The Isle of Palms, like all barrier islands, has a dynamic beach near the inlet that separates the island from Dewees Island. The ebb and flow of the changing tides, through the inlet, creates and moves sand bars just off shore. These sandbars will channel waves between them, resulting in the massive buildup of sand along portions of the island where other areas may develop temporary erosional hot spots. These hot spots will feature a sand beach throughout the day outside an hour or so before and after high tide. Where a dry sand beach may be limited in these few areas at high tide, walking either direction will lead to an area where the sandbars have created an expansive beach to enjoy at any tide.

Beautiful view but needs some basic updating!
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Wild Dunes thoroughly and will be back, though likely not to this rental unit. The view of the beach from here is unbeatable and location is good, however, the unit could use a deep cleaning and some general updating. We arrived to a layer of sand on all the outdoor furniture which likely built up over the winter months and was not cleaned before our arrival. We also found the furniture to be very uncomfortable and in need of updating. The rental company did offer to send someone out to reclean, however, we felt it would not really address our concerns and passed on the offer. This unit could be a great one with some basic TLC!
Great views, location, and tastefully decorated!
We loved the condo and location! It was beautifully decorated right down to the artwork on the walls with a fantastic view of the ocean as well. This was our first visit to IOP and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
Thank you so much for writing this 5 star review of our home. We are thrilled to hear you enjoyed your vacation on Isle of Palms. The view of the ocean cannot be beat! We hope to see you again soon.
Better than expected!
Staying at 512 Seascape was better than expected. So clean and comfortable for all 6 adults. The ocean view was breathtaking and we loved spending family time on the large open deck. Will definitely stay there again!!
Thank you so much for leaving this 5 star review for us. We are glad you and your guests were able to comfortably enjoy your stay. We have spent countless hours on the deck soaking in the ocean views. We would love to have you come back and stay with us again next summer!
Beautiful oceanfront location.
Has to be the best view in Wild Dunes. Condo is well appointed and comfortable. Kitchen has everything you need - we cooked a full Christmas dinner and didn't lack for anything!
Beautiful decor and view but several issues
We stayed in this condo for two weeks in the summer of 2010. We chose it because of the view and decor and we did not go wrong there. We had shade and a wonderful breeze on the beautiful deck and ate every meal out there. The unit was beautifully decorated. The reason for just a Good rating is that it is not a 3 bedroom; it is a 2 bedroom with an open loft and this was not stated in the description. The loft bathroom shower had no water pressure and could not be used. This was known but not communicated. In addition, there was a hole in the loft wall, the trashcan door was broken downstairs, the lights above the counter flickered and the unit was not clean; there was even sand left in the shower. The air conditioner also had some trouble keeping up. Most of the issues were taken care of after we called the rental company but these were easily fixable and should have been prior to our arrival. We spent a lot of money to stay 2 weeks and it is unacceptable to deal with such issues on our vacation. If I were the owners, I would look into a new rental company.
