Don't be fooled by VRBO's "Book With Confidence Guarantee." The coverage is watered down and its only purpose is to generate extra fees for VRBO. Also, there can be misleading property listing information being offered by some renters or their management companies. For example, some of the units being offered at The Canyons are Timeshare units. Timeshare units are not assigned until check-in and are often the least desirable units. (I know someone who was supposed to get a Westgate 800' Villa, but wound up with a 300' Studio.) It's important to ask for the exact unit number of the property being considered, as well as the direct phone number to the property's front desk. This will enable you to confirm specific information through a third party about the unit, property and resort. It also helps to find out if you'd be dealing with onsite (24/7) management or if you'd be dealing with some third party management company at a remote office away from the resort. I'm an original owner at The Canyons, having purchased pre-construction in the late 90's. In my opinion, Utah skiing is the best anywhere because of its convenient accessibility and for having the lightest powder anywhere! The Canyons Resort is the best ski area in Utah because of it's diverse terrain and uncrowded runs. There are hardly any lift lines! The resort itself is high-end without being overpriced or snooty.
My condos enjoy great views of the ski area and overlooks the outdoor pool. In the spring and summer the balconies get great afternoon sun! The hotel unit has three separate adjoining rooms - each with it's own full bathroom and hall entrance. This allows for the unit to be divided and prorated.
we have rented from Mitch twice now.. both times, he has gone out of his way to make the reservation process as easy and painless as possible..and to let us know about special rates and programs available at the Canyons.. whehter it be private ski instruction... or where to get discounted lift tickets... you are getting more than just a really amazing condo...
We had the pleasure of staying in this condo in early December of 2011. It was a last minute trip for us, and Mitch was very accommodating and made things really easy. He quickly sent emails with our confirmation and we had several quick back and forth emails just to make sure everything went smoothly. He was also kind enough to set us up with a great ski instructor and offered to help us with lift tickets if needed.
As for the condo...very upscale, spacious and comfortable. We had plenty of room for all of our gear, and the beds and furniture were very comfortable. The kitchen was great and had everything we needed. We loved being near the pool and hot tubs and the spa facility itself looked fabulous, although we didn't have any treatments. We did use the hot tubs every night, and they were awesome! When finished soaking, we jumped from the hot tub to the heated pool and swam to the indoor entrance so we didn't have to brave the cold wind.
The resort...super convenient to everything....in fact, the most convenient. The orange bubble really is right outside, and the ski valet was great. It's also only steps from the gondola, so we used that a lot as well. Valet parking was great, and front desk staff went above and beyond to answer our questions. One restaurant was undergoing renovation while we were there, but it looks like it's going to be nice. We did eat at The Farm which was 30 yards from the back door, and the food was wonderful. We also tried a few other places in the village and they were all really good. It was nice to be able to walk to dinner instead of worry about driving. We found several nice bars for a quick drink and appetizer in the evenings and didn't see lots of crazy party animals. Of course, I was also in that comfortable bed by 9:30 every night! We did feel immediately guilty upon entering our room for not bringing our kids. It's really the perfect place for a family to stay, and we look forward to returning with the kids. Oh, and the skiing (although pathetic in early December on this particular year by Utah standards) was still really great. Even with limited open terrain, we found plenty to ski every day and loved the trails and variety. It's truly gorgeous, and we had a perfect vacation! Many thanks!

Great stay-a real treat. The condo, skiing and Park City restaurants were all wonderful. Owner was so helpful.
The accomodations exceeded all of our expectations. Our entire family stayed over the Christmas week and we never felt crowded. On New Years Eve, three extended families came over for games and revelry and the unit easily accomodated all of us. Unit was clean, comfortable and up to date in all respects. Pool, spa and fitness center were awesome. Gondola was right out the door and owner assisted us in obtaining discounted lift tickes,ski rentals and dining. Can't wait to go back.
We always enjoy the Grand Summit. This unit was great. It was spacious and overlooked the pool. Mitch was very easy to deal with and Thank you, we really enjoyed ourselves. We'll probably be in touch for future stays!
