Why Rick & Shelly Kraetz chose Scott

This is a rare piece of property in that it has a large flat grass area as lake frontage. Many of the properties on the lake are on cliffs. In addition, it is on the East side of the lake. It get's full sunlight all day long. Properties on the West side are usually in the shade by mid afternoon.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a great time. The house was perfect and the lakefront was beautiful. You really have an amazing spot. Based on the forecast, it looks as though things really worked out for the best with us going this past weekend.

Thanks again.

Girl's Weekend

  • 4 of 5

Enjoyed our stay at The Tall Pine Lodge, 4 of us , plenty of beds. The house was mostly clean. Fridge had a very dirty door and some cob webs inside the house. Used the kayaks that were available and enjoyed the view immensely! Definitely a great part of the lake to enjoy some peace and quiet since it's at the southern end! Did use the compost toilet, worked just fine when we were relaxing down by the lake. Enjoyed a campfire one evening with some s'mores for dessert! Great place to get away and relax!

A GREAT family week

  • 4 of 5

Our family included MY wife and me, our Daughter, son-in-law, granddaughter, two boys, their two girlfriends, and family dog. There was plenty of room in the home for all, in spite of the fact that we were rarely inside! The waterfront was huge with a large lawn to throw a football, set up a playpen, etc. We had a spot to both launch and dock our boat, and plenty of room for our kayaks and parked vehicles. There was a bathroom by the water as the house is up on the hill maybe 100 plus feet from the water. We were most pleased that the baby monitor worked down by the water. The house was very clean and nice, but as can happen at any camp in a wooded setting, we did catch a mouse in the kitchen one morning. We had a problem with the internet early on and Rick took care of it immediately. The only disappointment upon arrival was our realization that the road separates the house from the waterfront. This occasionally involved trips up to the house for various reasons, but proved to be no big deal and there was minimal traffic. The water is crystal clear and great for swimming/snorkeling. We had a great week and would recommend the Tall Pine Lodge to all!

Relaxing and convenient

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a great stay at Tall Pine Lodge! Our in-laws, 2 children and dog were all with us and the house was spacious and clean. When we arrived the owner Rick was there to greet us and answered any questions we had. It is so beautiful and quiet. There were 2 grills (charcoal and propane) down by the lake and another propane grill on the deck where we usually cooked dinner. The fridge in the shed came in handy for drinks and snacks, burgers and hot dogs while we were down by the lake. It was amazing to have access to all the kayaks and canoe. Anything you need is right there. There were even books for all of us to read and we had fun playing some of the board games in the evening! We all had a great time and were sad to leave! The lakefront also has a lot of grassy space and plenty of seating areas. Rick also left out a shade tent and we really appreciated that!

Just a side note: the lake access is across a small not very busy street and the basement was not attached to the house and is more suitable for teens to stay there- i had planned to have my children (4 and 8) stay there because they were excited to sleep on the bunk bed, but they stayed on the trundle in our room, which was my back-up plan for when they were scared alone in the basement anyway :) We still had plenty of space, even with the comfy king sized bed and the trundle.

If you are thinking about staying here I definitely recommend it!
