Redfish reservations are now being handled by RealJoy Vacations. The calendar may not be up-to-date: call them directly for accurate availability.
While Blue Mountain Beach is a lovely place for a beach wedding, our house is not suitable for events as there are only 3-4 parking spots and no street parking.
This beach home was designed to maximize the unbeatable view of the water, while creating a living space to accommodate large groups with ample room for cooking and dining together. Redfish is a beautifully appointed home with all the modern amenities you'd expect from a luxury vacation rental.
Practice sunrise yoga on the upstairs deck while watching the spectacular view. Call everyone together in the early evening to enjoy sunsets from the spacious porch with a glass of wine. Spend hours on the beach, playing in the surf, building sandcastles and netting crabs. We usually see dolphins frolicking by every day and often see pods of cow-nosed rays and the occasional sea turtle.
Try our outdoor shower - you'll get addicted!
You'll have the best of both worlds; enjoy the bustle of Seaside, then retreat to the quiet of Blue Mountain Beach just minutes away. Walk down to the Blue Mountain Creamery for some homemade ice cream and La Loba's bakery for organic sweets and sensational carry out meals. For the Health of It, a health food store and juice bar, Big Daddy's bikes, McTigh's Irish Pub and Pizza Joint, TreBeache (same owners as Stinky's Fish Camp) Redd's Fueling Station (live music, singing bartender) and Nick's Seafood are all within a few minutes walk.
You're a few minutes bike ride from Grayton Beach and all it has to offer: the legendary Red Bar with live music and fantastic food, Pandora's, Shorty's Surfside, 2 cute coffee shops, Borago and Sergio's Little Italy, just to name a few places. Bike a few minutes in the other direction to Santa Rosa Beach: you'll find Bolo coffee shop, more restaurants including Pizza by the Sea, and local artists displaying their wares around the peaceful public green space, where you'll sometimes find free, open air concerts.
There is a 23-mile paved bike path running alongside 30A; if you don't have a bike there are nearby rental shops. Oftentimes we park the car and use our bikes all week!
Since you're beachfront, you can have a bonfire on the beach using our permit - you just need to use a bonfire vendor pre-approved by the South Walton Fire Department and pre-arrange through us. There are times when bonfires are not allowed due to nearby nesting sea turtles.
Both saltwater and freshwater fishing abound: fish for bluefish, spanish mackerel, amberjack, grouper, red snapper, speckled trout, pompano, black drum, cobia, and, of course, redfish.
This is the bedroom setup at Redfish:
There is one bedroom on this floor with 2 full sized beds. There is a full bath across the hall with a tub/shower combo.
There are 3 bedrooms on the second floor.
The master bedroom faces the gulf and features a private bath, walk-in shower and a king-sized bed.
The second master has a king sized bed and a daybed (shares the jack & jill bath). This bedroom opens up onto the balcony so you can walk to the second floor gulf front balcony.
The 'bunk room' has a queen bed and a bunk bed (shares the jack & jill bath). This bedroom also opens up onto the balcony so you can walk to the second floor gulf front balcony.
There is a twin daybed on the catwalk on the second floor.
On the third floor is a loft space, with a built-in ladder, and 2 twin beds.
We have a management company on call 24/7 should any issues arise.
If you've never been to Seaside, you're in for a treat. It is a picturesque town with unique architecture, picket fences and homes tightly knit to encourage walking and a community feel. Its 'walk-to-anywhere' design includes a gourmet food market, coffee shops, ice cream parlors, restaurants, art galleries, and small boutiques all centered around a town square with an outdoor amphitheater. Seaside was featured in the 1997 movie The Truman Show.
If you feel like a change of pace, you can drive the 25 miles to Destin, where you can tour the Gulfarium (an aquarium with over 200 mammals, fish, birds and reptiles) take a Dolphin Cruise, go to the Hard Rock Cafe or shop at one of the more than 100 stores located in the Silver Sands Outlet Mall. In the other direction is Panama City Beach, where you can stroll the Boardwalk at the new Pier Park, with nearly 100 shops and restaurants, or try to get your name on the 'best times' board at the Gran Maze at Coconut Creek Family Fun Park.
You won't be disappointed with the area, and we know you'll want to come back again and again to our little piece of heaven on the Gulf. Redfish is truly a beach house where you can unwind and create family memories together.

My husband and I own Redfish in a partnership with 2 other families. We live in Atlanta with our 2 children. Our partners are 2 brothers and their familes; the brothers grew up about an hour away from Redfish. They spent much of their childhood camping and fishing on the gulf and really know everything about the area.
Barbara purchased this house in 2002
We have been in love with the Seaside area since 1996, when we first vacationed there. It is a place that is very special to us and is terrific for families.
The bike path is our favorite feature. We ride everywhere, sometimes we even have a destination in mind before we set out! The path is paved and FLAT - anyone will enjoy it.
