We loved this place! It had everything we needed, from fresh herbs to a great entertainment center, to make our stay enjoyable. The apartment is so cute. It is clean, very well equipped and the bed, oh my, so comfy. The neighbors are friendly and very quiet. There is a lovely potted garden with seating in the outdoor spaces, one with shade. Also must mention that the location is awesome, convenient, safe and right off the streetcar line with easy access to the French Quarter or Audubon Park and Zoo in the other direction There is a wonderful grocery market just across the street on St. Charles Ave. and the best Seafood Market in the uptown area is only a few blocks away on Magazine St. The parking space is tight but perfect for a compact car, which is better anyway if you plan on driving around the uptown area as it can be quite tricky to navigate. This condo is much more comfortable than a hotel and a great price too. We will plan our visits to New Orleans from now on around the availability of this unit as it is the perfect home away from home for us.

Clean! Clean! Clean!

Loved this clean little place. Perfectly situated where you can walk less than a block to catch the trolley. Off street parking for your car. Clean! Clean! Clean! And has everything you need. The pictures really don’t do it justice. I was a little hesitant because I could see only part of the bath and had no idea what the tub/shower looked like and that can be a deal breaker for me. But no worries—it’s very clean! Kitchen had plenty of dinnerware and cookware. Nice clean fridge. TV with Netflix, Amazon, etc. It is upstairs and I was surprised by that and guess i somehow missed that in the description. The only suggestion I would have is to provide an oscillating fan on a stand for the bedroom. It got a little warm in there at night and that would have helped. Overall it was a great value; short walking distance to the trolley, Magazine St., and even a Fresh Market store. I would definitely stay here again (and just know that my family calls me the hotel/VRBO snob!!).

Convenient location, nice apartment

We came to NOLA for a concert and had already bought parking near the theater, but the designated parking spot at the complex was very convenient. The street car stop is only a short 1/2 block walk away. No matter where you need to go, you can probably figure out a way to get there using the Street Cars and/or busses. The Fresh Market is about the same distance so getting food to take out or to cook at the fully stocked apartment is handy. Just a few blocks away there are lots of shops and restaurants to keep you busy and eating.

The apartment is quiet, has a good location and was not hard to find. Keep in mind that NO is undergoing a lot of renovation and construction so is in a transition. There are signs everywhere that is it coming back strong and is on its way to being a showcase city. We had no issues with crime or feeling unsafe. Traffic is heavy but that is to be expected in any busy city.

One improvement for the apartment would be to install some grab bars in the bathroom. The tub is deep and so having some safety grab bars would be a helpful thing. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, cups, glasses and all kinds of cooking utensils. It would be easy to prepare a four course meal if you wanted to do that. Overall, we were very pleased with the apartment and would recommend it to a couple looking for a quiet place in a really cool area of town.

Perfect Location. Great Hosts.

This location is perfect for getting around without a car (close to street cars, groceries, sights, etc). Cab from airport at the time of our stay was around $36 for two people.

The condo is a great size for two people. We got caught in a downpour and the on site laundry came in handy. Highly recommend for a New Orleans get-away. Close to the action but not in the middle of it (although a Sunday afternoon parade did go down St. Charles!). Hosts had a book of recommendations and a ton of tour books and brochures.

Great Location, Nice Accomodations

"The Gem" is in a great location to access all areas of New Orleans - the Garden District is great for walking or running and you can easily get around town using the St. Charles streetcar, which is 1 block from the rental. The rental interior is nice and well-kept, and it is stocked with any cooking and eating utensils you may need (Fresh Market is just across St. Charles). Instructions for access were clear and easy and we had no problems, and Brandon and Larissa were both responsive to any questions we had. This is a great place and I highly recommend. I'll certainly be looking to stay here in the future.

Perfect location!!!

Recently, we stayed in this very well located apartment. My husband and I came to New Orleans for a long weekend getaway on our way to the beach. This apartment was impeccably clean and was convenient to everywhere we were interested in going to. We love the Garden District and Magazine Street and this apartment is just a half a block from St. Charles Ave. Having an assigned parking spot was great!…no searching for a parking place was necessary. The courtyard was lovely and we enjoyed having a late afternoon glass of wine among the pretty potted plants. In addition to the excellent location, pretty courtyard and super clean apartment, we were also grateful that it was so quiet. We highly recommend this apartment!!!!
