The property was very clean, safe & the property managers and gatekeepers were super friendly. The condo was very clean and had everything we needed. The area is super convenient with Amigos supermarket, Walgreens, and gas station right across the street. The condo is adorable but the best part about it the view of the ocean... it's absolutely breathtaking! You literally walk right downstair and through the gate and you're on the beach! The beach was totally amazing! The cross breeze and sound of the waves were so calming! I would highly recommend this place!
We liked this place and will definitely rent it again if we need a place in Luquillo. A few things future renters might want to be aware... there is a beach towel there with a naked lady on it (not knowing at first, we almost let our son use it). Also, the Wi-Fi signal in the apartment is strong enough for emails and average web-browsing but not for watching videos at a decent speed (but who's there to watch online videos, right?). Didn't have time to try the tv and if it connected to tv channels so I can't speak to that. One of the room air-conditioner units popped and smelled bad in the middle of the night so we unplugged it and never used it again, but with the balcony open and it being winter time and breezy, the room wasn't too hot without the AC. Overall, very nice experience, reasonable price, and awesome views.
This is a wonderful apartment! The place is just 35-40 minutes from San Juan airport 10 minutes to Fajardo to catch the ferry to Viaques and Culebra and the bioluminiscent bay and 10 minutes to the El Yunque rain forest. The apartment complex is gated and very safe. The beach is quite private and right in front of the apartment complex.
The bedrooms are separated by the living area conferring privacy. The entire apartment faces the ocean , so you wake up to the sound of the ocean if you leave your windows open.
The owners are very accessible and helpful.
This was our first trip to PR and we had no idea where to stay. I kept coming back to this condo in my search. It is very comfortable and affordable. There is a beautiful view of the beach. It is very well stocked with things you might need. The only problem we found is that being on the 12th floor the sound of the ocean was soooo loud, I guess because sound travels up. It was very hard for us to sleep with this amount of noise. If you love the sound of the ocean you will probably love this but beware it is loud.
This was our first time to Puerto Rico and we loved it! The condo is very clean, comfortable and has everything you need. Our group had 4 adults and 2 kids, and there was plenty of space. The view from the balcony is amazing...pretty much all you see is beach! We spent the majority of our time on the beach, which was calm, clear and never felt crowded despite being easily accessible. I would suggest getting a hammock (they have them for sale everywhere!), as there are lots of palm trees along the beach that would make the perfect spot to tie up to and have shade/relaxation all day! The location of Playa Azul was very convenient to the Amigo grocery store, for any groceries you need, as well as fast food options and restaurants. Our favorite place for breakfast was Aroma...not far away. They have wonderful food and delicious crepes and coffee. Also, the Kioskos are very close by. They have around 50 or so shops/restaurants all within walking distance of each other, offering all types of cuisine and atmospheres. The Ceviche Hut and La Parilla were our favorites! The El Yunque rainforest is a MUST, as it's only about a 15 min drive from Playa Azul. Go early and be prepared to walk a lot and swim! We walked the trail to La Mina Falls, and even though it was crowded, it was definitely worth it! The surroundings are just amazing and the waterfalls and private swimming holes are like nothing we had seen before. We also spent a day exploring Old Town San Juan, which was only about 30-45 min away. We had so much fun walking through El Morro and shopping and eating in the Town Square. The cobblestone streets and colorful facades had a very quaint, European feel. Overall, we had a fantastic family vacation and would definitely come back and stay at Playa Azul again in the future!
Even with picky teens it was great! All the other review are right about this place. The only thing I needed that was not provided was good sand castle tools.
There is an Amigos grocery and Walgreens 3 blocks away. So, pack two outfits and your bathing suit in a backpack and come here. Calm beach to the left, surf beach to the right, and the prefect beach right out front. Walk on the beach at 7am, breakfast at 8am, in the rain forest at 9am, lunch at the La Mina waterfall at Noon, back at the beach at 2pm, supper at 5pm, Bio Bay walking or kayak tour at 6pm OR lay on the beach all day. Both are great choices.
Three thing that were a little odd (not good or bad) at Playa Azul. 1.There are cat everywhere but no lizards (lizards can be big in Puerto Rico). 2. The pool has NO shade, ever. 3. Gates are lock at 7pm (pool and beach).
The building were being repainted when we were there but no workers before about 9am and gone by 5pm. The place looks great!
