Our home is approximately 2400 square feet, with a 2 car garage. A hot tub is strategically placed on the edge of the bluff to provide the most amazing views of the Pacific Ocean, Point Dume and beyond.

About Ronald Jenny

Jane is an artist and a designer and Ron is a contractor. They both have teamed up over the last forty years to build homes with balance and flow that they and visitors can enjoy. It is like creating a feeling that is appealing to the senses. Over the years with Jane’s visions and Ron’s construction ability and help from various architects, several of their homes have been awarded; have been in charity events for architectural walks and in publications.

Ronald Jenny purchased this house in 1999

Why Ronald Jenny chose Malibu

Jane and I have lived in Malibu for thirty five years and have worked our way to what we feel is the best location we could possibly be. Encinal Bluff is a very spiritual place, we are off the PCH so do not get the highway noise and above the beach where we have privacy. Sitting on the deck it is a constant show of wild life and other, incredible birds, dolphin, seals, whales and the occasional surfer. We named our home the rock house because it is build with granite imported from the Lake Tahoe area. Some people say it looks like a home that could be in Yosemite.

"THIS is my dream home"

  • 5 of 5

As soon as I drove up to this home, I thought, "THIS is my dream home." I really didn't need to even see the interior. For Malibu rentals, a lot of people may lean toward the contemporary homes of glass, stacked like sardines, right on the water. The Jenny's home is the antithesis - secluded, private with mature trees, perched on the bluff over the beach. The view was spectacular: the ocean, Point Dume and Catalina in the distance, the view framed by cactus, blooming pomegranates and pine trees. Often - but especially when there were a lot of surfers out - there was a seal that was always popping his head up in the cove out front. It has a very Monterey feel to it.

Inside one finds warm, rich colors, open spaces, unending views. The house is beautifully decorated in a comfortable mix of beach, country, Craftsman, contemporary. The beds are amazing, especially the master whose view has the ocean panorama at your feet. The gourmet kitchen has every possible appliance, tool, or dish possible and was wonderful to cook and serve in. The house is fully wired for sound and we always had the XM radio playing, especially as we sat on the back patio in the evenings watching the night fall.

Outside, the owner has wrapped a vegetable and herb garden around the house in beds and barrels, as well as abundant fruit trees - we were eating zucchini, carrots, onions, lemons, cumquats, peaches, tomatoes and more - I don't think I bought any produce the whole time we stayed.

In a time of great stress, staying in this home brought me great peace at the end of each day. I didn't care how long my commute was to get back - it was always the perfect end to long days when I pulled up to this house.

This property is a wonderful place to spend your vacation. I booked for four nights and called Ron and asked if we could stay another three nights and I was so glad when it was available. I felt at home immediately in this home and the grounds are amazing. We spent every morning in the jacuzzi with our coffee, every afternoon on the beach with our dog, and every evening in the Adirondack chairs with a cocktail. Be sure to bring some good shoes to get to the beach. The boulders can be super slippery! Can't wait to come back again. Be sure to take some to visit the Malibu Cafe up in the hills. We go every time we are in Malibu. A fun drive and really unique place to do lunch or dinner.

Wonderful location, magical house (so many lovely details), beautiful grounds, perfectly timed tides (ok, that was our luck). We loved everything about our stay.

Owner's Response: We are so glad your family enjoyed their stay. Thank you for the good review and also the wonderful note and photos. I hope you don't mind if I share.----------------------------------------------- "Dear Jane and Ron, We just returned from your house today and wanted to thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. We loved every details about the house and had a very hard time leaving it... A few things that will stay with us: the amazing grounds, the red flowering bush, walks on the beach at at sunrise with the dog (the tides were timed perfectly! usually just me but managed to drag a few more peeps as the week went one), the afternoon family beach walk, the chess table, morning coffee in the adirondak chairs, s'moores in the firepit, the parakeets/parrots on top of the palm tree, hanging out in the hot tub, the view, the full moon, all the little details of the home, your door stops variety, the beautiful glasses, the glass rack, Jane's art, the landscaping, the sound system, and so much more I am forgetting right now. We also wanted to thank Debbie for making sure we were well oriented the first day. We loved her food recommendations and appreciated her checking in after a few days."

Paradise in Malibu

  • 5 of 5

The views from this home are incredible. It is situated up on a bluff overlooking a quiet beach. The outdoor area is completely private and has everything you need so there is no need to even leave the property. If you wish to venture out, all of the best restaurants are a short drive. The location is perfect as you are close enough to everything Malibu has to offer without being in all of the congestion of the downtown area. The home is meticulously maintained and the owners made the entire renting process as easy as possible. Ron and Jane, thank you for opening up your beautiful home to us!

A Malibu Summer - Paradise On The Pacific

  • 5 of 5

This summer we decided to rent a home in Malibu, rather than travel across the globe. We wanted a house that was on the beach, with beautiful views and would be easy and comfortable. The Jenny house is all this and more. The house sits on a bluff atop 2 beaches just down the hill. It is secluded, located at the base of a private drive. The house itself wraps around the Ocean, supplying the most unbelievable sunsets. Star gazing is equally magnificent from the houses vantage point.

The appointments in the house are high end. From the gas grill and outdoor fire pit, and vegetable garden (fresh lemons from the tree)! to the gourmet outfitted kitchen that comes with everything a home cook could ever ask for. An outdoor jacuzzi is much appreciated after a day on the Ocean.

The house has 3 bedrooms/ 4 bathrooms. All are extremely comfortable and are equipped with state of the art TV's. The house also comes with an amazing sound system with a huge range of playlists supplied by Ron Jenny. My family really enjoyed the pool table and the assortment of games at the house.

The service was on-point. The house manager was always accessible for any of our needs, and the house was kept immaculately clean by the housekeeper. The grounds and jacuzzi are serviced regularly as well.

We loved our time at The Jenny house so much that we didn't leave very much, except to go pick up food at the new local organic market, and to go to incredible amazing Malibu restaurants located very nearby.

There is plenty to keep you busy at the Jenny house. Or you can choose to meditate to the sound of crashing waves as the sunsets on the Pacific Ocean.

I highly recommend this property.

This house is nothing short of "magical"!

  • 5 of 5

We had been planning our trip to Malibu for quite a few months. Unfortunately, the house we had originally reserved and paid considerably more for was not as advertised to say the least and we refused to check in. In a bind, and feeling severely disappointed and defeated we contacted Ron. He was kind enough to open up his house to us on short notice and at first sight we had realized the series of events were divine intervention. This house was nothing short of "magical". High above the bluffs but not too high, with just enough of a path to the beach to feel right on it. The house was well stocked with plenty of flatware, vases, glassware etc. The large gas grill got plenty of use as well. The pool table was a fun evening activity after the sun went down but only if you could tear yourself away from the incredible view of the stars! The landscaping itself was gorgeous with blooming cacti, flowering plants and well maintained and designed grounds. We felt very at home here except our outdoor hot tub is not on the precipice of the Pacific. We appreciated the art, collectibles, books and tchotchkes around the house. They seemed to tell a story and needless to say we enjoyed our fairytale here. I hope to return to this house and bring back all of the wonderful memories this place provided and make some new ones. Thanks again to Ron and his family for sharing this very special place with us, our love affair with Malibu continues... Thanks again
