Beautiful secluded large villa on 5.6 acres with 345 feet of beach front. Very private 2 story concrete structure with wrap around decks on both levels. Villa Ranguana is the largest, 6800 square feet including decks and the nicest villa in Belize. We only rent the Villa as a unit so you have the entire Villa to yourself.
The upper level has a huge air conditioned master bedroom with a king size bed and a large master bath all in marble and natural stone with 2 showers, one in open air, and a Jacuzzi tub. A large kitchen with granite counter tops, bar with stools, all stainless appliances and fully equipped. Also on the second level is a half bath, dining area and a large living room - sitting area with double doors on 3 sides with gorgeous views of the Caribbean and gardens.
The first level has 3 very large air conditioned bedrooms each with their own bathroom all in marble and natural stone. Bedroom #1 has a king size bed and a trundle bed, bedroom #2 has a queen size bed and bedroom #3 has a queen size bed and a trundle bed. Also on the first level is a breezeway and a laundry room with a washer and dryer.
The entire 345 feet of beach is all sand with very good snorkeling on beautiful coral heads just off the beach.
The Villa is ideal for weddings.
Placencia Airport pickup on arrival.
Full maid service included - make beds and clean bathrooms - housekeeping available for an additional charge.
We had a fantastic trip to Belize, and our stay at Villa Ranguana made it so. We had eight people total (4 adults, 4 tweens) and had plenty of space in the house. We loved having the beach toys to play with - paddling and snorkeling options. We agree with the other reviews, regarding the wonderful presence of Albert and Francesca, and their friendly dogs. We hired a cook for one meal, based on their recommendation, and she was fantastic. We spent a week there, but could have easily spent two. One full day of doing absolutely nothing. A day trip to Ranguana Caye. A shopping/strolling trip to town. Two adventures: ziplining and cave tubing. A day of chartered fishing.
The open floor plan of the house allows for lots of visiting and hanging out during meals. The balcony provides additional seating/hammock space. The four poster bed in the master bedrooms is awesome. There are three different shower heads in the master bath. Choose your favorite! Nice collection of DVD movies and paperback books, if you are so inclined. Towels and linens are quite nice.
If you are at all considering this property, please book it. You will not be disappointed.
We arrived at the villa to find that the on-line pictures did not do the house justice. It was beautiful and so well kept. Stan met us to welcome us, show us around and to give some great advice on the surrounding area. We had a few days to prepare for a beach wedding and were most impressed when Albert and Francesca (house keepers) were so helpful and were more than willing to pitch in and help with some of the preparations. The wedding went without and hitch (having our own private beach was really a dream come true for our daughter). Then some time for fun in the sun. The beach was incredible; Albert raked it every day and Francesca just quietly went about her housekeeping duties. We loved waking up every morning and walking out into that warm sea breeze. Stan would stop by and offer suggestions for eating or other sites, which almost always met our expectations. The house had some great extras: beach chairs, kayaks, snorkeling gear, etc. which we were welcome to use. It was so nice to be able to watch the kids play from the house, the shaded veranda or on the beach with them. Albert, and his 2 super friendly dogs, was always around so safety was never a concern. I would not hesitate to stay at the Villa Ranguana again.
We spent a blissful week at the villa. From the moment we pulled in and saw the ocean through the breezeway and the gorgeous house, we were sold! Stan and Mary were very attentive and helpful both before and during our stay. The villa is spectacular, immaculate and quiet. The grounds are beautifully kept and the beach is serene and maintained daily. The groundskeeper/housekeepers were extremely helpful and thorough. They even opened coconuts from the trees for us! The house itself is gorgeous, clean, very comfortable and very well stocked. It would be great for a large group or family but it was still perfect for just the four if us. We found the area to be central for allot of day trips sightseeing and we loved being close to the stores/restaurants in the village. Best weeks vacation and we can still close our eyes and feel the ocean breeze blowing through the house while we sipped on a drink...fabulous! We would love to be back again sometime.
Spent a relaxing Christmas Holiday week at Villa Ranguana (party of 9). The villa has a fantastic private beach and view of the ocean, with caretakers living next door. Housekeeping service was very good, with Stan and Mary (managers) providing welcome grocery shopping service upon arrival (dinner and breakfast), and helpful advice about local establishments and things to do. The villa is just far enough from town that, unless you are a strong walker, a car or a golf cart is a must to get around. Placencia is definitely worth a visit, with great places to eat (many noted by other reviewers). We liked the Tipsy Tuna for drinks and the nearby Mariposa (20 min walk) for great food. The villa is well furnished, and the kitchen has everything we needed to make any meal we chose to stay home for. We hired a local chef (recommended by Mary) to cook us several Belizean dinners and breakfasts (great for hassle-free meals without having to leave the villa). We felt very safe – the caretakers were walking the property regularly and their dogs (friendly to guests) announced any arrivals in classic dog fashion. We would definitely stay at Villa Ranguana again!
Our family of four stayed at the Villa for a week in March. We all loved swimming and snorkeling in the ocean just behind the Villa and playing in the sand. Each day started with a swim and ended with a swim. The caretakers next door were very nice and welcoming; opening coconuts with a machete is not something I will try to repeat at home. The manager (Stan and Mary) were also very welcoming and 'loaned' us their dog. We all felt safe and well cared for in the Villa.
While it was sometimes hard to leave the fun at the Villa, the town of Placencia has great places to eat and play. We are still talking about the ice cream at Tuttifrutti and the breakfast at the Maya Beach Bistro.
I can highly recommend the Villa as a great place for your Belize adventure.
I wrote a review last year, but for whatever reason it did not get published. As a result, I only remember the names of the property managers, Stan & Mary. The family living on-site was super nice and went out of their way to make everyone (especially the kids) feel welcome. The property is well kept and relatively close to town (just outside of a super long walk), which was perfect for us. There are no negatives; however, there are two things renters should consider. The kitchen and common room are upstairs. This did not work out so well for my elderly parents who had to climb the stairs multiple times during the day. Also, the property does sleep 14, as advertised, but it will mean people will be doubling up in the beds and tripling/quadrupling up in each of the rooms. If there are family squabbles on your vacation (I doubt I am the only one who has experienced this), it can present some logistics challenges with the sleeping arrangements. We managed through it, but if I were to rent a place for 12-14 again, I would opt for a property with more bedrooms. Again, please do not take these last two comments as negatives. We had an amazing time and the property was beautiful!
