My name is Kirk, I own/manage this condo, as well as a large Real Estate company on island. In other words, I live here full time and do this for a living. This condo gets extra special attention because of this, and you don't have to worry about an absentee owner or a manager with another full time job that you cannot reach if you have a problem.
This unit is exceptional. I put a lot of time and money into it. I have attractive new floor tile that looks great. Furniture is nice and super comfortable. The sofa is a sleeper should you have more than two people. It has everything you need for rentals:

beach chairs should you want to go elsewhere off property
there is a cooler for the beach
Large Flat Screen TV
DVD with a bunch of movies in the condo
Extensive kitchen supplies, of course including a blender, coffee maker, and toaster
Wireless internet is included in the price
I keep cleaning supplies under the sink so you don't have to purchase them
there is a vacuum, broom, and mop in case you need to clean something up
extra bath towels, beach towels, and sheets for the sofa sleeper
ample toilet paper and paper towels
lots of board games and card games in the unit
a folder of helpful information for both emergencies and activities
comfortable patio seating with both rocking chairs and a dining table with chairs
The condo has incredible open views, staring out of the marina directly towards St John. It also faces due East, so the breezes blow right into the condo if you do not like to use AC. But should you like AC, then it is there for you to stay cool. It is really nice to watch the boats come and go from the balcony, and if you pay attention in the afternoon, you can see the fishing boats come in and you can be the first to run down and buy fish from them. Doesn't get fresher or cheaper!!! This location also tends to be much quieter than the other buildings.
There are two beaches at Sapphire Beach Resort, as well as a very nice double level pool. They are all steps away, very very close and an easy level walk. Snorkeling off the beach is excellent, as well.
The town of Red Hook is only half a mile away. It has numerous restaurants, bars, shops, and the ferry to St John.
I have a lot of pride in this condo, I love owning it, and enjoy having guests stay and introducing them to our lovely island. I have lived her full time since 1991 and feel I am an ambassador to the Islands. I hope you will find the time to come and visit, where I promise to be an excellent host.
I love Sapphire because it has the beaches and boating in one location, combined with incredible views facing the prevalent tradewinds. It is also close to Red Hook for nightlife and restaurants.
This unit is much nicer than most others you will see. It has some brand new high quality porcelain tile that looks like travertine / marble. It is extremely clean and has just been freshly painted in a very light yellow color, so it is not the stagnant and boring white on white like the other units. I am on island to deal with any issues immediately, which is a HUGE advantage over other rental properties on VRBO where you have absentee owners and managers.
This was a great stay for my family of four. We were in St Thomas for almost a month and enjoyed every moment of our stay. As you will find out there are many options to choose from. If you want to stay in a "fully remodeled" unit, be prepared to spend a lot more money. This unit however was very accommodating. We loved the view in front of the marina overlooking the water to St John. I also worked (telecommuted) from the unit much of the time. Internet on the island can sometimes be inconsistent, but it is what it is. If you absolutely need reliable internet I suggest purchasing an AT&T mobile hotspot, that's what I did. I personally think you can't beat this location. You are steps away from the beach and pool, and extremely close to Red Hook. The condo owners are also great to work with, very accommodating and very available if needed. I'm sure we will be staying again.
