Great Space, Lousy Accommodations
The place was dirty...called about dishwasher which was sitting with water in the bottom and dirty dishes in it... 4 year old grandchild's socks were black after moving around the house for several hours...were not enough dishes or eating utensils to feed my crew. There was a glob of hair sitting on the side of the tub on the main floor....There was just so much that wasn't right! I contacted the property manager quite soon after we arrived. He said someone would be there the next day to fix the dishwasher and the cleaners would return. None of that happened. Needless to say...I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PROPERTY TO ANYONE! I have pictures to back up my statements! Just ask, and I will send them to you!

A snake-infested property
It was a nightmare to stay in this property. My wife had planned this for weeks just to stay at a home from home. After a day, we saw a snake just in front of the door and we were terrified. It ruined our entire weekend. We thought that would go away but after 5 hours it was clinging there. We had to go to Lowe’s and got an axe to kill that. We told the host and he sent someone on Monday. We saw another snake there and realized there was a nest and these could go inside the bedrooms anytime. We spoke with the host and said we were checking out and he agreed that he would refund for the rest of the days. I had contacted the Vrbo and lodged complaints against it. They have the case open. I also contacted my credit card company to dispute the charges. We had been waiting to hear from the host for reasonable response before we post any remarks. He said, he wouldn’t refund for the four days whereas he should have refunded for the entire 7 nights. We did not demand that. We understand that it is a heavily wooded neighborhood, but keeping the property snake nest free should be their utmost importance. My recommendation is: if you don’t care about snakes, then go for it. Otherwise, stay away renting it. This is not for those who are afraid of snakes like us. This is not for with small children. It doesn’t matter whether these snakes are venomous or not. Once you are bitten, you will have to run for the hospital. Our worst nightmare and experiences with this property and host.

Not What it Claims to Be
I agree completely with Shannon H.'s review of this property. Here are the positives: great check-in and communication; easy check-out; wifi worked; linens were soft and comfortable; mattresses were good (better than most rentals); Here are the negatives: This place is not what it is advertised to be. The listing says there is a hot tub, coffee machine (not including the Keurig), and that there are 6 beds. These statements are false. There was no hot tub, no coffee machine, and 3 of the beds were blow-up air mattresses. There isn't much in the kitchen. There were no extra linens/blankets. The place is very outdated (30 + years). The closest grocery store is 10 minutes away. The house is next to a road that is very loud. We would not return to this house. It is not worth $300+ a night.

Short stay, convenient location
Booked this home for a 2 day short trip for a conference nearby. Property was as pictured, easy to access, and good communication with property management. The only down fall for me was the coffee pot was only a 4-cup small coffee pot, I’m for sure a 12-cup regular coffee drinker. But was easily evened out with Starbucks only .4 miles from the house. Everything else was great!

This house was absolutely beautiful and amazing!
This house was absolutely beautiful and so much space for me and my friends; We had so much just in the house itself! Everything was great, check in was easy and the owners are very good at communicating! I would say my favorite was the patio and especially it being fall the trees, the colors, everything was just so beautiful! I will definitely be booking again!

Why they chose this property

Treetops is one of the most unique properties in the Raleigh-Durham area! Sitting on 7 wooded acres just steps away from William B. Umstead State Park, Treetops is a one of a kind house that will leave you wanting to come back every year!

What makes this property unique

Treetops stands out in ways I never expected. The home is in a high demand zip code, surrounded by trees and far away neighbors with large plots of land and beautiful, historic homes. Treetops has one of the larger plots that also boasts a pond that feels so much larger in person as opposed to when looking at it in photos. While the front of the house is very low key and humble, the backyard facing side of the home has sliding doors for each room, meaning huge windows that span the width of the home, giving guests a beautiful view of the massive trees surrounding the property.

A home like this is the best place to go to for a cozy family vacation, or a perfect home base for an active hiking trip!

Of course I'm biased, but I can say with full confidence that this home is going to be one of the most unique experiences you will have on VRBO and in Raleigh!
