Guestbook comments from the owner

Hi!

Just wanted to send a note to say how much we enjoyed our stay at your Cedar Chalet. We found the house in excellent condition and a perfect accommodation for the five of us. We loved the peace and quiet of the evenings, and were very thankful that we didn't opt to stay in the Village - too busy for us!

We had one day of serious hiking ... my husband, daughter, and niece hiked the trail of Yosemite Falls... they made it safely to the top to

take in the view and savor that feeling of a major accomplishment!

Our niece's husband and I found some "easy" trails to explore and really enjoyed ourselves. Our timing was perfect for this visit - plenty of water to show off the splendor of the falls, and beautiful summer flowers all along the way. And, perfect weather... which allowed us to see the most amazing stars on our evening "Stargazing"

tour at Glacier Point.

One evening, we decided to watch the sunset from the fire ranger station near your chalet - but we never reached our destination - we encountered one of your huge park bears - right in the middle of the trail! Everyone hightailed it out of there - I did pause long enough to snap a picture though - to prove the event to our friends!

So, we thank you for sharing your little corner of paradise.. and perhaps we will return at some point in the future - we would like to share this experience with our son, his wife, and our new grandchild some day... her pregnancy is the reason they could not travel with us ... but we all agree that the sacrifice will be well worth it!

Hope that your summer goes well, and that you are enjoying each day.

Sincerely, Dolly Canterbury

A lovely and welcoming home!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for Christmas and had a blast. Loved the open design so everyone in the family was part of the action. The hot tub was a perfect temperature and very clean. The pool table made for lots of fun and the kitchen had everything we needed. Oh, and the proximity to Yosemite and views were superb. Thanks!

It was everything as advertised.

  • 5 of 5

The house was clean and well equipped. The beds were very comfortable with good linens. We had a blast with the pool table and hot tub. We had deer, Coyote, and plenty of Ravens in the back yard. Very comfortable there. Definitely 5 stars but the one advice I would give is update the home entertainment. I know we are there for the nature, outdoors ect, but when I get cozy in the evening with my family, it's nice to watch a good movie on a nice size screen. Or watch a game with good sound.... Like at home.

Great spot for Parents and their adult kids!

  • 4 of 5

Great location. Close to Yosemite Valley without having to stay in all the congestion that is the valley. Nicely maintained with a few exceptions but nothing that I find a deal breaker in a rental. Plenty of space for everyone. Pool table a plus. Killer sunset views. Very clean and comfortable. Refrigerator doesn't get very cold so don't bring a bunch of perishables. The clothes dryer was wimpy. Spa was nice, not really a "hot" tub but warm enough to soak in and therefore a bonus to have. Owners provided great directions for all amenities and check in and check out. Really easy to get to. Very nice place. Would stay here again.

Wonderful Home away from Home

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful trip to Yosemite. Our family (four adults and two elementary aged kids) thoroughly enjoyed the pool table (the kids especially) and the hot tub in the evenings. What I most appreciated was how well stocked the home was. We have stayed at many VRBO's over the years and the standard set-up is that there is one or two of basic necessities such as toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, etc. It is the expectation that the guests will have to shop to have enough of those items for the remainder of the trip. This rental however was beautifully stocked - costco amounts of toilet paper, kitchen trash bags, dishwasher pods, and even shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the bathrooms! Given the closet grocery store is at least 30 minutes away this was really wonderful. The kitchen was well stocked as were the bedrooms. Plenty of extra pillows and cozy blankets. Definitely recommend. Had a lovely time!

A spacious, modern, well-appointed home in a great location

  • 5 of 5

The house boasts a well-stocked kitchen with all the tools and appliances one could need, and common areas that perfectly accommodated our party of 6. The bedrooms are large and comfortable, with plenty of extra pillows and linens. The bathrooms are clean and roomy, and I especially appreciated the hot, high pressure shower complete with soap and shampoo dispenser. Our two toddlers had a fantastic time running around this surpisingly child-friendly chalet, while the adults enjoyed the pool table and hot tub (which worked perfectly the whole weekend). Overall, we had a wonderful experience. I highly recommend this chalet for medium-sized families and groups.
