Amazing Cabin and Location

  • 5 of 5

You think, cabin, Okay I need to get some of the essentials.

Not at Cabins on the Bluff. Wonderful amenities in the kitchen, bath....pizza stone, baking and frying equipment, fire pit for roasting marshmallows and gas grill. We left items behind for the next adventurers. So, go first to the cabin and see what is there, then go to the grocery store. Eventually there are plans for a washer and dryer in two of the cabins for long stay guests.

The view is beyond amazing. Cook Inlet--two volcanoes. Chuck and Julie were wonderful hosts. The cabins are in a great spot to explore All of the Kenai pennisula.

Will we recommend to others, YES. We did not want to leave and we have already given out cards to those we met at meals outside the cabin and on tours.

One of the most amazing things---getting up at 4:45 am and looking outside and seeing an amazing rainbow across Mount Illiamna. We are planning an extended stay in the next few years. Hooray for Home Away and the commercials Superbowl Day.

Absolutely amazing!

  • 5 of 5

My family spent 8 night in these cabins beginning on July 17, 2015, 3 families using 3 cabins. My family 2 adults and 2 teens) stayed in Wild Rose. The cabin was spotless and had just about all the amenities of home--washer and dryer, lots of bath towels and extra sheets. The kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans, spices, coffee, sugar, and creamer, just to name a few things. The bed and fold-out couch were both comfortable.

The view out the front of the cabins is amazing. Beautiful view of the volcanoes across Cook Inlet. Fire pits, grills, and picnic tables out front made a perfect dinner spot several nights. Chuck was an awesome host. He made sure we had everything we needed.

Easy day trips from the cabins--Homer, Soldotna, Seward--make this a great place to stay. Lots of wildlife viewing from these cabins. We saw bald eagles, a black bear, and a moose in the front and back of the cabins. The perfect place to stay!

Rainy but wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

Our 1st VRBO and 1st time to Alaska. Celebrated our 10th wedding anniversay; had a GREAT time. Stayed in the large cabin "Poppy"; pretty AWESOME. All amenities were 1st class. Chuck & Julie were great hosts. It may have been rainy outside, but it was warm & cozy inside. Their central location worked very well for travel between Homer & Kenai.

Would absolutely live there if I could!

  • 5 of 5

Six Fairbanksan women hit the road in August on a planned halibut trip to Valdez, only our boat broke down last minute and we ended up heading to Ninilchik instead. We took a stab in the dark with Cabins on the Bluff to see if they had availability and Chuck and Julie were so accomodating and kind to get us into two cabins.

The cabins are beautiful and well stocked with a fire pit, wood, picnic table, grill, a washer/dryer, and comfortable beds. The view is AMAZING. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer. It was truly wonderful.

As an Alaskan, I rarely pay more than a camp site fee for a place to stay because I'd rather pitch a tent or stay at a friends house. I can now say with certainty that Cabins on the Bluff has changed my mind about the way I plan to spend time in the Ninilchik area. Next time, I hope to stay a bit longer just to spend a day or two lounging around the cabin just to take it all in.

Thank you for the terrific get away!

Hap & Deb's Alaska Adventure

  • 5 of 5

Our 5 night stay at Cabins on the Bluff, was certainly not long enough! We are planning a return visit with friends because the cabin was so enjoyable & relaxing. The views across Cook Inlet of the volcanoes was spectacular and the location is great for exploring the Kenai peninsula, 1 hour to Homer and 1/2 an hour to Soldotna for groceries, restaurants and lots of places in between to explore. The cabin is very nicely decorated, not tacky and VERY clean with dishwasher, washer & dryer, cable tv, covered porch, firepit and propane grills. Chuck is around and keeps the place in tip-top shape and can answer ?'s if you need anything. We went halibut fishing in Ninilchik and everyone caught their limit and flew out of Homer to Clark National Park to spend the afternoon with the bears with Alaska Bear Adventures/K-Bay Air. Went fly fishing from Cooper Landing with Tom Lessard's Fish Company - HUGE trout, catch-n-release. Bring good rain gear is our advice...we had tons of bug spray and never even used it. Missing the beautiful sunsets from Cabins on the Bluff, it was still light at 11:30 p.m. We could say we could cross it off our "bucket list" but we WILL BE BACK!
