Overview

California Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, Studio, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 1-3)

Green Acres Ranch is more than a cozy place to stay...it is a work of art surprising its happy guests with beauty and creativity.

The ranch has two separate cabins (rented individually or together - see our other VRBO listing #506635) and is on acres of clean and sparse Mojave Desert land. Several lounging areas, hammocks, and fire pits help you soak up the sun, the stars, a good book or a glass of wine (It's rumored that a bottle has greeted a guest or two).

For those who love wildlife, our mature trees and other plant life attract a host of twittering birds and scurrying critters: quail, doves, friendly bats, and roadrunners to name a few. Ravens often nest in the large Tamarisk trees at the front gate, raising new hatchlings each year.

We're located less than a mile away from the boundary of Joshua Tree National Park, and our convenient location near the 62 Highway provides easy access to all nearby locations without sacrificing a sense of peaceful seclusion. Daily excursions may include Joshua Tree National Park (West entrance less than ten minutes away), East Mojave Scenic National Area, Big Morongo Wildlife Preserve, Palm Springs, the Coachella Valley, Big Bear Mountain, Twentynine Palms, Pioneer Town, or Giant Rock.

Why Sandra Lee chose California

Joshua Tree is the best getaway from the city, if you want big open skies and uncrowded spaces! Green Acres Ranch has a relaxed and unpretentious feeling that guests instantly respond to.

What makes this cabin unique

What our guests really enjoy about the property is that it provides great comfort, yet has the slight feel of 'roughing it'. We are private, and yet easily accessible to Highway 62.

Love this place. Second time here. Great place to get away, be in the open desert and feel cozy , like home.

It's got all you need, really charming.

Thoughtfulness in every detail!

  • 5 of 5

Truly a pleasure, both inside and out.

Artistic and whimsical, but also clean and thoughtfully equipped. Loved the various art sculptures spread here and there around the property.

Even the documentation about the place was great, including detailed directions for using the wood-burning stove, and for operating the rather cryptic electronics setup.

I was here midweek in February. Mid 70s during the day and quite cool in the evenings, so the wood stove was put to good use.

Joshua Tree Natl Park is nice, but I was happy to just hang here and relax.

Thank you!

Perfect spot for us!

  • 4 of 5

The location was GREAT (right off the main road to Joshua Tree) and the place was awesome. Eclectic decor, comfy bed, clean and lots of space for my husband and I. It was January and cold at night, so we kept the heat on and were toasty. My husband thought it might have been nice to be able to turn off the outdoor lighting in order to take pictures of the desert sky without light interference, but I thought it looked pretty. We heard coyotes outside the cabin on our first night - very exciting!

We really enjoyed this spot.

Beautiful

  • 5 of 5

Our stay here was just perfect - it was a beautiful way to celebrate our marriage and the new year. The place is even better than it looks in pictures. It's very close to the park entrance and within walking distance from a trail within Joshua Tree. We'd be back! Thank you for creating this great place!

funky cabin in the desert

  • 5 of 5

WE just loved our stay in the Pink cabin called the "Fort Funky"!

Well located, both to Joshua Tree Park and to Restaurants.

Extremely peaceful and quiet. Wonderful to just hang outside and watch the sundown and the mountains light on fire.

Especially loved all the art installations on the property and that it was so vast for our dog to run around and explore while being fenced in.

The inside was just as well decorated and cozy. Only thing I couldn't find was a hairdryer. A welcome bottle of whine was such nice touch after a long journey.

I would have loved to stay there longer, and will definitely be back in the spring perhaps when it is warmer.

Thanks you so much!

Owner's Response: Aw man! The hairdryer hides up there in the closet in the living room. Sorry about that! We'll have to put a note about that in our guidebook!

Peaceful Desert Retreat

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I very much enjoyed our Thanksgiving at the Cactus Flower. The house was nice and cozy despite the 30 degree temperature outside. We were conveniently located less than 10 minutes from the National Park, which allowed us to get there before everyone else in the morning- especially helpful during a holiday weekend! The Cactus Flower was very aesthetically pleasing and looked even more charming than the pictures. We had a nice romantic weekend and we recommend this place to couples looking for a quiet getaway with amazing stargazing.
