Note: There is a 1200 (twelve hundred) square foot unoccupied studio on the property in close proximity to the creek house. There is also a cedar hot tub with steps down to the creek and seasonal operation usually from about Spring to October!
This was our one year and summer vacation all rolled into one! We enjoyed fishing for trout and cute sunnies in the pond. Our jobs are both very stressful, so when we are by the creek all that stress melted away.
This is a perfect place to see the true beauty of the outdoors. From all the wildlife to the serene views.
THANKS for this lovely piece of heaven.

What a wonderful weekend at the creek house! This was our second year at this beautiful spot and my husband and I are in love with Big Al's cozy cabin! We are already looking forward to next year!
Wow this place is so nicely done from lighting to land ! We can not wait for Spring/ Summer to enjoy another extended stay. The private pond is so Beautiful. I can't wait to sit on the dock and kick back. Excellent Excellent Excellent!
By the time my wife had suggested it five or six times over a two-year period, Big Al's had become a sort of ever-present, hovering symbol of how much she wanted to escape our life in Philly... and how little we could afford to do so. When her Christmas present for me this year was a weekend getaway in January (to Big Al's, of course) while our 3-year-old stayed with my parents, I was at least as apprehensive as I was excited. Her expectations for this now-mythic rental would be very high. My expectations for our one and only weekend getaway since our daughter was born: also high! It wasn’t cheap. Disappointment seemed certain.
So that's why I'm writing this: Because the weekend we had under the watchful eye of that gigantic novelty fish over the fireplace was among the best I've ever had, full stop.
The cabin is simply lovely, and years of renters (combined with an owner who clearly cares) have sanded all the rough edges off the experience of staying there. They've achieved that tricky balance of projecting cleanliness and simplicity without feeling antiseptic and anonymous, and every little thing you need is right where it should be. We felt instantly at home.
In wintertime, the view out the windows is pretty hard to believe. The design and position of the building vis-a-vis the creek, road, and surrounding land exerts subtle but careful control over your sight-lines, and pulls off the trick of convincing you that the cabin is truly in the middle of nowhere. The nearby roads just kind of vanish, and you're left with nothing but the woods, the creek babbling under the bridge, and the beautifully landscaped property itself. A thick layer of fresh snowfall was the cherry on top.
We cuddled in the creek room reading books and sipping beverages, cooked and ate my wife's legendary salmon, watched movies by the fireplace, listened to music, wandered the grounds (14 acres! there's a pond!), and even found some time to gaze into each other's eyes. I don't know what to say except that if you're in the market for something along those lines, you’ve probably found it.
Well done, Al, and many thanks.
A must booking. Don't even double think it or someone else will grab your spot. It's that great where words can't do justice. Just go.
Wonderful little place. Loved that we could bring our dogs with us on our mini vacation. We will be back in the future.
We came up here for New Years and we loved everything about it !! If your looking for a cute cozy cabin in the woods this is the place .. we are def coming back !!!
