BEAUTIFUL EAST VAIL HOME PERFECT FOR FAMILIES & FRIENDS.
Welcome to our home in Vail, Colorado! Our home sits at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac on approximately a 1/2 acre of property, nestled up against the White River National Forest boundary. A stream runs through the property for much of the summer.
Relax in our 2800 sq. ft. home, flooded with natural light and views of the forest and surrounding mountains. Walk up the flagstone walkway from the driveway and garage, across the stream to the front door. Here you'll enter the mud room, with two benches and lots of storage to unwind from a great day on the slopes, hiking or biking. From the mud room, open the interior door and walk upstairs to the spacious living, dining, and kitchen areas as well as a powder bathroom and laundry room. Also upstairs is the master suite, with a beautifully appointed en suite bathroom including glass encased shower, jacuzzi tub, double sinks, toilet and bidet room. Master has a king bed.
From the mud room you can also walk downstairs to the lower level to a 2nd family area, wet bar, 2 more bathrooms, 4 additional bedrooms and the private hot tub. 3 of the bedrooms have queen beds, and the 4th bedroom has a set of bunk beds and a day bed with pullout trundle bed.
High end finishes throughout include radiantly heated floors as well as hot water baseboard heat, Thermador and Sub Zero appliances, concrete counter tops and custom tile. Winter, spring, summer or fall... our home is perfect for your Vail vacation to enjoy a truly memorable Rocky Mountain experience.
Additionally, our home offers a 1 car garage and large driveway with plenty of room for parking 2 additional cars. (There is no parking allowed on any street in East Vail, so driveway space is premium!) However, once in Vail, you will not need to drive as our home is a short walk to the free Town of Vail bus service.
If you have members of your group who do not ski, hike or bike, the Vail Racquet Club is a 10 minute walk or 3 minute drive from our home. Here you can indulge in a spa treatment, get in a workout, get a bite to eat at the restaurant, or swim some laps in the year round outdoor heated pool. You can also shop at the club for any active wear or accessories you've forgotten.
Adjacent to the club is Bighorn Park, with a wonderful playground for the kids, beaver pond, and large field to challenge your family members or friends to a game of dodge ball or soccer.
Locals know you come for the skiing, but summer and fall is why we live here. We are a 5 minute drive from the Vail golf course. Bike to Copper Mountain over Old Vail Pass road which is not open to cars. Hike endless miles on the Gore Range trail from our front door. Mountain bike on Vail Mountain or discover a huge network of trails in the valley. Whitewater raft numerous rivers. Or just sit in our yard next to the stream and read a good book amongst the Aspen trees. The sky is the limit of outdoor activities in the summer and fall.
Let us share our knowledge and hospitality with you. We are happy to stock our home upon your arrival with groceries or anything else you might need. We can also bring in a private chef to prepare your meals. We'd be happy to show you our favorite ski runs, hiking or biking routes, as well as suggest some of our favorite restaurants. We want you to get the most out of your stay, so please don't hesitate to ask our advice. We do not use a property management company and only rent our home a few times throughout the year.

My husband and I met in Vail over 25 years ago. We've lived all over the country including New Jersey, Minnesota and California, but Vail has always been our 2nd home. We love Colorado and have chosen to raise our family here.
Leslie Altman purchased this house in 2009
Even though it is a single family attached duplex, you'd never know it. The duplex is offset front to back, so we barely share a common wall. All you see in the pictures is ours... you can't see our neighbors half, so it really feels like a true single family home. And the property is set at the end of a cul-de-sac with only 4 other homes. This is not a rental neighborhood... mostly locals live here.
The most unique aspect of our home and why we fell in love with it is the setting. It is so private. It is set so spectacularly against the forest, you'd never know it is a duplex or that we share the property with anyone. The stream running through the front yard surrounded by wild flowers is just stunning in the summer. The gold Aspen leaves in the fall are a sight to see against the Colorado blue sky.
Stayed at this home during X-mas - New Year. Plenty of room for 8 adults, 3 teens and a couple of little kids.
Living room has 2 tables and chairs, еnough for everybody. We could sit down the whole group around the big table.
Kitchen is very well equipped, included crock pit and rice cooker.
Master suite is simply amazing. Big bathroom with great shower and jacuzzi tub.
Downstairs space was perfect for the kids.
Big hot tub, on the deck, just a couple of steps from the door, downstairs.
Plenty of towels. The owner also provided shampoo, shower gel and body lotion in every bathroom. It was very convenient sharing the bathrooms.
