Convenient central location with easy access to all the amenities, you are a two minute walk along our quiet tree-lined street to the best part of fabulous Commercial Drive, with shops, groceries, restaurants, live music/entertainment, recreational facilities and the greatest selection of coffee shops anywhere! And by the way, Vancouver is a top micro-brewery destination, and many fine micro breweries are in our area.

By car you are just a 8 minute drive to the city center and a 30 minute drive to any location in the city, from the beaches of Kitsilano, to the mountains of the North Shore, to the BC ferry portal to the Gulf Islands and Victoria. We are very close to public transit: buses are a block away, Skytrain (rapid transit) is a 12 minute walk. Many guests opt to go car free as travelling around the city is super easy, but if you have a car, we have a large off street parking space just for you.

About The Owner

We love living in this beautiful 1910 heritage home in a prime heritage area of Vancouver, and sharing the Commercial Drive area with visitors from all over the world. Vancouver is indeed a visitors paradise and we enjoy the great variety of people who come and explore its many hidden gems.

The Owner purchased this apartment in 2009

Why The Owner chose Vancouver

Commercial Drive is one of the trendiest areas in Vancouver and a fabulous place to visit. The house is on a quiet street 1 1/2 blocks from the best cafes, restaurants, live music clubs and bars, shops, produce and health food stores. There are fitness facilities, banks, groceries, transit, and a liquor store all within minutes from home.

What makes this apartment unique

Our house is over 100 years old. She celebrated her 100th birthday in 2010. Over the last several years she has had major renovations to every sector of the home, including the suite. The suite is a new installation including both kitchen and bathroom and has not been rented prior to this listing on VRBO. The entire house, including the suite, has retained its heritage charm and combines the best of modern and heritage living.

Clean, quaint, with great location

The place was very cozy, clean, and sweet. The outside patio area was lovely. It was very convenient to have the parking as well! Leslie was very kind and helpful with any questions we had, a real calm in the city!

Just perfect!

We were so pleased to have chosen to stay here. The thoughtfully laid out floorplan made it easy for our family of four to stay. The weather was beautiful so we ate outside in our private garden area from delicious produce we had bought 5 mins away on Commercial Drive. We took advice and bought from Santa Barbara and Normans and bought a fabulous ice cream too! Leslie kindly showed us the laundry and we caught up with washing too. This is a happy, very comfortable place to stay and in a great location.

Quiet and comfortable

Lovely little suite tucked behind a garden, well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. Grocery stores and restaurants close by, walkable neighbourhood, but felt a little uneasy on Commercial Drive after 8 pm., I guess that's why they call it a DRIVE. Hostesses were not welcoming but if we needed anything one of them was right there and very helpful. This really wasn't a problem as sometimes vacationers just want to be left alone.

The property was clean and well maintained and we enjoyed our stay there.

Location Location!

This place was amazing! Cute little unit, super clean and has everything you could possibly need for anything in there. The best part is the location, literally around the corner from probably 30 restaurants and pubs, tons of coffee shops, little grocery shops and a full grocery store if you need. We had a car, and it was easy to get everywhere from here, probably about 10-15 minute drive to everywhere we wanted to check out! Home at night, the patio was relaxing to sit on, and there was a BBQ if you need to cook your meat from the butcher around the corner or your bags of food from the Granville island market :)

I would definitely stay here again, highly recommend!

Great Location

This cozy basement apartment was perfect for our stay. We had no car and used public transport (train and buses). The house was within walking distance of a grocery store, markets with fresh produce, and plenty of restaurants. We were able to walk to the train station each day (only about a 15 minute walk and then 15 minute train ride to downtown) and then from there could do all of the hotspots Vancouver had to offer (Stanley Park, Capilano Bridge, Granville Island, Forbidden Vancouver Tours, etc). We were also able to take the train from the airport and back. The garden is nice and quiet, and the apartment itself is clean, well kept, and well stocked. We were very appreciative of the 2 umbrellas that were provided. If you plan to just relax and stay in for your stay they had plenty of channels on tv, a bookshelf full of books, and the wifi worked great. There are usb charging ports next to the bed, which is really comfortable. Leslie and Susan were very nice, and checked to see if we needed anything. This is a great place to stay!

The Yellow Cottage Just Off of "the drive" was Wonderful

This experience was everything we expected and more. The cottage was neat, clean and orderly. It was also a great home base from which to explore the city. Everything was either a quick drive, bus ride or sky train trip. The thing that really impressed me most was that everything anyone would possibly want was in the home, ie. we needed a cooler to put drinks in for a day out and there were ice packs frozen in the and a little cooler bag as well-it was perfect. We really enjoyed the Italian Culture Festival which was held the weekend we were there. the stay was a 10+ on a scale of 10.
