Overview

About the property

The chalet is located a few kilometers away from well-known cities such as Saint Tropez, Grimaud, Cogolin, Ramatuelle or Saint Maxime.

Please note that a car for this area is highly recommended!

The Parc de L'Avelon is a nature reserve with many old cork oaks and surrounded by oleanders. There are 10 more chalets in the park. The chalets are far enough away from each other that you can have your privacy. But if you are sociable you can live it out and make nice holiday acquaintances.

It is the ideal place for self-catering. Fresh ingredients can be purchased at the markets that regularly take place in the area. Of course, there are also easily accessible supermarkets such as the Intermarche (Grimaud) and the Geant (Gassin). Thanks to the well-equipped kitchen, you have the opportunity to prepare your meals to your heart's content. However, if you do not feel like cooking yourself, there are plenty of good restaurants in the area.

You have the opportunity to relax in nature at the chalet, as you will find plenty of garden furniture in the chalet. Also the nearby beaches offer the optimal recreational value. A bit more excitement can be found in St. Tropez. Both during the day and at night. The harbor is definitely worth a visit.

Since we bought the chalet just the previous owner was so good us to provide some information about the chalet and the area (excursions, restaurant tips etc). Of course, we will gladly pass these on to you before arrival! Just like a detailed description and instructions around the chalet.

Please note that both of us only speak German or English (no French) and therefore the instructions are only available in both languages.

The keys are usually sent to you in advance by mail. In some cases, however, there is also a direct key handover with the previous tenants.

The following times apply to the arrival and departure, unless otherwise agreed:

Arrival: from 16 clock, departure: until 11 clock.

If you have questions about the chalet or problems on site then please do not hesitate to contact us.

Since the Mary Rose is a simple wooden house and no longer the youngest, you can not expect any hotel or apartment standards. It is more akin to camping just because you have a roof over your head and you have your own kitchen and private bathroom.

Please understand that Mary Rose has been partially unused for a few months and you may end up with a few cobwebs and dust. We are in the middle of nature so it can happen schonmal.

If this might be a problem for you, the Mary Rose may not be the perfect item for you.

We spent our summer holiday this year (2017) in the chalet. Since we felt very comfortable in the chalet and we also enjoyed the area very much, we decided to buy. Therefore, please be a little lenient with us if we can not answer every question immediately. However, we will give our best possible. ;)

Now a few impressions from the area:

Since Grimaud is a climatic health resort, it is one of the warmest places on the coast even in winter. It is a French municipality and the capital of the canton of the same name. These include Grimaud Village, Port Grimaud, Saint-Pons-les-Mûres and Beauvallon.

Events in Grimaud:

-Wollfest (Foire de la Laine), Ascension

Mill Festival (Fête du Moulin), June

-Michaelsfest (Fête de la Saint-Michel), September

-Hubertus Festival (Fête de la Saint-Hubert), November

Fine art exhibition of Les Peintres de Grimaud in the Salle Beausoleil, April and September

-Musikfest Les Grimaldines, July / August, there are smaller concerts and parades in the village instead. In the evening also in the open-air theater in the castle

Drummer Market (Brocante), 1. Sunday in the month

Another flea market takes place every Sunday morning at the Jas de Robert heading to St. Maxim instead.

Market day on Place Vieille, Thursdays

Another important information: Since we have currently found no one who takes over the final cleaning for us, we ask you to leave the chalet as you would like to find it. We are trying very hard to find someone who will do the final cleaning but until then we would like to ask you to do it yourself!
