We are a married couple from New Jersey, who enjoy the outdoors activities that Vermont offers year round. We chose Chimney Hill for its easy access to both downtown Wilmington for shopping and dining, as well as, ability to get to Mt. Snow for a fun day of skiing at our own pace. We enjoy hiking to the top of Haystack with the trail head in walking distance from the house.
Ed Tyerman purchased this house in 2009
The home is open and inviting. It is also well constructed, cozy and warm. We wanted to be high on the mountain to have the benefit of views, cool summer nights and breezes. We also wanted to be close enough to the clubhouse the kids can walk over.
We love the size and layout of our home. For us, we usually invite two other couples to stay with us and we split families on different levels. This gives everyone their own space and bathroom to set up. We always feel we have plenty of space to spread out, with enough room to watch a movie together, eat a meal, or just relax!
We had a wonderful stay in this lovely mountain home. It is welcoming in every way; exceedingly neat, clean, and comfortable. The decor is lovely as well. The owners are very conscientious in providing all you need for a lovely vacation. The pictures do not do the house justice.
We were a multi-generational group and each of us found leisure time in the house easy and fun. Our little guy (age 2 1/2) loved the trains; our middle group (young adult couples) appreciated the movies and games, and of course the big screen TV for football; and the old guys loved the comfortable rooms for reading and chatting. We all loved the easy access to the mountain for skiing and snowshoeing, and access to town for the few things we needed to pick up. A bonus was watching the gorgeous sunrises through the winter trees.
All in all, it was just a fabulous and delightful place for us to be together. Most highly recommended!
The house was perfect for our extended family get together--nice entryway, very large open kitchen and large dining area. The large finished basement with train table was a hit for our 3 under 4 year olds which also allowed the other adults to congregate in the large comfortable living room upstairs. Edward was very responsive to emails, the welcome basket was a nice touch! If we come back to Chimney Hill will definitely look to use this house again.
The house was as described and extremely comfortable. It felt like you were at your own home. Owner was easily accessible and answered all our questions immediately. There were 12 of us (4 kids, 8 adults) and we all enjoyed our time here. Downtown Wilmington was charming and only 10 minutes away, as was the local Shaw's. Kitchen was fully stocked with necessary utensils, pots, etc. and we were able to prepare a feast for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The kids did a sled dog ride at Husky Works in nearby Wardsboro, and it was amazing - highly recommend this if you are a dog lover. Beds were comfortable, showers worked well and having linens at the house was an added bonus. Plenty of space for all, we never felt like we were on top of each other. Great stay and great owner!
No Line on the Horizon is a beautiful house. The decor and condition of the house is better than the pictures online and truly top notch. All of the beds are very comfortable, the house is fully equipped with everything 13 people could possibly need including games, laundry with detergent, outdoor furniture and fire pit.
we will be back!

From the moment we began conversing, we knew Ed would take care of us. He and his wife were so on top of things from the very beginning, we knew we would enjoy our stay. Myself and 10 friends enjoyed the house and all it had to offer for the whole weekend. We would definitely love to come back next winter or even this summer!
We enjoyed a wonderful stay at the spacious, well stocked, charmingly decorated, very comfortable Tyerman ski house. A wonderful goodie bag marked our arrival. Such a nice touch!
House was very clean, beds were very comfortable and all the essentials; paper towels, tp, cleaners, spices were well stocked. Game room a kid's and parent's dream. It's all there for you, no need to pack the kitchen sink!
Air hockey was a fun plus!
Only drawbacks as previously mentioned fireplace has some issues and dvd player needs an update, and no potato masher or measuring spoons to be found. Small issues which I am sure Ed will remedy because the owners strike us super meticulous people! This is a great house perfect for sharing with another family. So much room!
This is the 3rd consecutive year we have rented this home, and we have loved every visit. House is always clean. We cook most nights after skiing - the kitchen is very well equipped and everything in good working order. In my opinion, the best thing about this house is the layout. We have had 12 people there and it still feels like there is space. And the dining area accommodates all 12 (a tad tight but still works). The house feels quiet. The early risers wanting to get to the slopes do not wake the others when they are banging around in the kitchen. We like that the house is high on the hill - even if that makes driving a little more challenging it feels more mountain-like and some views. We usually park at Carinthia or Sundance so driving to the slopes is just 10 minutes. Mother nature was not terribly agreeable this year but the lack of snow forced us to try some new things in the area - if you cannot ski bowling is a lot fun and the clubhouse game room is good for the kids! There are many nice walks and hikes in the area. Previous years the weather allowed for ice skating (at Chimeny Hill - free and there are tons of skates you can borrow) and sledding, which was really fun. The homeowners go out of their way to be sure you have what you need and everything is in good condition. Clearly, they take pride in their home. I would highly recommend renting from Ed and Keri.
4 WD cars and trucks will do best during winter months- please plan accordingly.