My friends and I have just finished our third extended stay at this condo. The unit is very clean, quiet and contains everything you need for a fabulous vacation including WiFi and cable TV. The condo itself is even better than the picture and has a million dollar view of the Caribbean and St. John. The pool and beach are a very short walk and are kept very clean. Beach chairs and cooler is furnished in condo for your use. The beach is great for swimming and snorkeling. Food is available on the beach at a open air cabana for breakfast, lunch and a variety of drinks. The Sapphire grill, a short walk up the hill, also serves lunch and dinner and has music many nights. The town of Red Hook is only a short taxi ride away and has an array of food, drinks and entertainment. Many grocery stores are a short ride away. We do not rent a car and have no trouble getting around. The $1.00 safari bus is available on the main road about every 15 minutes. With a little practice you can get almost everywhere on this affordable means of travel. This is an island of tourist so taxies are everywhere. Even though the taxi stand on site has been closed you can call one anytime of the night or day. Phone number for taxies available in condo. The rates are very reasonable. If you do rent a car ample parking is available on site. The resort is under renovation but this has no effect on your everyday activities and the end result will be worth it. AT&T has the only cell towers on the islands. All other companies must pay roaming charges which is very expensive. I bought a used AT&T Go phone for use on the island. The east end location of this condo is your gateway to St. John. A short ferry ride from Red Hook will take you to Cruz Bay and the beaches of St. John. It's like getting two islands for the price of one. The marina in front of unit has many boat tours available at a reasonable rate. We always take at least one boat tour on every visit. We have found the people are very friendly and see the same people come back every year. We feel extremely safe with the security at the entrance and security constantly walking the grounds. We love this condo and plan on visiting for many years to come.
We enjoyed the entire set-up, location, and simplicity. The condo met all of our needs and wants. We enjoyed the view and watching the comings and goings in the marina from our balcony. The owner is wonderful and extremely helpful. You can rent a car right on property to explore St. Thomas or stay close to home and relax at the beach. There are a couple of dining options in the resort including "Off the Grid." A BBQue truck just up the hill serving large portions of really tasty food. Don't miss this one. We would stay here again. While we really enjoyed our time at Sapphire Beach, the condo we chose to spend 8 days in was not at all what we expected and the pictures did not represent what we ended up renting. The unit is not accurately described. The bedding was very worn, pillows were about an inch thick and very dirty. The mattress on the sleeper sofa was so bad my 13 year old and 10 year old had to share the bed with my husband and I. The couch itself is in dire need of a cleaning. The refrigerator was so dirty I had to buy cleaning products to scrub it out so we could put our food in it. The ONE lamp in the room was broken. We are not picky people at all, but this was unacceptable in our opinion. I would never rent from him again as I feel the condo was very misrepresented. We chose this area because we wanted to be close to Red Hook and Sapphire fits the bill there. The pool is fine, the view can't be beat. The restaurant there at the pool is closed but you can still get food, servers come around on the beach and will take your order. In Red Hook there are many restaurants to choose from, as well as, we enjoyed dinner at the food truck, "off the grid" at the top of the hill.
A few positives to the condo are as follows... an incredible beach, but even more intriguing is the waters just off of it. It holds great snorkeling, coral, fish, and wildlife. Everyday we went snorkeling, we saw 2 local sea turtles and loads of stingrays. The Condo is just a two minutes drive to the quaint town of Red Hook, which has shopping, restaurants, bars, and ferry access to St. John and the British Virgin Islands.
The condo was exactly as the description. It was in a great location , and waking up looking at the marina, and St. John was amazing. Kirk was great I would rent again.
We really enjoyed our time at Sapphire. We were spending a couple of nights before our bareboat charter in the BVI's. We wanted to be close to Red Hook and Sapphire fits the bill there. The unit is accurately described in the listing, is well maintained and clean. Kirk and his colleague Cara were both very helpful with questions before the trip and keeping us up to date with information about payments arriving, etc. It's easy to get around the Red hook area with reasonable costs on the cab from Red Hook/Sapphire and the $1.00 safari bus. The pool is very nice, the view can't be beat. The restaurant there at the pool is closed but you can still get food, servers come around and will take your order. In Red Hook there are many restaurants to choose from, we enjoyed dinner at the East End Cafe and at The Cellar, basically the same chef/kitchen with two different menus, very good food, service and super cool bathrooms! We also enjoyed sandwiches from Marina Market. If you are planning on cooking in the condo, Marina Market is very well stocked and had excellent produce and lots of choices on many items. We really liked the view from the patio, overlooking the marina, we like boats so it was cool to be able to watch the comings and goings. At least two different day sails operations leave from right there, very convenient if you're looking for that sort of activity. The security at Sapphire was also good, we felt safe. We highly recommend the condo, we'd rent it again.
