the banks.
You are in very town center and all the famous spots are amazingly close : the Seine river, the Latin Quarter, Saint Germain des Pres, the Saint Louis island, the Marais, the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Sainte Chapelle, the Luxembourg gardens, the Jardin des Plantes, the Louvre Museum, the Orsay Museum, and so much more...
The apartment is very easy to reach:
- By RER B if you arrive by airplane (Charles de Gaulle or Orly airports)
- By Metro Line 4 if you arrive by train (Gare du Nord or Gare de Lyon)
- A Taxi station is just in front of the building
The location of the apartment is FANTASTIC, overlooking the Seine river and opposite to the Notre Dame Cathedral.
The apartment benefits of a BREATHTAKING VIEW: open the three sets of windows (all DOUBLE GLAZED and high quality sound proofing, which will assure you an excellent night sleep) and just marvel at the views of the Seine going by, and the awesome views of the majestic Notre Dame Cathedral on the next corner. Seriously, this could be the best view in Paris and will continuously take your breath away, both day and night. No wonder why, since 1991, the banks of the Seine river belong to the UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sites.
This apartment definitely has the ‘Wow’ factor, you will never forget your trip to Paris for this view alone. With a glass of wine and good company you won’t need to be anywhere else to experience the most romantic and beautiful city in the world.
We put a lot of effort to offer an elegant decoration and a lot of storage space and we believe we succeeded in creating a fantastic love nest for honeymooners.
The apartment is equipped with a high quality convertible sofa, providing an excellent sleep thanks to its 200x140x14cm anti allergic foam matress.
You’ll also find a 46 inches ultra flat screen TV which will blow you away, offering a truly unique viewing experience as well as a multimedia access to your laptop.
Once the booking will be confirmed you'll receive a 40-page instruction booklet to let you familiarize with the apartment, its equipment and the neighborhood. At your arrival we will personally check you in and we'll spend about 20/30 minutes with you to explain how all the appliances operate and to answer to any questions you might have. We'll also be available during your stay, should you encounter any difficulties. A bottle of french wine will be offered too.
Henry Matisse (31/12/1869 - 03/11/1954) and Albert Marquet (27/03/1875 - 14/06/1947) two of the best known french artists of the 20th century and leading figures in modern art, both lived in the nearby building (19, Quai Saint Michel) and painted several views they could see from their studio window, the very same view you’ll enjoy during your stay!

This apartment, on the Left Bank overlooking the Seine river and Notre Dame, is a dream made true for any Paris lover.
This apartment will be perfect fo a couple willing to discover Paris from an exceptional location with a view that will make them dream for long….
This is our second time in this wonderful apartment. Centrally located with an excellent view and good facilities. You need to be reasonably fit in order to climb the stairs three floors, but not a problem as they are fairly easy stairs to climb. The hip bath might be better replaced by a shower unit, as it is difficult to climb into. Finally, note that the only oven available is a microwave. Apart from these minor issues, an excellent apartment, and quite spacious for a studio.
The views from this little pied a terre cannot be beat. And it's completely equipped with everything you could need. We found the sofa-bed to be surprisingly comfortable and it was also really nice to have a washer/dryer in the apartment. Things to know though are that it is a busy street. So naturally there will be street noise at night. When the windows are closed it is quiet. But without air conditioning you will want to open the windows in the summer. Certainly not a deal breaker, but something to know. Also climbing in and out of the high wall hip bath can be a challenge. That and the narrow steps mean that this apartment is best suited for the physically able. Other than those two minor things we found the apartment to be very comfortable and truly enjoyed our stay.
You cannot ask for a better location, a block from Notre Dame. Opening the tall windows brought in the sounds of the city, especially the church bells, yet, when they were closed, it was quiet. There is no elevator, so you do have to climb 58 stairs up a spiral staircase. Federico did an excellent job of staying in touch with us, as well as having a lovely bottle of wine for us upon our arrival. Elsie reviewed everything in the apartment and answered our questions.
You have to be limber to get into the high tub, but we chuckled at the bathroom experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Our stay at the apartment was perfect from start to finish . Fredrico and Elise were great to work with and made the buisness of renting easy. We have rented apartments many times in Paris and are already planning our next trip to stay in this wonderful appartment. The view of Notre Dame is amazing. The apartment is perfect for two people. The bed very comfortable, there is plenty of closet space and the kitchen has everying thing you need. The appartment is clean and well maintained. It is also in a great location !
Your own Saine River & Notre Dame dining table 3 stories up in Heart of Latin Qtr. - wifi, free calls, w&d, big screen tv. and modern kitchen & bath (incl old type shower/tub!). I miss the apartment just as much as I miss the museums and monuments!
My wife and I travel to Paris every year and chose to stay here on our last stay in Paris, there's not another place we would stay on our future returns. Right beside the RER B, it's so easy to get to from CDG/ORY Airports. The booking process was easy and straight forward.
Federico was friendly, professional and prompt throughout the booking process, right through to our departure from the apartment, making the entire process easy and welcoming.
Elsie welcomed us once we arrived, showed us all the amenities and helped us feel settled and welcomed.
The apartment itself is well equipped, spotlessly clean, and most importantly, close to everything. With a metro station only 40 meters away, exploring the city couldn't be easier. Has a large television with numerous channels if you feel like relaxing, lightning fast internet. The kitchen is fully equipped. Large fridge and cooktop are great. We bought groceries and ate breakfast in the apartment daily, as well as a few dinners. The washer/dryer is such a nice feature to have while travelling, gives you the chance to pack lighter and return home with suitcase full of clean clothes :) Although there is no elevator, the stairs are not as bad as many apartments we've been in; large and wide treads.
There are lots of fantastic restaurants and pubs within a five minute walk and if you want to shop, Blvd Saint-Germain is within ten minutes. The Marais is only an 8 min. walk away on the other side of the Ile de Cite. The Louvre and Musee d'Orsay are within ten mins walking down the river. And, of course you have Notre Dame right outside your window.
There's no question that this will be the apartment we use on our returns to Paris, and the one we recommend to any of our friends or family that are travelling there. You will nothing short of thrilled in staying here!
