About Robert

My name is Robert and after years as a home builder I now manage 5 rental properties on a full time basis.

My wife and I love to stay in and share our properties with other families and groups who want to enjoy and be respectful of the beautiful homes and life that we all have!

I can always be reached via email and text and usually reply within minutes to all inquiries, questions or issues.

I look forward to having you as my guest for your next vacation or getaway!!

Robert purchased this lodge in 2002

Why Robert chose New York

I am a hands-on owner and travel between my primary residence in Port Washington and Hunter Mountain every week to check on and maintain my properties... and along with my cleaning crew and local handymen do our best to keep everything in excellent condition for our guests!

This lodge was built in 2002... It was the 2nd log home I built bringing in approx. 50,000 pounds logs from B.C., Canada.

Log homes give off a 'feel' of calm and clean... A Zen-like relaxation that adds to your time away from the daily grind.

There is no sheet rock or plaster board anywhere in the house. I have used only natural woods and stones... The only plastic to be found is the light switch plates.

What makes this lodge unique

Location, Location, Location...!!!

When was the last time you vacationed on your very own private peninsula with over 750 feet of waterfront and Conde Naste 5 star views?

Guestbook comments from the owner

Hi Robert,

It was absolutely wonderful. We had a great time - very cozy with the fire place. The kids enjoyed the game room and the outdoors. Everyone - from my sister's 2 year old to my 70 year old mother - had a good time.

Everything was as promised. Thank you for helping make our family get together a positive fun experience!

My kids (teens) want to come again when we can ski or swim...

Thank you for being so friendly and reliable,

We had a great weekend at the lake house.

  • 5 of 5

Our extended family stayed at the house while we were attending a wedding. The area is beautiful. The leaves were changing and it was a perfect fall weekend. The house had plenty of space for everybody. We had four children along and they really enjoyed the boats and the game room . There is plenty of space for everybody. House is well cared for and easy to find. We would definitely stay there again if we wanted to visit the Catskills.

Great Spot On The Lake

  • 5 of 5

Wow! From the minute we arrived it was impressive! Great fire pit and the view of the lake is gorgeous. We had some unfortunate weather but the upstairs deck has a canopy that sits above the outdoor table which fit 6-8 people comfortably. This was ground zero for hanging out all weekend. The TV and ping pong tables were used all weekend and on Saturday we fired up the BBQ. This house impressed us all and we have already started planning on making plans to all go back.

Idyllic location. Plenty of space for our large group

  • 5 of 5

I just returned from a weekend stay at this property and it was excellent. Throughout the weekend you'd hear someone say something akin to, "This is so great. I love this place," etc.

The property and house were exactly as described. The log cabin house is quite large and our group of 13 adults and 5 children had plenty of space. There are bedrooms and common areas on all three floors. The interior is a little older and gently used, but nothing out of the ordinary for a cabin-like retreat.

The real gem of this property though is the outdoors. From the enormous deck that overlooks the lake and peninsula to.....the LAKE and PENINSULA, this was an oasis for all of us. The house is situated on a multi-acre private peninsula. Kids and adults alike loved spending time outdoors.

The beach is really nice. There were 2 canoes, a bunch of kayaks, and a paddle board. Plus life vests, flotation noodles, and a water trampoline!!! Not to mention a nice dock. The lake itself was beautiful with above average water quality and many coves and inlets to explore.

There is also a great fire pit, tons of Adirondack chairs, sprawling maintained lawn, and several hammocks! Seriously, if you're looking for an upstate location that is remote, quiet, serene, and spacious then look no further.

Thank you Robert! I think the only thing that would prevent us from coming back next year would be if we have too many people. :)

I have been going away annually for the past 5 years with family and it has become a tradition btwn me and my loved ones. By far this has been the most gorgeous house we have stayed in EVER!!! The view is just breath taking. We will be staying here again. Robert is just an amazing person to work with. If I can rate this at more than 5 stars I would!!!!

Special Properpty

  • 5 of 5

We had the best time at Robert's Beaver Lodge. Truly a special piece of property -- the pictures don't quite capture how expansive and private the property is. It is very much like staying at your own private park. The big question I'd had as our vacation approached was: what would the lake be like? Well, it was pretty close to perfect. Sleep Hollow Lake was bath-tub warm in late August and very still, yet the water was so clear, it was easy to see the small sunfish swimming by the dock. These squeamed out our kids for about a minute until they got used them and then ignored them them for the rest of the trip. The bottom, if your standing, is gookey in some places, but Robert laid gravel to create his beach --and to cover a lot of the gook underwater nearby which is lovely to walk on in a lake. For the squeamish kid, we brought lake shoes (swim socks) and he wore those in and out of the water all vacation. Beaver Lodge is clean, large, comfortable, and stocked with amenities, but that land and that lake are the real show-stoppers. We'd love the opportunity to visit again some day.

This house was amazing and fit our needs perfectly. We were a group of 14 and were never on top of each other. Plenty of beds, the house is kept immaculate and has such a cozy feeling for a rental. Anything you need is there. The lake is beautiful and the trampoline into the water was so much fun. He has a small boat you could rent, which was an added extra. Just cruising around on the lake was beautiful. The neighborhood is gorgeous and well kept. Rob should open a school and teach other homeowners how to rent. He covers all the bases, all directions are clear and easy to follow and he is very prompt in getting back to you. I have stayed in many homes in different places and have never dealt with anyone who is so concerned with meeting your needs and making sure you enjoy his home. If you are looking for an amazing home to create memories with family and friends, this is the place for you. I have already booked for next year. Thank you Rob for renting your home out so that others can enjoy it!!
