We are close to five or six renowned winery/vineyards in the area,. Additional great wineries are located within 20 miles from the Cabin At The Mill. The cabin is pure magic, situated on 11 acres of private property, including our own private stream. A couple of mountain bikes will take you down country roads to view bald eagles, hawks, red fox, wild turkey, black bear, and wildlife you would not normally get a chance to see.
We are close to the famous Washington, Virginia, home of 'The Inn at Little Washington,' and Skyline Drive is wonderfully convenient. Won't you join us + we want to share!

A retired Flight Attendant [for a major airline] and a retired US Air Force Career man continue on to love their life out in nature and amongst the wildlife. We thrive on the clean mountain air and the solitude of the hollow, with the lovely stream running thru it. It is such a perfectly beautiful place and truly magic at Cabin At The Mill. We want to share that with other people by opening up of private Guest House on the property and let others experience this amazing place.
Bonny Paulson, Owner purchased this cabin in 2006
Because there is no other place like this on earth ... it is that special..
So much to do for the active individual and so euphoric for the quiet and pensive.
We had a wonderful stay! :-) very cozy and comfortable. So quiet and secluded. Everything we needed. Definitely would go back. The cabin is adorable. Bonnie was helpful and very nice. Our dog also had a blast.
Fabulous place to stay and convenient location to the Shenandoah Valley. Hosts, Bonnie and Jim, are just gorgeous. Can't wait to visit again - thank you for a wonderful weekend away from the city!
What a gem this place is! Bonny was extremely responsive throughout the booking process, and greeted us when we arrived to have us sign her guestbook and showed us around. After her greeting we had the whole place to ourselves (though Bonny was only a little ways off in case wee needed her). It is a perfectly isolated little spot in the woods, with a comfortable cabin (AC in August was important). We loved that there was no wifi or cell service (but there is just ways up the road if you need to connect now and then). The best part is that we were able to bring our two dogs--who LOVED it! The cabin is close to a couple of cute little towns and only about 15 minutes from Front Royal and the entrance the the Shenandoah National Park, where we went on a few hikes and even ran into a black bear on one of the trails. We saw deer in the creek one of the nights we were enjoying the fire pit, and were serenaded by chirping crickets and frogs. I can't wait to go back!
Loved our stay at here!! We were greeted by our friendly hosts, Jim and Bonny. We were given a tour and explanation of the amenities. They assured us our stay would be peaceful and uninterrupted. And it was. The cabin,(great for a couple or small family) is very tastefully furnished and decorated. We enjoyed the porch swing a lot while listening to the frogs and the breeze in the trees and the nearby stream running over the rocks. They provide all the things you need inside and out. There is a gas grill, patio furniture, hammock, and a chimenea for a fire. Plus a seesaw and a tire swing for kids, and adirondack chairs closer to the stream. No TV here, but who needs one? A short trip to nearby towns and not far from the Blue Ridge Mtns. Want be be unplugged for awhile? This is the place to stay. You will love the remote beauty and serenity!!
My family really enjoyed our stay at Bonny's cabin. The property and countryside are so beautiful. It was a nice drive to Shenandoah and allowed us to go for hikes in the park a few days in a row. We cooked all our dinners at the cabin. The kitchen and grill are well set up for making family dinners. Bonny stopped by right away to check on us and let us know she was right down the road if we needed anything. We had a very comfortable and relaxing weekend. My son loved splashing in the stream during the hot weather. I will definitely consider renting the cabin in the future if we have the chance.
Very lovely cabin. We had a wonderful stay.
