|Minimum Stay||3 - 4 nights|
'Wow' is what you will say when you walk into this ocean view home situated on a hillside in the gated community of Kapoho Beach Lots. It's bright and airy with the afternoon and evening tradewinds blowing through the space.
You will love to lounge on the large covered lanai overlooking the ocean with beautiful sunrises every morning.
Step down the lava rock steps into the warm pond. It's almost like having your own mini fern grotto. This secluded warm pond is thermally heated and keeps a temperature of between 90-92 degrees year round. It's surrounded by ferns, palms and some say, 'healing properties' of the noni plants. The pond is between 3 feet to over 7 feet depending on the tides. (Sorry no fishing in the pond).
Only 1-1/2 blocks, or about a 4 minute walk to the famous Champagne Pond where you can swim with the sea turtles.
The home offers many amenities - two separate bedrooms on each side of the living space, with their own bathrooms. Perfect for two couples! Each bedroom has a queen bed and view of the ocean. One bedroom also has it's own TV/DVD player and a desk, if you just have to work on your vacation.
The large great room has vaulted ceilings, views of the ocean, a dining table for 4 people, a comfortable sofa, two lounge chairs and a large flat screen TV with Direct TV and all the movie and sports channels. Wireless internet is provided.
The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator/freezer, icemaker and water in the door, electric stove, coffee pot, dishwasher, rice cooker, blender, nice pots and pans, glasses, dishes and cutlery. There is also an indoor laundry area with washer and dryer.
There is a covered carport for two cars. 4 guest maximum. Sorry, no parties.

If there is "Paradise" this is the closest one on earth. We loved your home so much that we are planning for the return.
We are back again for a lovely stay at K C's.
The kitchen has lots of stainless pot, pans, and frying pans, which is great, (because previous rentals have had scratched Teflon cookware.) Pat and K C even make sure I have muffin pans.
I enjoy the pond every day, and Champagne Pond occasionally. It is also a very walk-able neighborhood.
Bed is very comfortable.
We have eaten every meal outdoors in the 35 days we have stayed here. We love the lanai.
This was an outstanding location - the house was large and spacious, very well equipped and set up perfectly for two couples. Outside, there is a naturally heated pool which has a therapeutic effect. The famous champagne pool is in walking distance with the volcano only 40 minutes away.
Pat, the owner, was gracious and informative - providing us with the best tasting bananas that we have ever had. We would definitely return!
My husband and me stayed in this wonderful house over Christmas and New Year's Day. The house was just perfect, I just can confirm all the positive reviews from earlier visitors to this property.
Thank you, Pat and KC for sharing your wonderful property with us and thank you also to the manager, Jamie for all her support.
We hope to be back soon!
Well appointed house and very comfortable for our group of four adults. Well stocked with all of the conveniences and everything you need for activities close by. Plenty of room, beds were very comfortable and the property is very clean. Beautiful location and a short walk to the amazing Champagne Ponds where we were able to swim in the lovely warm water with tropical fish. The pond in the front yard is a novel extra and it was great to relax in there after a day out. Friendly and very helpful owner/manager(s). We would recommend this property to anyone and could easily come back ourselves.
We were thrilled with the house!
Welcoming and clean the house had a lovley open feel. The house was well stocked, had plenty of room, and the beds were comfortable.
A large covered lanai (verandah) provided the perfect place to eat as we watched the night fall across the lovley view.
An easy walk to Champagne pond.
The secluded private tidal pool was the highlight for us.
We were sad to leave this wonderful holiday home.
Our stay at KC's was like many on here - perfect. The directions to the property are very clear and concise. Once we had collected the keys and put the gate tag on our mirror it was smooth sailing. Tip for those not used to reading directions is to put the house address into your GPS or smart phone!
KC's is walking distance to some fantastic sheltered ocean ponds - we spent hours at the Champagne Pond watching the fish and moray eels - great intro for our novice snorkelling friend before heading out into he open ocean. Also great for the kids.
The house itself is just as described and more. Spotlessly clean and well appointed, we didn't have to buy anything except food to cook. There are ample supplies of detergents, soaps and all the basics for cooking your own meals. A water filter jug, coffee maker and ice dispenser made it all so easy. This is a real plus for a holiday rental. A short drive away are some good restaurants in Pahoa including a natural food store and other supermarkets aren't too far away on the road to Hilo. The Farmers Market is a real highlight and worth checking out.
The Lanai is HUGE and has great views over the palm trees to the ocean. There's an almost constant breeze and the ceiling fans can be easily adjusted up or down for some extra air movement. We didn't have a problem finding a speed that suited the weather.
There's plenty of beach gear to use including chairs, boards, snorkels, water shoes etc. It really made for a low-maintenance, carefree vacation! There's also passionfruit growing on the fence, some bananas and pineapple in the garden making this a true tropical paradise. Although it rains in the evening, on a clear night the stars are really fantastic with such low light pollution, and there's a gentle evening chorus that sounds straight off a relaxation CD.
We had arrived early and the cleaners were just leaving but welcomed us warmly and had left some fresh fruits in the basket for us. The owner contacted us before we departed to let us know that the house was free for the day if we wanted to stay on until our flight, which we really appreciated given we had a late afternoon flight. We'd love to come back sometime.
Lava flow viewing (as Pele Permits), just about 15 minute drive. Only 30 miles to Volcano National Park. Snorkel with the sea turtles in Champagne Pond, just 1-1/2 blocks. Great snorkeling at the Waiopae tidepools, one mile away. Waterfalls, beautiful coastline rides down Red Road (Hiway 137). Historic Pahoa Village on 12 miles, with many great restaurants, banks, boutiques, Long Drugs.
Note: As of 10/2014, there is a lava flow slowly advancing towards Pahoa. This could be a once in a lifetime chance to witness a change in the Hawaii landscape, if the lava advances into the town. There is a possibility that the highway 130 could be covered by the lava. The County has already built several alternate contingency routes - good gravel roads for travel to and from the Puna area, if needed. The car rental companies will allow rental cars to use these roads. We recommend 4-wheel drive.
