Why William Harty chose Rogers Park
The location is perfect. I wanted to be close to the lake, airport and Evanston. I am a fanatic for wonderful architechture and Rogers Park is known for the late 20's grand style. Only 10 miles from O'Hare Field. Midway Airport is 22 miles away. Just a 15 minute ride on the Union Pacific train to the heart of the city. This train stop is only 6 blocks from Residence on the Avenue. Ravinia Park, the out door concert venue can be reached in 20 minutes by this same train. The Red line will take you to Wrigley Field, Lincoln Park Zoo & to down town. Wrigley Field home to the World Series Championship Cubs is just 15 minutes from our location!
What makes this Condo unique
I love the location. All that the city has to offer is so reachable. Lake Shore Drive is so close and can take me to the Magnificient mile (Michigan Avenue)Or head the other direction where LSD becomes Sheridan Road & view the beautiful mansions along the way to the Chicago Botanical Garden..........All along the the lake front. I enjoy as well the peacefulness ofthe beautiful North Shore towns of Evanston, Willmette, Winnetka & Glencoe Having the lake front so close is also a benefit.

Lovely garden apartment in Rogers Park in Chicago, Illinois.
Lovely old garden apartment (and in Chicago we learned that means a daylight basement apartment) in a beautiful area with lovely old buildings and beautiful trees. Very clean!!! Has a little garden that you can access from the hallway behind the apartment that our little dog enjoyed immensely.
The property manager Ross was very flexible with our quite late check in due to a late arriving flight into Chicago O'Hare. It would have been easier if the apartment had a keyless entry system though, as it took two or three emails and two phone calls to finally get the arrangements made to get the keys after hours.
Beds were reasonably comfortable but the queen bed mattress in the master bedroom was too soft for our taste. I guess because it was a daylight basement apartment, there was a dehumidifier that ran 24 X 7, and because of its location in the main hall between the kitchen and bedrooms, it was quite loud. The constant drone sort of worked as white noise for sleep, but I would have preferred the peace and quiet of the neighborhood. It was hot and humid when we arrived though, so likely it would have been stifling without it.
All appliances except the clothes dryer worked perfectly. We did not find out that it was not working until we had a large load of freshly washed wet clothes to dry the day before we had to check out. Luckily another apartment on the second floor (very large and spacious) was vacant and Ross was so kind to let us use the dryer in it.
The apt was well stocked with kitchen supplies (dishes, pots and pans etc)
Location worked great for us ... close to where our daughter and son-in-law were staying in Rogers Park and just a short drive to Northwestern University in Evanston IL.
For a good variety of restaurants, and definitely to grocery shop, you either need a car, or an Uber or Lyft. Uber worked great for us, although it did get a tad pricey when we ventured further out.
Parking is an issue in the neighborhood though. We only needed to park our daughter's car for one night at our rental, and we ended up having to use an app to find a paid overnight parking spot. For reasons I did not understand, a parking permit was available at check in but we had to state then which nights we needed it. At that point we were not sure and there was no flexibility in the ability to request a parking permit for just one night later on. Glad we had that app!
All in all a great stay in a lovely part of town.
We loved this unit for our week long family trip! The unit was large enough for 5 family members and two pups. It was super clean and Ross, the property manager, was extremely helpful. Our only issue was with the upstairs tenant who was not very friendly at all towards us giving us a few issues. Overall, great unit.
Although we had a few things that we didn’t like, we had a good stay overall, anything that needed attention was taken care of promptly by the building manager
Pride and Independence weeks
Pleasant neighborhood, easy to get around. Garden unit was quiet with plenty of room for 2 people and a dog.
Garden apartment in Chicago.
The place was beautiful, clean, and well-stocked. The property manager was extremely easy to communicate with, flexible with check-in, and available to assist whenever necessary. The place was larger than we expected with two full bathrooms and a huge kitchen. The kitchen had everything that we needed and we were able to prepare basic meals there. The off street parking was a huge plus as it is hard to find parking otherwise in that area. The bedrooms were spacious, clean, and very comfortable. We would absolutely recommend this place in the future and may stay there again when we are back in the area!
Great location and very clean, easy check in with contact information for Ross. Ross was great at meeting us and giving us the run down of the property. Parking was good to have in a busy area. 2 couples stayed at the property, highly recommend.
North Shore. Near Northwestern University. Loyola University. 20 minutes to Downtown Chicago. 5 minutes to down town Evanston. Walking distance to the Red Line as well as bus service so you can reach the city center with in 20 minute. This is truly a great place to call home while exploring all the wonderful things that Chicago and Evanston have to offer.
