About Rock & Nell Walker
We have residences in Lancaster SC and Shallotte NC and are usually at one or the other except when on Eleuthera.
Rock & Nell Walker purchased this House in 1994
Why Rock & Nell Walker chose South Palmetto Point
Our goal was to find an island where we felt safe, and with people we felt were genuinely friendly. After searching many islands in the Bahamas, we found that on Eleuthera. Ten Bay Beach and its surrounding cove area supports an abundance of sea life that feed on the coral. Guests are delighted to watch a variety of fish from the deck. While the island offers a slow-paced and peaceful vacation, a number of restaurants can be found within easy driving distance of the house. Many visitors enjoy purchasing fish from the docks at Tarpum Bay or Governor's Harbour and cooking at home. Grocery stores on the island offer almost anything you need.
What makes this House unique
If you are hunting peace and quiet, and you love the beach, and being in the water, Ten Bay Beach is as good as it gets!

All Around Wonderful
Everything was great. The location is incredible. The house has everything needed for a relaxing stay. The property manager, Arthur, is responsive, knowledgeable and helpful. A great stay!
Thank you Joel for your kind review. We find that folks appreciate hearing from guests and include specifics as you ave done. We hope you enjoyed the island and will visit Eleuthera again. Many thanks! Rock & Nell
Amazing place to stay on Ten Bay Beach Cove!
What an amazing vacation we had for our family of 4! Great snorkeling on the beautiful cove. The 3 sea kayaks included with the house rental were a huge plus. Pretty close to town of Governors Harbor for shopping and restaurants.
Thank you Valeri for taking time to write a review. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay at Serenity Cove. Come back again!
Beautiful house with gorgeous views
This house had a view of one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. We did a lot of snorkeling and kayaking. The house was well-maintained and well stocked. We even worked a jigsaw puzzle and played cards. All of the kitchen amenities were nice. The only thing we could suggest is an easier way to get in and out of the water. We found some ski rope and tied it around a post to help us get up and down a slick ramp. But otherwise everything was awesome
Hi Deni, Thank you for taking time to write a review. We appreciate your focus on the house amenities because those details are important for folks who read these reviews. It is possible the yard maintenance man moved the aluminum ladder that we keep under the deck by the steps at the house. A lot of folks, ourselves included, use the natural steps created by water on the rock wall in front of the house. Your comments have prompted us to revisit the Idea of a more permanent ladder. Thank you and come visit us again soon. Rock and Nell
Perfect Beach House on Ten Bay
Everything about our stay at Serenity Cove was perfect. The owner, Nell, is very thoughtful and the house lacks absolutely nothing. Right down to the plates & bowls and bedding we were thrilled with the house. The views are awesome.
Hi Lynda, thank you for your kind words. We appreciate guests who do take time to let others know about their experience at Serenity Cove. As you shared with me you have made a number of trips to the island so you know a lot about what the island offers: quiet beaches, beautiful water, friendly islanders, and a very laid back atmosphere. Thanks for letting folks know the house works well for visitors.
Hope you will visit again soon.
Had a great stay! Ten Bay Beach is basically your own private beach! We saw minimal people there, especially during the week. And you can walk there on low tide! We will be back!
Owners are quick to respond and easy to work with!
Thank you for taking time to post a review. We are glad that you enjoyed the beach and the property. And, we are glad that you will choose to visit the island again!
Another amazing vacation - we LOVE Serenity Cove!
Just as with our last stay at Serenity Cove, there are no words to truly describe how incredible our experience was. Watching all the sea life in the cove and the ability to slip the kayaks into the water and kayak for hours brought our vacation to another level beyond other vacations we have. We always stay in vacation homes when we travel and this one is far and above the best - best location on the private cove with a beautiful beach that is never really busy, the great deck looking straight down into the water, the size and cleanliness of the house, and absolutely the best supplied house we've ever stayed in - everything you need in all rooms and outside for a great stay. And Nell and Rock are extremely nice and helpful, they obviously take great pride in their home and want everyone to have the best stay possible. We highly recommend Serenity Cove to everyone we know.
Hi Beverly, So glad that you enjoyed your return visit to Serenity Cove. We agree with you, although we are somewhat biased, that the cove offers so much opportunity to enjoy the sea life. We have seen rays, manta rays, a host of fish, and even a few harmless sharks. I love throwing bread crumbs to the grouper that hide under the ledges. If you are a snorkeler (and who isn't) you can enter the water in front of the house and go forever around the ledges to enjoy sea life. The property's access to both the beach and open water are unmatched. Thanks for your comments about the house. We try to keep it updated each year with projects underway each summer. New windows and new glass sliding doors have been our latest projects. Serenity Cove welcomes your return, and we hope you will come again soon!!
The house is located along the coral rock that extends off the beautiful Ten Bay Beach, truly one of the best beaches on Eleuthera. The house is centered on 3 lots, offering privacy for guests and a cove that offers visitors their own aquarium. The island offers services for fishing, snorkeling and diving trips, boating; have a Bahamian meal cooked right in your home! Guests have available 1 Gemini 2-person kayak and 2 Perception Tribe single kayaks and gear for you to enjoy getting around to see more of the island from the water. Unique to Eleuthera Island is water taxi access to both Harbour Island and/or the fishing village of Spanish Wells. Traveling North to get to either island, you will pass over the Looking Glass bridge, once painted by Homer Winslow. A must stop for great photos of the cliffs and the joining of the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. Eleuthera is a long and narrow island with beach access roads throughout the island. Guests have found beautiful hide-a-way beaches to explore. The house is conveniently located in the middle (the elbow) of the island which makes it convenient for exploring both ends of this 100 mile island. Each community offers unique restaurants and shopping. The Southern end of the island offers its own unique villages of Tarpum Bay (fresh seafood from the docks), Rock Sound (Blue Hole and nice shopping center), Cape Eleuthera and the pristine Lighthouse Beach. Guests tell us they enjoy exploring the island and coming back to relax on the deck, enjoying the view right in front of them. Directions to the house: On Queens Highway, travel 14 miles south of Governor's Harbour airport; roughly 4 miles south of Palmetto Point. After your pass a small sub-station with transformers enclosed in a chain-link fence (on you right), the road to Ten Bay development will be on your right (about 1.5 or less miles). On right, look for sign that has property owners listed. Follow that road for about .8 mile; the house is on the right; palm trees lining drive to house.
