Casa del Virrey Eslava 108, is located just steps away from the Garcia Marquez mansion, Hotel Santa Clara and the best restaurants in the old city of Cartagena de las Indias.
Casa del Virrey Eslava is the most luxurious multifamily complex of its kind. The property emerged from the restoration of the old school, La Esperanza, built and partially restored in 2008 by Alberto Samudio, who gave it a modern environment with his very particular sophisticated style.
This townhouse style residence is divided into four levels. It has a pool on the first level, 3 bedrooms on the 2nd level, 1 suite on the 3rd level with a terrace and a Jacuzzi. The fourth level has an incredible solarium to admire the view of the city, go sunbathing or enjoy a beautiful moonlit night.

LOCATION! LOCATION! LOCATION!
Our service and CHEF ANA!!!!!! the best food at home!!!
My husband and I just spent 6 days here with 4 close friends. We had such a wonderful experience and this house was perfect. What a great layout with private rooms and baths as well as small rooftop suite with outdoor jacuzzi. Private pool was perfect off the kitchen and location of the house was the best for wandering and discovering the beautiful walled city of Cartagena. Make sure to request private chef, Anna, as her wonderful authentic Colombian cooking was unique and delicious each day.The meals this lady cooked were so good that we don't know why people would even decline the chef option, it really should just be included with the stay, as it made our experience in the house so perfect! Katia, the housekeeper was super friendly and resourceful, she even lined up a group of masseuse's to come in one day for us. Nelson was also helpful in lining up a private city tour in air conditioned van. We were honestly sad to go when our time was up. Not only was this house amazing but the staff was so warm, they felt like family. I'm really hoping we can come back some day as we just had an epic vacation!!
Great stay at this house, it was very clean and tidy. Housekeeper Katia and cook Maria Eugenia were great and helpful. They kept house clean and cooked delicious colombian food. House is very well located near restaurants and shops. I would definetely recommend this house and would stay again.
We had a perfect vacation at this spot. The house has plenty of space both indoors and outdoors--which was great for a vacation with nine women. The roof space was great for laying out and chatting, and the location was ideal. Couldn't have imagined a better setup! Also Chef Ana is a must!!!
Our group of 5 visited Cartagena in early-March for a bachelor party and stayed at this lovely house.
This is a modern multi-story townhouse in a luxury condo complex located on the northern end of the Centro (old town) section of Cartagena, within walking distance of many of the city's top restaurants and nightlife. The house is perfect for a group who desire some level of privacy (separate bedrooms) and communal living space while touring the city. While the house is well-maintained with a friendly staff, the high level of security might be off-putting to some visitors (e.g. groups of young men/women) while refreshing to others (e.g. families with children).
Ivan (the owner) was responsive by email leading up to our stay but did not offer much in the way of recommendations and connections with local vendors and guides. We were looking to book a boat to the Rosario Islands to check out the "nice" beaches (the city beaches are nothing special) so we were kind of on our own in that department. The housekeeper we dealt with was Katja who was very nice. She spoke mostly if not entirely in Spanish however so we were lucky to have a member of our group who was relatively fluent in everyday Spanish.
The only issue we encountered during our stay at the house was the water pressure and temperature, particularly in the 3rd floor bathroom. One night after midnight, there was no water pressure at all until the next morning, so showering and the typical nighttime bathroom routine was difficult. Something to be aware of, but not a huge deal. Also worth noting-- while this is not a hotel, when you're paying to stay at a luxury home at this price-point you expect a few more amenities to be provided such as shampoo, conditioner, perhaps some basic drinks in the fridge etc. Again, not a big deal but it would be nice to have these upon arrival.
Overall, a very nice stay. Would definitely return to Cartagena, a lovely but manageable Colombian town for both singles and couples looking for a getaway.
This is a great property for a group of friends/couples. Each room has its own bathroom, there is tons of come space for gathering, and the complex itself has great amenities. Chef Ana took care of us, and made the most wonderful Colombia dishes for us to dine on. Would stay here again upon my return to Cartagena
