This unique duplex in Mission Beach offers two beautiful options for your next vacation. We have a Luxury one story unit and a two story unit with rooftop deck that is in the heart of Mission Beach. Less than one block away are fresh hot cinnamon rolls at the local bakery, the Boardwalk Bistro for outdoor dining and Olive Cafe for lunch.
Our one-story unit, Champagne Sands, offers an upgraded kitchen with granite countertops, Viking stove, and a very large island with bar stools, prep sink and a filtered water tap. The master bath has a jacuzzi tub and shower for your evening relaxation. The second bath has a surround shower with tile. You can sit on the redwood deck just outside the front door and watch the sunset, and the waves crash on the beach. Each bedroom has queen-size beds and the living room (see photo to left) has a new sectional couch. The master bedroom has futon/couch for sleeping a couple extra guests or kids. The fireplace, single-car garage, washer and dryer, DVD player, Wireless LAN and cable TV are added bonuses to this beautiful beach house.
Our two-story unit, Surfer's Sand Castle, has a large, roof-top deck with table, umbrella, chairs and Gas BBQ for you to relax, watch the sunset, and have a breathtaking, 360-degree view of the surrounding area. During the summer nights you have a clear view of the Sea World fireworks show. The smaller kitchen is fully equipped and the extra bedroom has a Queen Bed, perfect for a second couple or families. The two parking spaces (tandem) with this unit are a definite rarity. The unit has 1 full bath upstairs and a 1/2 bath downstairs including a washer/dryer.

Private Property Owners and local to San Diego. We know the neighbors as well as the local attractions. Our famile (2 boys and a girl) use the property frequently during the off season and keep them up to our own high standards. We visit the property every Saturday during the summer to make sure everything is ready for the next guests.

We love San Diego and we love the beach. Our boys love to visit the beach and having a place just 40 yards away is a perfect fit.
We know the neighbors and they are long time residents which keep the area nice. The restaurants just around the corner make it easy for getting food whenever we feel the urge. We are 1 row of houses back from the beach, so we don't have to deal with people constantly looking into our property.
We stayed at the Champagne Sands Beach House for 10 days and were very pleased. The house was very comfortable; showers were awesome and beds were very very comfy. We had the pleasure of both meeting the owner and speaking with her husband on the phone, so very helpful with the few questions we had. Fantastic location. The deck was perfect for having our morning coffee and seeing the ocean as it is a house away. The house has everything you need. The garage & how it is situated in the alley made it difficult to drive right in. We found it was easier to back in. Parking is at a premium in the area so it is nice to have your own parking space. You won't go wrong renting this beach house.
Booked the Champagne Sands residence. Great stay in every way. Home is just like the pictures and the walk to the beach is a mere seconds. Mission Beach and Mission Bay, a walking distance as well, has everything. Emailed and spoke with the owners; both comfortable to interact with and very helpful. Responses were generally within minutes to a few hours. 1st time doing VRBO and PayPal and they walked me through the steps. Security refund was immediate. The home really does come with everything you need and having a garage is a huge plus in this area. I expect to be back next year.
This was the perfect rental house for a quick trip to the beach from Phoenix. I loved the location, the layout of the house, the roof top deck and many other things. The house was equipped with all of the extras-soap, towels, paper products, new appliances, etc.. It was very clean and the owners were great to work with. I am definitely going to rent this place again! Thank you!
We had an amazing time staying at this unit and the other one for a family reunion. Plenty of space for everyone and very clean. Both units have newer appliances and the furniture is in great shape. Just 1 house from the beach was ideal, especially with teenagers to watch over. We even had 1 girl in a wheel chair and would just have to carry her up the 2 patio steps, but plenty of room to maneuver in the 1 story duplex. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Got the deposit within a week. I would definitely stay again, in fact I have inquired for a time in 2014 to stay for a long weekend.
This house was wonderful! I decided to celebrate my 30th birthday here with 6 friends, and we all can't wait to get back. First of all it is in a great location, walking distance to everything. Guava beach is a wonderful bar/reataurant that is very close. The house is newly remodeled, beds were comfy, and bathrooms were spacious and clean. There was plenty of space and the front deck was perfect for people watching, BBQing, and having a beer or two. Also, you can see the ocean from the deck. Lastly, the owners were extremely friendly and also easy to work with...no complaints here!
Stayed for a week here during the summer with our two small boys, and we had everything we needed including a great, bright kitchen, nice linens and towels and pretty much all the beach gear you could ask for. The condo is across the alley from the houses right on the strand, so the location cannot be beat.

- good book shelf of titles + all the board games your kids could ever want
- since it's on an alley, it tends to be noisier, and traffic, people on foot, etc. go by at all hours
- neighbors were really noisy until wee hours of morning; beware the close quarters in that part of Mission Beach
- decent restaurants were a good mile up the Strand. No prob for us, but if you don't want to walk, parking is at a premium
- really narrow garage parking for this unit; contact owners before renting if you have a large vehicle
- kitchen cabinets could use a good resurfacing; some are pretty beat up in places
We'd definitely stay in this unit or the other next door (which we got a peek at) again.
