It would take me far more time than I have to tell you of every amazing detail of this cabin, so I will tell you my 5 year old granddaughters take on it: Our family joined us mid-way through our week. Their flight was delayed, so she arrived to the cabin sound asleep. Early the next morning she got to check out the vast cabin, and then we toured the grounds. Even at 5, the beauty is too much to be overlooked, and at every turn she was thrilled. The play area! The rock strewn creek! The watermill! The silhouette of mountains in the horizon! The bridge! The dam! The Pond! The grape arbor! The hummingbirds! At every turn she was more excited. And as we came around the foliage from the horseshoe pit and picnic area, she saw a large cross. She hurriedly grabbed my hands and exclaimed "Nana! That is Jesus' cross!! Is this Heaven?" So- my review of this amazing cabin is simply that quote- I surely couldnt sum it up any better. And this little slice of Heaven comes complete with Angel hosts that go out of their way to make sure your stay is perfect.
We cannot express how great this property was for our family. Driving up the gorgeous landscaped drive, we were struck by the beauty of the property - it was so heavenly! We have three young kids, and they were extremely thrilled with the creek, swimming pond, huge grassy lawn and playground (and the stairs too!). This is like a dream estate! The house is super comfortable and you immediately feel at home. The views of the mountains and sound of the babbling creek as you sit on the back porch can help relax anyone. We used the house as our home base as we visited state parks, Helen and Dahlonega. Not a bad ride from Atlanta. Our kids enjoyed every minute and so did we! Hope to come back soon.
We stayed at Jim and Dana's house the week of July 4th. We had 4 adults and 5 children ranging in age from 2 to 16, and a two small dogs.
It was an awesome trip. Kids, adults and pups all enjoyed mining the stream for gems, and fishing and swimming in the pond. The property is well maintained with everything we needed. It actually great. Plenty of room for all nine of us. Beautiful porch with rockers overlooking the stream with a beautiful mountain view.
We would have been perfectly happy just staying at the house, but we made some day trips. Something we highly recommend is Young Harris Water Sports in Hiawassee. We rented a boat and tube plus a jet ski for the day on Lake Chatuge in Hiawassee. It was an absolutely awesome day. I can't begin to describe the beautiful scenery we saw boating while surrounded by mountains. Kids and adults were all exhausted from tubing the lake.
Helen was nice for lunch and shopping. Ruby Falls is a must. We discovered on our last day that Hiawassee has great shops as well but not the crowds.
What made it even more enjoyable was Jim and Dana. Life is never perfect and we had a few little glitches like the WIFI was out. One call to Jim and Dana and they were on it.
We want to return next year!
Such a wonderful, relaxing experience for our 10 family members (grands, adult kids & grandkids). The site is postcard No.Ga.Mts - house beautifully maintained & many extras like the equipped playground for little ones; that romantic creek thru the property & the natural, stone edged pool w small boat tethered. Lots of lazy mornings w coffee on the balcony or wine in the evening. Hiking; short rides to Helen, Ga for cool tubing, zip lining, wine tours & lots of quaint shops! We have recommended this property to same friends/family since our return home. Did I mention our little ones had never experienced "fire flies" all aglow at night, till that stay? Magical. What else was magical ? All the family memories we made ! Thank U - Up the Creek Cabin. Don't change cause we shall return ! Dr & Mrs B.L. & Fam.
This is Heaven!!!!!! Our Cabin in the mountain trip during Christmas was unbelieveable!!!! From the first day I booked this cabin Jim and Dana could not have been any better to us!!!! The pictures do not even compare to being there!!!! This trip will NEVER be forgotten!!!!!! Thank you again to two people who treated to the best time of our lives. My husband and I , My two daughters and there husbands and my grandchildren cannot thank you enough from the bottom of our hearts!!!!! XOXOXO
My family stayed at this property for a long weekend and didn't ever want to leave! The cabin is very large with three floors, including two king sized bedrooms, a loft and downstairs with room for 4 additional adults. We had several small children and the playground was a HUGE hit with them. There is a beautiful stream that provides a constant lull when on the patio. We absolutely loved the place and look forward to going back again and again!!!
