|Minimum Stay||3 - 4 nights|
Our charming hide-away in the quiet residential section of the French Quarter is cozy and welcoming. And it's a wonderful place to call home while you explore New Orleans! Our Condo has 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, a living room and small kitchen. The exposed brick walls and fireplace (non-working) lend a historic feel to the suite. It offers the privacy and quiet to guests looking for a charming place to become a part of the life of New Orleans. Sleeps ONLY 3 MAX (2 in Queen Bed and 1 on couch)
Located in the residential area of the French Quarter, the building is one of New Orleans great examples of Greek Revival Architecture. It has a stately pillared porch, heavy cornices shadowed by wide, plain friezes, and bold simple moldings. It was designed by the same architect that designed the St. Louis Cathedral and was built in 1847. The land it sits on was once a Barracks of the hospital built by the French Army. The Condo is on the 2nd floor with a small balcony overlooking the lush private courtyard. Both the Balcony and Courtyard are yours to enjoy while you stay. We're 1 block from Royal street for shopping, 2 blocks from Bourbon Street, and only steps away from dozens of great restaurants and neighborhood bars. The French Quarter is 'made for walking.' The blocks are small and compact. 2 Blocks to Decatur Street and the French Market. 4 blocks to Jackson Square and the Cathedral. There is so much to see and do and you can walk to Pat O'Brien's, Cafe du Monde, or Bourbon Street. Our little escape is a great place and we hope you'll enjoy the 'City That Care Forgot.'
Located two streets away from Bourbon, and 4 Streets over from St. Ann, within a 5-7 minute walk you can be at OZ, Bourbon Pub and Parade, Good Friends, Rawhide, Napoleon's Itch, The Clover Grill, and Lafitte's in Exile. Close to several small grocery stores and liquor stores too!
Start your day in the Courtyard with Mimosa's, coffee, or beignets. Enjoy leisurely walking the Quarter, a Steamboat Ride on the River, and cocktails on the balcony before dancing the night away on Bourbon Street or listening to some of the country's best Jazz Musicians at clubs within blocks of the unit. The City is one of America's Jewels and can be your for exploring and falling in love with. Don't blame us when you want to return to her again and again and again!
No Pets, No Smoking. Coin operated washer and dryer available on the property. Secure gated entrance prevents unauthorized access onto the property. Parking is available in the French Market Lot, where you can park and walk a short 2 blocks back and forth from the unit to your car.
The condo also contains a comprehensive Video Library of movies filmed in and about New Orleans for your viewing pleasure! We know, we know - you don't come to New Orleans to stay inside and watch TV. But who knows when a rainy day, a unexpected illness, or the exhaustion of 'playing Tourist' just demands that you slow down for a bit? We have (and are constantly on the look for) movies that were filmed in New Orleans. Some are great, some are cheesy, some have super music, and all have wonderful scenes of New Orleans past that you'll never be able to see any other way. So look through the catalog (that is constantly updated) and pick a thriller, a romance, a jazz documentary, or a Swashbuckling adventure with Jean Lafitte and pop it in the DVD and enjoy yet another perspective of New Orleans! You won't find this amenity any where else! And if you have any information about films shot on location in New Orleans we will be delighted to add to our knowledge of New Orleans Film History. She is becoming the 'Hollywood of the South' again for good reason. But the first films were shot here in 1898 and there is a great body of work worth seeing.

We are a group of friends who love New Orleans and love going to New Orleans so much that we bought a condo in the French Quarter! We are not able to go more than 2-3 times a year each, but wanted to be a part of this Great City. So we looked and shopped for almost 2 years before taking the plunge to become Vieux Carre property owners. We don't regret this decision and will use the unit as much as we can.
The Owner purchased this condo in 2009
The restaurants within walking distance. The great Jazz Clubs. The history, the museums, the art. New Orleans is just such a great city!
the condo gave us the chance to experience good living in the French Quarter of NOLA, behind the green shutters. The bed was very comfortable; we slept well. The kitchen contains what we needed for cooking although we only ate breakfast 'in'. It was warm or cool when we needed it to be with good systems in each room. It needs a wee bit of TLC and cleaning including such things as the bath mat and the shower curtain which we expect will have happened before the next guest, the owner is very responsive. We will return on our next trip if the friends we travel with don't beat us to it.
The location was awesome...very convenient to a lot of things. But little things like no hand soap in the bathroom and mold on the shower curtain and a wierd funky stain on the bathroom rug were a bit of a turn off. When I rent a condo I really don't think to bring hand soap for the sink! It's a quaint condo although it felt a little cramped even for two people. The bed was comfortable . Spending $50 on some small improvements would greatly improve this place. If that stuff isn't important to you then I would recommend this place for the location and the good price.
This charming condo and the genuinely kind owner deserve more than five stars! First of all, the location is wonderful. Close enough to everything, but situated perfectly to avoid the noise. Occasionally, we used Uber and the streetcars to get places, which was a great (and cheap) option if you're short on time or have trouble walking for long periods.
The condo had everything we needed, with the exception of extra toilet paper and hand soap (unless they were somewhere that we didn't think to look), which we were able to purchase at a Walgreens in the French Quarter. Not a big deal for us considering the rest of our entire experience was SUPERIOR. The place feels larger than it is and has such a cozy feel and style that reflects the city it is in. So much better than staying in a hotel! Not to mention, the bed is VERY comfortable. We slept better than we have in a long time and regret not looking to see what kind of mattress it was!
The building is securely gated and the actual door on the condo has at least eight or more locks on it. We felt extremely safe. Also, the shared courtyard is even more private than it appears in the photos, and makes the condo feel so secluded.
We will absolutely recommend this property to family and friends, and will definitely stay here again for our next New Orleans visit! Thank you, Bill!
After having lived in the French Quarter, we knew what to expect with a rental like this. This place exceeded all of our expectations! I'll have to admit, we didn't spend much time here, though as the until is in the French quarter and blocks from Frenchman Street. The unit is well appointed and clean. Couldn't have asked for more.
This place was SO conveniently located, clean and well-stocked. Bill was also communicative and friendly, and answered all my questions before I asked them. The only thing that sucked was that they seemed to have run out of hand soap and we had to buy some ourselves, but I guarantee Bill would have fixed that immediately if we had brought it to his attention. We loved the movies, too! Thanks for a wonderful stay during a very special time for us (our honeymoon!)!
William was a wonderful host, and we love our stay in New Orleans.
This was the perfect balance of proximity, but not actually being right by the noise of the surrounding attractions. Bourbon Street can get a bit loud, so it's great to be able to have quiet sleep near it, and still be right near the action.
Make sure to visit Dat Dog on Frenchmen Street.
I would recommend buying any groceries for cooking if you play to before getting into the quarter, shopping options for every day goods aren't super plentiful, so it's easier to get the essentials on the way in. No complaints though, thanks very much!
One of our Owners grew up in New Orleans. He has written a Visitor's Guide chock full of all the great things to do in the City. And this Guide is for our friends, family, and guests to use while they are in the city. A copy will be in the unit for you to use while you stay. And, when you book a reservation, he will send you an electronic version of the Guide(pdf) for you to use to plan your trip! Complete with maps and an insider's viewpoint on all to see and do, this Guide is not available anywhere and is only for our friends, family, and guests! Laissez les bon temps, rouler!