Shuttle bus is walkable distance, but downhill from the house. It is easy to get to the stop. On the way back it is a walk uphill. We kept the skis in the storage next to the gondola after skiing for a couple of days while adjusting to altitude. After we adjusted to altitude, the hike up from the bus stop was quite easy. It is also possible to ski down from the house to the stop. The bus runs every 15 min, seems more often then in West Vail.
The owner is very nice and responsive. We reported some small issues with one of the shower and she came the next day to check on them.
One con - there are two bathrooms downstairs, but one of them in the kids bedroom. The other one is shared by 3 bedrooms. However with shampoos and lotions in every bathroom, it was not that bad to share as we initially thought.
We enjoy our stay!
This home was perfect for our large family get together. It was beautifully landscaped outside and well decorated inside. It was just as the photos portrayed, large spacious rooms with high ceilings. We had 9 adults and 2 little ones. The five bedrooms gave everyone privacy, while the large family room accommodated all for card games, TV watching or just gathering. The kitchen was well stocked and there was seating for 12, placing the 2 tables in the dining area together. Due to the open layout of these areas, no one ever felt left out of the conversation... We never even used the second family room on the lower level.
Leslie and John thought of everything: from hints on how to bake at high altitudes, recommendations for dining or carry out, things to do in Vail, operation of the hot tub, etc. Summer is the ideal season to visit, if you don't ski. There are plenty of activities to check out (walk, hike, bike, golf, raft, shop, eat, concerts, farmer's markets, the local Bighorn Park, Piney River Ranch, etc.).
This house in East Vail is on a quiet cul-de-sac but it is a short drive into Vail, and close to a bus stop on the route into town. You won't be disappointed in renting this property. It was spotless and well maintained. The stream running along side the house, all the Aspen trees quaking, and the view of the mountains remind me of what I love about vacationing in Colorado. Leslie was also prompt in answering questions and a pleasure to deal with.
We loved our stay in this beautiful home. It accommodated the ten of us perfectly. The open layout of the main floor kept us together even while engaging in smaller groups. The property is amazing with the creek running through it proving the sound of rushing water.
The owners were great and responded quickly to all inquiries. We will definitely be back!
My family and I really enjoyed our stay at this property. We stayed in the spring. The snow (at this elevation) was gone and the grass, trees, and flowers were green and blooming. The creek running through the property was a constant reminder that we weren't in the city anymore.
The house had everything we would need to enjoy ourselves.
Bus stops are close and the bus service is reliable so getting down to the Village was pretty easy.
The only wish I have about this home is that I could afford one like it to call my own!
When everyone arrived, we all felt like the house was perfect for our group. It was large enough that we weren't all on top of each other, but there were great communal spaces where we could all be together to eat or hang out. The kitchen is spacious and had everything we needed. The decor is cozy and modern. And the free bus route is a pretty short walk. We would definitely come back to the house for another ski trip!
This house was perfect for our family of 7. The owner was very prompt in responding and available if we had any questions throughout the process and during our stay. The location is toward the far end of east Vail and although there were houses around us we had privacy and beautiful unobstructed views of the mountains. The house is in excellent condition, very clean- spacious rooms, vaulted ceilings and gorgeous views from the many windows. The open plan was ideal with plenty of dining and lounge space. The sofas were extra deep and the seating very comfortable. After a day on the slopes it was wonderful to curl up in front of one of the two fireplaces, wrap up in one of the throws and watch a movie or play games. The kitchen was well equipped with high end appliances including a wine refrigerator and stocked with all the basics for preparing meals. There was an additional refrigerator in the pantry area so one trip to the store was all we needed for the week. The beverage fridge and entertaining space in the lower level was perfect for our teenagers. The hot tub was a favorite apres ski routine. The beds were very comfortable with plenty of extra linens and blankets. It was especially nice to gaze out the ceiling height windows of the master bedroom and view the millions of stars in the night sky from bed. In the morning the view was just as breathtaking of the snow covered mountains and aspens. The master bath was lovely with a large glass shower equipped with body sprayers, a jetted tub, double sink vanity and separate toilet area with bidet. The walk to the shuttle was a little farther than we are use to but definitely not difficult. We use a ski concierge at the base of the mountain so all we needed to do is walk with our snow boots to and from the shuttle each day. We come to Vail at least once a year and have rented many places over the years, I highly recommend this house and look forward to visiting again.
Lots of hiking, biking, and snowshoeing trails right from our front door. Close to golf, rafting and horseback riding in summer. Only 10 minutes by car to Vail for skiing, 20 minutes on free bus to Vail Village, which picks up on the street below our home, Meadow Drive.
