Wonderful location and the view is amazing! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your condo and appreciated being able to use the beach chairs, umbrella, and other amenities. We hope to come back and will certainly be in touch about staying in this condo again.

Great location to explore the island (coasts & inland)

  • 5 of 5

This placed worked really well for my family (2 adults, 2 Kids), and had a very open, vacation feel right when we walked in. The views were great, seeing the sunset each night from the balcony. The location was great for us because it was ~10 minutes inland (up off the Kona highway) which saved us money vs. the expensive resorts down close to the beach. It allowed us to explore different beaches on the coast and save money. We were also easily able to explore the interior of the island from Waikoloa Village location - as it's halfway up towards Waimea.

The building is a bit older from the outside, but the unit itself is great. Nice kitchen, comfortable counter-top sitting and living room area. I do recommend this place for others that want the best of the beach and the interior of the Big Island. We would choose to stay here again if available on our next trip to the Big Island.

Everything you need to relax or adventure out!

  • 4 of 5

Looks just like pictures. Stocked with everything you need to relax on your lanai or adventure to the beach. Lots of fans to cool off the unit, but really only NEEDED them after initial arrival. Had an issue w/wifi and the bedroom window, but was able to contact Maria immediately who provided NEW router/pass info and helped w/window. Didn't have any other wants or needs during the visit as everything was provided (towels, umbrella, beach chair, cooler...) Great location, great stay! Would definitely stay here again.

Waikoloa Village G214

  • 4 of 5

This property has gorgeous views-Mauna Loa with snow on it's top, the Kohala Mountain range, the Pacific Ocean and sometimes Maui's Haleakala, plus, a beautiful golf course.

The condo itself was just a B+, but not necessarily the owners fault. There is constant dust and volcanic particles that make their way into every unit there. We had to clean 5 times out of 6 weeks just to keep the floors, table tops, granite counters, bathroom and sinks clean. This may just go with the territory.

The loft upstairs is very nice, with a step in shower. There is a large plate glass window, but below it are opening windows that let in nice cool air during the morning and evening to cool down the condo very quickly. Caution, the handrail to upstairs only goes 2/3 of the way up and if you are over about 5'8", there is a low support beam you will hit your head on.

The lower bath was nice, but it needs some attention. The window screen is broken and we did our best to help alleviate some of the screen tear. The shower wall is losing paint near the top. There is always an ever present drip you can hear thru the wall of the bath into the master bedroom. This room is very nice and I would give this room and the loft bedroom both 5 *.

One area of concern is the washer/dryer. It is a tiny unit and may be a health danger. When the units were built, dryer vents were apparently forgotten. So, people vent the dryer into a bucket with water in it. Caution; dryer gases go into the condo unless the front door is open and a fan pushes these gases out!

Would we go back? NO, but only for the following health reason. We are both old enough that we can no longer do stairs and their are 14 or so steps up to the condo.

Would we go back? Yes!!! The condo just needs more routine maintenance to keep up with normal household problems. The housekeeper stopped by a couple of times, but only brought us some cleaning supplies so we could clean. I will let that stop there. Overall, the owner was very nice and very helpful before and while we were there. The view is, quite honestly, the best we have ever seen on the Big Island, Hawai';I. It is worth it to go for the beauty, and if you enjoy beautiful scenery.

I strongly suggest you learn about the Big Island before going. There are four primary and 10 sub ecosystems on the island, including the Kileaua calderon which is very active. Take time to smell the flowers. Enjoy paradise!

Owner's Response: As owners of the "End of the Rainbow condo", we try our best to make sure that we respond to renters requests in order to make their stay memorable. When these tenants notified us that the trade winds had caused dust in the unit, we immediately had our cleaning lady contact them to set up a time to come over and do a complimentary cleaning (even though a condo does not provide maid service as a hotel would).. The wife said "that would not be necessary, just provide a swifter duster and they would take care of dusting as needed (which we promptly paid for and provided). The tub window screen is not torn and only needed a screw to hold it in place which we were not made aware of at the time. That and the painting above the tub is being taken care of. As far as we know, there is not a "drip" in the bathroom that we have been aware of before, or after, this tenant. And the Washer/Dryer is ELECTRIC which can be located in any room of a house or condo with virtually no "health danger" of gas, as their is no gas in the complex! Of all 38 Reviews we have had for our condo, 27 are 5 STAR, 10 ARE 4 star, and 1 3 Star. We hope to maintain these high review ratings should you decide to stay with us. Sincerely, Dave and Leslie Brown-Owners
