Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.
Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.
Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!
We enjoyed the nice cabin style house- definitely larger than it appeared. The washer and dryer were pretty smelly (musky) and the beds could use some pillow toppers. But overall we had a great time.
The Red Cabin in Welches is a cute place. There had been plenty of sleeping room; seems like it would be a great place to bring friends or a family to get away for a weekend. Had been worried about wifi, as previous reviews had said the service was shoty. However, always had wifi, but AT&T had service in and out. It was a rainy weekend, therefore, not sure if the musty smell was from that. I doubt it, I've been to homes that have a constant musty smell, and that's probably the case with this place. My husband thinks the couch had a "wet-dog" smell. It did somewhat, with a few slobber spots as well. The hot tub was great, along with the fire place. Had everything we needed to survive in a home like environment. Only needed a mop to clean up after we tracked mud and rain in constantly. I will say that the floor had already seemed a tad dirty when we arrived. Also, the stand up shower door had been leaking water. The door just needed to be re-aligned. Would we stay here again? Probably not, unless we couldn't find something better!
This location was perfect, the house was great, the beds were terrible! The two queen beds have IKEA foam mattresses that are almost as hard as a box spring, and I am not exaggerating. Fortunately there were inner spring mattresses under some of the beds, and that is what we used. Hopefully the owners just ordered these and don't realize what they have placed in the house, as no one would find these acceptable. We loved that we could not see the other houses around us, that it was very quiet, and the scenery was beautiful. We did not like that we found out the grill was not operational until after we bought steaks. The WiFi is spotty, but that can't be helped in the mountains. If it went down, it was back up within a few minutes. The kitchen was very adequately stocked, and the dishwasher worked great. The fireplace is not currently working, so I would be very hesitant to rent this home during the winter as it is the main source of heat. The two downstairs bedrooms have baseboard heaters, but the main part of the house is very chilly, even in summer, without a major heat source. The bed configuration is a little odd in that the bedroom with the attached bathroom had two fulls, while the upstairs bedroom has a queen. So the parents were the ones coming downstairs in the middle of the night. We knew that going in, but you will want to be aware of that configuration. Overall, if they fix the mattress problem, we would not hesitate to stay there again in the summer.
Wow this place was worth every penny. First off it's a bit hard to find as the house is hidden in the trees but once we did find the drive way we were pleasantly surprised how private it felt. The outside wrap around deck was perfect for mornings sipping coffe and doing a lil outdoor yoga. Hot tub was clean and private. The in side was cozy and had tons of space, all the appliances were working and there were plenty of things to use for cooking. Washer and dryer looked fairly new and fresh. There were tons of amazing hikes with in a very short drive and a market that had everything we needed right down the street.
Our only gripe if you can even call it that was that there were no ice trays in the freezer. And the Internet was pretty bad at night and when the clouds were thick. I only mention the bad wifi because if you need to do work like us you may have troubles. If anything it helped keep us away from our phones and computers and apreaciate our time there more though so really complain. Highly recommend this place my girlfriend loves it too!
