Indiana Cabin Rental Photos and Description

2 Bedrooms, 1Baths (Sleeps 5)

This lovely cabin in a private setting is spacious yet has a warm rustic feeling. Built in the 1940s, it has a stone fireplace, maple hardwood floors, pine walls, a cathedral ceiling in the living room with a cozy sleeping loft on the mezzanine, plus two bedrooms on the main level with queen beds. There is a separate dining room that seats 6 and a breakfast room off of the kitchen. The wraparound porch has chairs and a large round table for dining or just sipping coffee. It is surrounded by a very large open lawn with mature trees and looks out at a riding stables. You can sit on the large wraparound porch or walk over to the stables and take a trail ride or riding lesson in the large indoor arena. Pony rides are also available for children. The beach is a short walk, or drive for 1 minute, park in our private spot, and walk around the corner to the beach.

The decor has been thoughtfully created by a Chicago designer and builder to be unique yet comfortable.

This home has a new 95% efficiency furnace and central air, newer appliances and is very well maintained. Pets are welcome. Email for details.

The surroundings : This home sits on a large lot and is surrounded by trees. You can see the riding stables across from the private drive. Guests can take trail rides, children can have pony rides, or just visit and bring them carrots. They are very people friendly. The beach is a short walk from the cabin, and we provide private pkg around the corner from the stairs to the water if you choose to drive for the two minutes it takes to get there.

Restaurants and shopping: There is a very nice grocery store down highway 12, which takes all of 10 minutes to get to by car. If you drive another 5 minutes, you will arrive at Light House Mall, a very large discount mall with national retailers. You can also shop and dine in New Buffalo, Michigan, which is 10 minutes in the other direction on highway 12. There are boutiques and Chicago quality restaurants in town and further up along 12, or you can head into the quaint restored town of Three Oaks to see theater, art galleries, shop, or dine.

This place was perfect for our family of 6. Clean, comfortable and close to everything. The perfect place to get away. The kids loved the horses!

Family Fun

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for a place to go to with our 8 month old and 2-1/2 year old for a few nights. Our trip was fun, and there was something in the area for everyone. The best part was the comfortable feeling of the cabin and walking out the front door to seeing the beautiful stables and horses. The wood burning stove was a great way to relax in the evening. The beachfront was probably our older daughters favorite part. I even scored a sweet deal on a new suit for work when we visited the outlet mall. Overall this was a great family vacation, especially for families with children that are too young to beg for a trip to a tourist trap!!!

Spectacular Cozy Cottage!!

  • 5 of 5

Some friends and I went for a quiet girls get away and this cottage could not have been more perfect. Not only was it fully stocked with all the cookware we needed but also all the basic spices were there. Phenominal view surrounded by horses with privacy. An hour away from Chicago and we felt like we were in the country. Claudia was so polite and accomodating! Thank you from all three of us. We will return.

Unexpected Gem!

  • 5 of 5

My girlfriends and I get together every Christmas and summer from all over the country, and we were looking for a charming little cabin away from distractions, but not to far from civilization if we forgot to bring toilet paper or coffee.

Claudia was a fantastic manager, answering our many questions via email with courtesy and patience! The cabin was well-furnished, supplied, and very clean. Her instructions for setup and care were clear and simple and we had no problems.

We loved the quirky decor and the quiet atmosphere with the horses next door and plenty of towering trees. You will stay extremely cozy between the woodstove, efficient heat, and fluffy beds.

I highly recommend this property if you'd like a nice quiet place to stay with plenty of yard and trails to wander and cushy couches for catching up or relaxing.

Great Girl's Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I had stayed the previous year in the fall, so knowing how great it was, my friends and I booked this cabin during the summer for a girl's weekend. We cooked our own meals as well as went out to close by towns, such a Michigan City. We spent a few days at the beach; which someone had asked me if a picture I showed them was from Florida! The beach was beautiful though the water was slightly colder since it is on the lake. We also took a full day in Chicago since it is only an hour's drive. Price was great, cabin was clean and it was only a five hour drive from where we live. Overall a wonderful and fun experience!

Nice place to relax

  • 5 of 5

We stayed through the week of Thanksgiving. We enjoyed this cabin, because it is just that a cabin. Relaxing, a fireplace insert wood stove, we used it with the door open so that we could hear the wood crackle. We asked to stay an additional night, Claudia was accommodating, thank you for that Claudia. If you are looking to relax, this is the place. All the amenities of home, better than booking a hotel for that long. A place to do your laundry, watch TV at the end of the day or just enjoy the fire.
