Ready to tour Nassau? Now, casually stroll 100 steps heading east and you will be in Fort Charlotte. Built by British in 1776, a guided tour of Fort Charlotte features a water-less moat, draw-bridge, underground passages and dungeons which recounts slavery and emancipation in The Bahamas. Alternatively, stroll 100 steps heading south and you can tour Popopstudios Centre for the Visual Arts (formerly Dillet’s Guesthouse).
The public transportation is only a 3 minutes stroll--$1 heading east takes you to the Straw Market, Downtown Nassau or Atlantis/Paradise Island or take a scenic 15 minute walk and you are in the heart of the Town. While in town visit the Queen’s staircase which was carved out of solid limestone by slaves in the late 18th century between 1793 and 1794. Alternatively, a 7 minutes ride further west of the apartment places you at Cable Beach public 18-hole golf course. Have fun at the world renowned Cable Beach Strip. There are 3 additional beaches for your absolute pleasure. For the nature lover, just 50 feet from your villa you’ll see the Ardastra Gardens, Zoo and Conservation Center which provides a sanctuary and survival center for over 300 exotic birds, mammals and reptiles. It is famous for being home to the world famous marching pink flamingos.

Afterward, relax and unwind at the nearby Arawak Cay white sandy beach or take a short bus ride to Saunders Beach or Cable Beach.
This was definetly the perfect place for my family and I while on vacation in Nassau Bahamas. We had a wonderful time but inspite of that having a very comfortable place to stay at an affortable price made a whole lot of difference. We'll definetly do it all over again. thumbs up!!!
We wanted to stay away from large resorts and hotels with their outrageous costs and explore the local area. Julie's apartment is exactly that and in the right spot for walking to the beach and Fish Fry(5 minutes) and downtown Nassau (15 minutes) She and her family are great hosts. Some of her family lives in the same apt. complex and are so helpful and kind. Julie took us to the grocery store on our first night there and we stocked up on breakfast foods and snacks. There is a small grocery store around the corner and we picked up a newspaper, water and other necessities there during the week. The apartment is very clean, has great wifi and had everything we needed. We loved talking to the locals in the area, and being in a quiet location. If we get the opportunity to return to Nassau we will book with Julie again. Thank you and your family Julie.
We liked the location and the hospitality Julie gave it to us, she gave us a ride thet we get familiar where we are, where are the beach , how to get to the Paradise iland, where to shop. The fish market is the best and it is close, just 5 min walk. We had a very good time, thanks Julie.
Julie's place is low maintenance and cosy with a fully equipped kitchen, cable TV, ceiling fans and airconditioning so it definitely met the needs of my family of 5 for 9 days.
Julie arranged airport pickup and took us to the grocery store and laundromat (she can also arrange for someone else to do your laundry) which was great. Julie kept in contact regularly.
The Ardastra Zoo is a few minutes walk away, the kids will enjoy the flamingo show and feeding the rainbow lorikeets. There is also cricket or the cricket club for a meal and Fort Charlotte is in walking distance too.
Fish Fry is a 5-10 minute walk at the end of the road, it has a great selection of seafood restaurants and although everyone claims to be the original Fish Fry, we recommend 'Oh Andros', large servings of food for the same price as the others. You have to try the conch fritters and grilled lobster tail.
You can catch a #10 or #12 jitney (mini bus) from Fish Fry to go east downtown (different museums and shops) or west to go to various beaches (like Cable beach) or the airport. The #12 can take you all the way to Clifton Heritage Park, snorkeling in the underwater sculpture garden. It usually costs $1.25pp per ride, a little more if you go far. They stop running at 6.30pm.
We hired a car for a couple of days just to explore at our own leisure, loaded up with our beach gear and the cooler from the house to visit other beaches at Paradise Island as well as just driving along the coast (visit the Rum Cake Factory!). Hire online, it is more expensive to hire over the phone or as a walk-in. Julie provides a car space.
We stayed in Julie's condo in March 2015 and it met our needs very well. Its location gave us easy access to points of interest, it was comfortable to stay in and Julie went out of her way to be kind and helpful. We would stay there again without hesitation.
Our family me ,my husband and daughter 3 years old stayed by Julie in March 2015 ,16 days . The Apartment was very clean and well furnished. What you see in the pictures is exactly what you get .Its close to the bus station ,5 minutes walk . Buses coming every 2 minutes , you can take a bus 10 ride to down town or cable beach , its realy very good conections. Fish fry is also 5 minutes walk from Julie Apartment , there are a lot of nice restaurants with tipical caribean atmosphare , i have never eaten so delicious lobster or shrimps . Julie is a great host is very nice person very helpfull and kind, she helped arrange for taxi when needed and always asks as if we need some help . Thanks Julie for your hospitality .We had a great time .We highly recommend it for all who want to have a nice time in Nassau.
Juile is the BEST, she is your personal entertainment, tour and dinning guide, her place meets and exceeds expectations for cleanliness and requirements for a short/ extended stay. If I didn't have to go back to work my husband and I would have stayed for as long as she would have us. Julie along with her fellow Bahamians made our 15 night stay on the island the best holiday we have ever experienced. I would highly recomment this suite for anyone and for any amount of time.
